I ordered food on 14th November, Dal Makhni, Balti chicken, and some bread. Extreme disappointed. I have tried Bawarchi couple of times and always had a good experience. But this time it was a complete wastage of time, money and food. Breads were dried not...fresh but eatable. Dal makhani was watery and tasted like tomato soup. Balti chicken was full of food colour, too much oil, and spices were added from top and not even cooked. I only had one spoon of each gravy and can feel the burning sensations. out of ten i will give -1. I drove all the way from manukau and was so excited to eat. We are for sure never ever going back or recommend anyone. We end up ordering at nearby restaurant.More

Ordered a family pack biryani and guess what, it was all rice except 5 small chicken pieces that wont be sufficient for 1 person. Total rip-off, never go for this order !! We packed our lunch for next day (2 persons) with 2 small pieces...each. And the photo is all the rice left behind with 1 chicken piece (2nd photo) !!More

After scanning through the reviews for this place I ordered chicken Biryani and honestly it was horrendous. To begin with, I jump into it straight away after getting back home and to my displeasure found out it was cold. Surprisingly that didn’t bother me so...much as I was famished. What made me furious was to find out there was only a tiny single piece of chicken innit. Again to think of the chef actually plated the Biryani intentionally with a single piece was far fetched. There wouldn’t be any possible reason for such a vendetta against me. So I called just to let them about the whole ordealand get one with it however the lady whom I spoke to go all defensive on me and said what I mentioned couldn’t be true. Woah! Can you believe that!!! All I was looking for was for some empathy and prevent any further escalations but not the case! Highly disappointed.More

Visited the Christchurch Bavarachi with my family and we were thoroughly satisfied. the food fabulous was divine. You got to try the Hyderabadi biryani, Bhuna chicken and the Sri Lankan fish curry. The food was really flavoursome and authentic. highly recommend anyone visiting Christchurch to...try them out. Thank you Sandeep for the excellent service provided. We will be back again .More

Second time bad experience. First time when I visited this place was 2018 and I ordered chicken fried and guess what it had no chicken just egg!!!! 👎 Tonight was a family member's birthday and unfortunately the restaurants we wanted to go were crazy full...so had to go here. 😑😑 All the other staff were nice and friendly willing to help. The Asian one was very rude and full of attitude!!.. My Dad likes to joke around and she was giving us negative vibes couldn't wait to get out. We waited more than 15minutes for them to bring our cake. So we left!!!! The chicken was bad and had a bad smell made us sick. To be honest we're never coming back again. I would recommend for everyone to go paradise or satya. Worst birthday experience 😑😑👎👎More

Re Online order from Bawarchi Christchurch. Tonight I ordered Bhuna Gosht (dry) for my husband, with written notes: "No sugar please. Severely diabetic diner." Before making the online order I had also rung and was assured by Bawarchi staff member that they do not add...sugar. I was advised to put the special request as a note at the end of the order. Which I did. On return home, my husband had his Bhuna Gosht with just a lettuce, cucumber salad (no dressing), no carbohydrate. He avoided my orders of Ramadan specials but just had the Bhuna Gosht and green salads, because we wanted to know if Bawarchi is a safe place for a diabetic to return to, to dine at. I tried his dish and both of us thought that it tasted sweet. 2 hours after eating, my husband took his blood sugar reading. It was unusually high, which indicates there's sugar in his order. I took precautions in making a verbal request by phone as well as a written note at the end of the order. What else does one have to do, to ensure that Bawarchi does not affect adversely the health of their customer?More

It seems a pity that the Christchurch branch doesn't have its own little space on here. Even though the decor isn't anything to brag about, it's a clean space with seating for about 30. While we were waiting for our food, we saw that the...takeaway business was doing a brisk trade. The food came quickly and all the food we ordered was tasty. The mutton Biriyani was well seasoned and the meat to rice ratio very good. It was nice to have 'authentic indo-chinese' food and the malai tikka kebab was well marinated. Looks like we have found a new favourite because the question of " will we go there again" is a resounding yes!More
