Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great coffee and served with a smile. Found staff here very helpful and especially would recommend the filter coffee option. Nice quiet spot and a great addition to the hotel

I often stop here for breakfast before starting work in the hotel. I always have the Eggs Benedict - the Hollandaise is made from scratch for each order, and the extra twist is a hint of truffle oil somewhere in the dish - I’ve not...managed to work out quite where - either the hollandaise or the rösti.More

This cafe is attached to the Sofitel hotel but is certainly not your standard hotel cafe. It is very informal with a blackboard menu and cabinet food for Sunday brunch which is when we visited. I had a lovely eggs benedict made with a potato...rosti, from their all day breakfast menu and my friend had a calamari salad, which she said was great too. There are tables both indoors and outside overlooking the quay, which made for a lovely setting and we found the service really friendly so we’ll certainly be returningMore

Lovely spot for breakfast. We went here 2 days running and really enjoyed our breakfasts, particularly the eggs benedict and scrambled eggs

A good selection in the display cabinet complimented by a range of options from the menu and blackboard. Clean and tidy both in the seating and kitchen area visible to customers.

After searching online for a cafe/restaurant for pancakes/hot cakes on a breakfast menu, we were pleased to find this cafe and in walking distance! Unfortunately when we got there the menu online was incorrect and this led to disappointment with our children. Upon ordering we...made some adjustments to make the menu items more kid friendly which seemed a bit of an inconvenience. Eg leaving off banana but adding ice cream to a French toast or even a simple milkshake. The food we ordered was average, the table far to small for plates and drinks. But the location and view was awesome!More

Everything about Auckland was amazing particularly the Viaduct area. Delicious food everywhere and just watching the boats coming into there mooring was so relaxing

As hotel guests, we had breakfast in this place three times. It is a modern, light and comfortable restaurant, with views to the marina and Auckland Bay. Service is amazingly inefficient and confusing, even by French standards. Ordering a plain black coffee might take you...10-15 minutes. The quality of the coffee is mediocre. Amazingly, you have to ask for a teaspoon separately, because it is not brought with the coffee. Breakfast can be a la carte or buffet service. The buffet is average, better for cold "continental" items than for warm dishes. We ordered a la carte: the eggs Benedict were hopelessly overcooked and drowned in Hollandaise sauce. Poached eggs ordered soft also came out overcooked. Fried eggs sunny side up were disturbingly solid and overcooked. If the chef can't make plain eggs, perhaps s/he should go back to cooking school 101?More

This is one of my favourite places to go to for coffee - on the same building as Sofitel and the views of the harbour is amazing.

OK coffee, a great blueberry muffin, and seating right on the harbor. Located inside the Sofitel......a great place to avoid the $40 breakfast in the hotel.

We were staying at the Sofitel and ate breakfast here rather than going to the restaurant. We tend not to eat much for breakfast and had some nice fruit as well as scrambled egg and smoked salmon on a bagel warmed up. As long as...the weather is ok you can eat in or out. People were popping in for drinks and food to take out. We also came back here for lunch twice while we were in Auckland as they do great sandwiches, so tasty. We even bought two Cajun Chicken & Salad sandwiches the morning we left on our drive south and ate them for our lunch. This place does very good food and the service is excellent too.More

We went here for breakfast, which was lovely. I had pancakes with mixed berries, ice cream and maple syrup, which I would definitely recommend. My husband asked for a smoothie- without any banana in. They were happy to make it for him. You can sit...inside, which was nice and cool, even on a hot day, or outside and enjoy views of the harbour.More

21 Viaduct Cafe serves reasonably priced coffee and other drinks. There are also different types of pastries and quick food in the counter. Service is always good and there are tables outside the venue where customers could savour the beautiful harbour view.
