Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Two senior couples from Canada wrapped up a vacation with dinner last Friday at 6:15 in this restaurant. The new glass Antrim is beautiful by design. Tables are very close to each other and it feels crowded. The acoustics are terrible as it was difficult...to have a table conversation with the elevated noise. The service was marginal as the waiters were signalled by raised hand or menu. The food and presentation was excellent and the $ value was fine. Overall we thought this dinner was less than our expectations. We paid for our dinner at the cashier near the inside bar. Before leaving we thought we would order a final beverage as the noise level seemed to drop a bit or was tolerated. My wife and I returned to the bar and paid for our nightcap beverage. At this point my wife asked at the bar the brand they used for our drinks. We left the restaurant at that time. This is when we were shocked by what happened next. As we were walking down the block we could hear a man dressed like a waiter running and loudly shouting at the four of us. We stopped and found us being accused of not paying before leaving! A strong accusation! With receipts in hand I told him to go back and check with his cashier. He then left and returned to the restaurant. The next day I made a point of contacting the restaurant manager to provide some constructive feed back with positive intentions. Suggesting that staff should check first before making accusations! The restaurant manager explained he was the one yelling and chasing after us and replied they were very busy and he had to do what he did? Why would he have to chase after us? A marginal sorry was offered. Physical renovations should include attention customer service and staff including management! For the benefit of customers planning to dine at this restaurant I offer this review!More

Casual Friday night dinner with work colleagues and their partners, eight of us in total for a 7pm booking. Overall we had a great evening, and note I usually err on the high side when rating establishments, so a 3/5 is low for me. It...really was a mixed experience, and I see from reading other reviews here I am not alone. The food was very good and I would rate 5/5, having not been to Thailand so I can't vouch for authenticity but as an average Kiwi who enjoys Thai and Asian food in general I found it to be well presented and tasty, at a reasonable price. The place itself is adorned with plastic foliage but the overall effect was pleasant sitting in the glass conservatory which was at a comfortable temperature. The down side was the decidedly average service. Serving a gin and tonic in a wine glass seems odd to me but maybe that's being picky. Some pleasant enough wait staff, but the evening was really let down at the end when we were sitting around chatting just before 10pm and the bill was literally thrown on the table and we were advised in no uncertain terms that it was time to leave. There were one or two other groups getting the same treatment. I know this is Auckland not Paris but it's not like it was one in the morning, it just put a sour taste in the mouth that did not come from tamarind. We won't be back.More

It is a real shame that they spent so much money renovating this restaurant as it is truly lovely but they really need to provide much better customer service to warrant people coming back. The food was fantastic. This restaurant has the potential to be...one of the best in AK. The service was very poor. Yes, it was packed but even towards the end of the evening we were bascially ignored and wanted more drinks and desserts then when they finally came over to us we were told the kitchen was closed so we missed out.More

We have been going to the Thai Village since it opened in 1996 and are still going in 2022. The food is always amazing, the staff are attentive and knowledgeable and really look after their customers. There have been many changes since they first opened...and the latest upgrade is the best yet with an outside eating area. We highly recommend this restaurant and in our minds this is the best Thai food in New Zealand. The one thing that I am disappointed with is that now you cannot bring your own wine and to us that's a step in the wrong direction!!!More

Obviously by one observation a popular Auckland Thai restaurant Possibly the need for front of house to present themselves and work hard to to attract diners has diminished and it shows . As a non resident caught in NZ covid style for 9 months I...have come to be in awe of NZ service friendliness ..sadly not here Having mentioned Covid , if management read this , for goodness sake do yourselves, your country and your customers a favour by placing the Covid QR codes front and centre of arriving customers . Food authentic , generous helpings but charges are at higher end of the scaleMore

We visited the restaurant from time to time over years and it’s slowly and consistently going down. The waiter cleared a table of a group of app 15 slowly before he decided to even look at us. Food was acceptable but far from it once...used to be. We are done with this restaurant.More

Went with friends and found the menu and the food very good. Nice location with a good ambiance and friendly staff. Disappointing to see the girl on the front desk always on here phone, perhaps if she had been paying more attention she would not...missed the round of drinks on our bill.More

I visited Thai Village on several occasions now and, while the food is good, the service is appalling. The arrogance of the lady at the front counter was incredible after we asked for a table, particularly as we hadn’t booked. The waitstaff too are incredibly...short and do not seem to understand the concept of customer service. Perhaps this Remuera Thai family owned place needs to take a holiday. It has taken me several bad experiences with this restaurant to actually write a review as I feel quite strongly about it.More

I went for a walk and found this nice place so stopped for dinner. I found it to be very good. The meal was lovely although not as authentically thai as i prefer but this does in no way detract from the quality of the...fare which was superb. I would have no hesitation in recommending and will go back again when in the area.More

This place has been around forever and we have been eating here as a family for over a decade. The food used to be great. However, it seems to have lost even the smallest bit of spice or fragrent herbs that are typical of Thai...food. The service is getting progressively worse and has been fairly marginal the last few times. It took 15 minutes to get someone to take our order, which came out incorrect and had to constantly ask the waiter for drinks. Such a shame it used to be a great local spot with nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, we will go to Parnell or Newmarket.More

Tucked away from the main road this restaurant is a wee gem. The staff are welcoming and friendly and know their dishes well. The food comes quickly and the generous portions are all tasty and filling. There are many to choose from but I suspect...they are all as good as each other. An easy informal place to eat; well worth looking out for.More
