Most incredible atmosphere and dining!

We visited Cibo with my partners parents and friends. The waiters went above and beyond to look after us, they had a great sense of humour and made the evening very special. The food was outstanding - couldn’t fault a thing! The desserts were enormous and delicious, they also catered to my gluten intolerance.

An unforgettable first wedding anniversary

My husband and I just had the most fabulous dinner, dessert and drinks at Cibo for our first wedding anniversary. The lamb and the gnocchi were very good but the dessert and drinks were unforgettable. We had the fry pan brownie and salted caramel pav cocktail which were both scrumptious and full of flavours. A special shout out to Liam for making our evening so memorable with great conservation and his many thoughtful gestures, such as bringing us celebratory limoncellos and writing “Happy Anniversary” on our dessert plate. An absolute must for any special occasion!

Best birthday ever!

Food in Cibo has been incredible, the whole experience has been amazing and having a waiter as Liam is such a pleasure. He has been very kind and helpful in every needed we had. He has explained us the dishes with patience as we are from Spain and sometimes is difficult having the full experience. I would recommend coming here without a doubt. Thanks so much for everything!

Disappointing

Our experience was that of a busy food court. Placed by the only door through to the kitchen from outdoor seating our table of six felt crowded and bustled and we got all the noise from the large group inside. Hardly a fine dining experience! The food when it came was ordinary with a high price tag for its worth. The blow up Santa archway over the door was an indicator of a child’s party or playground not a well respected fine dining establishment. We won’t be back.

Birthday delight

This is our favourite restaurant when we want to celebrate, knowing that it is the real McCoy and we have not had anything but good experiences in the 20 years we have been going (albeit intermittently.)The whitebait fritter is exceptional as a starter, the steak perfectly cooked to my medium request, the sides are fresh and tasty but that pavlova is huge even when shared we needed a doggy bag. We certainly don’t misunderstand that when we get to relive the experience the next day. Service is always brilliant, the team there go out of the way to make the experience memorable. They must have a great database to remember all those little things about you, use your names and are always so positive with a quip or a memory from a previous visit.

Cibo is a fantastic experience! The whole evening was excellent. I dined as a group of 4 and everyone loved their food…scallops and crab, tuna crudo, lamb rack, duck, wagyu beef, amazing carrots with feta, harissa and dukha, Brussel sprouts (if you can make these tasty then you must be a fantastic chef)… and dessert ….Yum….Fry pan brownie with Bailey’s ice cream and salted caramel. I didn’t try it but I hear the Pad Thai donuts dessert is also great. The service was very friendly, just the right level of attentive and I think the best I have received in a long time. All the staff we dealt with were highly trained and very good at their jobs. The atmosphere was lovely and we really enjoyed being in the courtyard. Despite it being winter, the heaters made it a good spot. We couldn’t believe the number of birthdays that were being celebrated. The staff sang happy birthday maybe 5 or 6 times. They jokingly asked if a birthday was being celebrated at our table. There were 2 being celebrated but we said we preferred not to have any singing so they delivered dessert with a happy birthday message in chocolate. Very thoughtful. Cibo is a polished, top quality restaurant which consistently delivers an excellent dining experience. I think I’ve eaten here maybe 4 or 5 times and every time it has been 5 star.

AMAZING FOOD & CUSTOMER SERVICE

I've been wanting to check out this restaurant for a while. I had high expectations and boy did they knock it out of the park. The front-of-house staff was very engaging, clued on and clearly enjoyed working there. Kudos to the management team for driving great work culture! The food was absolutely delicious and it was clear that each element on the plate was given due attention. We will be back on our next visit. Rachel & Joshua

Always excellent!

We went to Cibo to celebrate a birthday last week and it was fabulous. We’ve dined here a few times over the years and every time it has been consistently a top quality restaurant. Excellent food and service. I really think the team here have amazing training and make each diner’s experience a night to remember. We all throughly enjoyed our meals and highly recommend Cibo.

From the moment you walk in to when you leave many hours later you will have a wonderful experience. Staff are very professional, knowledgeable and attentive. As vegans we were well catered for with several options. Food was outstanding. A relaxed ambience with the occasional acknowledgement of a birthday exhibited by harmonised wait staff. Prices are up there but you don't mind so much when the evening cannot be faulted. Our fourth visit here and it never diappoints

Entertaining service and exciting food. Excellent!

This place was a notch - several notches - better than any restaurants I have dined in for years. Flash and stylish without being pretentious, friendly and interesting staff without be ingratiating and smarmy, a menu with plenty of novelty and yet it was still accessible: it didn't require fluency in French, Italian and Mandarin (though I did have to google a few items!) to understand, and only a few of the words seemed to be made up! And the food was excellent! Nothing on the plate was just to fill a space. It was all fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. You could dine at cheaper restaurants, but you could also spend a lot more money at other restaurants and not have nearly as good a time.

still a good experience

i love going to Cibo because the entire menu is GF so its wonderful to go somewhere where i can choose anything i like. this time it felt a lot noisier than previous visits which was a bit of a distraction. the service was still incredible and super attentive, and like wise the food is always beautifully presented and delicious.

We have been coming here for over 20 years. It’s always consistently good. Perfect for couples dinner - or a celebration with friends. Signature dishes like the Hapuka (fish) curry or the duck are hard to go past.

Quite simply a stunning experience from start to finish. Fantastic attentive table service, excellent suggestions. The entire menu can be gluten free which we hadn’t realised before arriving and was extremely welcome. We enjoyed the oysters, whitebait omelette and scallop/crayfish special. Equally the mains of hapuka, wagyu beef and crayfish were all very much enjoyed. A lovely touch that desserts came in small or large sizes for those with not much room left! We will be back.

Jeremy the owner is vibrant bubbly, complete hands on owner. I believe his staff are hand picked very carefully. He Cares about ensuring the Cibo experience, is unique to Cibo customers. That effort explains why Cibo is still here after 30 Years. " Cibo is always in the top 10 dining experiences in Auckland". we have been going there for 25 years....its our go to restaurant.

Celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Cibo. The food was amazing, but the service was their special sauce - possibly the best service I've had in any eatery in this part of the world, absolutely nothing was a problem for this team of obvious professionals. We were treated like, and felt like VIP's as judging from the smiles at other tables we were not the only ones. Oh, the dessert was off the chart good! (That pavlova was better than my nana's and she was famous for it!)
