Had been visiting the restaurant for the last 8 months. Food was good and floor staff provide good service. Did make a booking at the restaurant yesterday ( 09/03/2020) for dinner. The manageress we extremely rude and unfriendly to us. Very poor management skill and...lack of courtesy to help customer.. I hope the top management would look at this matter seriously as I believed it will tarnish the image of Thai Chef restaurant in Parnell. This is not the first time we encounter her unfriendly manner and I believed we are speak for many others who had similar experience with her.More

Terribly sweet mains with the roti inedible. So much sugar. Not the fresh Thai we’d expected. Service was not great. Best bit was the byo at $6 a bottle.

I first visited this restaurant at least 20 years ago and recently returned. Their vegetarian baked tofu is amazing.

My boyfriend and I went on the Monday night 2 for 1 offer and it was amazing! The starters were fantastic and tasty, and both of our curries were super yummy! We really enjoyed the sticky rice, washed down by a tiger beer! Already booked...in for next Monday!More

A little different than normal Thai restaurants. Menu a little querky, descriptors of dishes a little different. Food was very good. Only complaint was charging $3.50 for corkage on one bottle of wine between 3 people. Advertised as per two people per bottle. Overall a...good night and we will probably be back.More

I only did a takeaway here and experienced very friendly service. Once I got home and ate my meal, I wished I was still at the restaurant to compliment the chef. The food was excellent.

I met a friend for an early Thursday dinner, we were the only diners as the restaurant just opened however they progressively got busier as the night went on. Service was good. The food was phenomenal. I had the best Pad Thai with Crispy Pork...Belly here. Reasonably priced. Good sized portion. Will return.More

Good food and reasonably priced. I had dinner here with friends but the service of the senior waitress/manager is not that great. She is not hospitable, did not smile and we felt we were being judged. She is rude in explaining the menu when we...asked her. She seems unhappy that we were asking about the menu and when we moved our glass/cutlery to the other side of my plate so she could place the food at the centre of the table. If you want to just enjoy your food and have a nice evening, I don't recommend it here as you won't get a good feel after your meal. I don't recommend this place at all, there are other better Thai restaurants in the area with much better service.More

Booked the restaurant for dinner for 4 of us using a coupon deal - thought we would give the place a try after reading the reviews on this restaurant. The coupon deal had a number of restrictions (no seafood, duck and no BYO) which is...fine as we were happy to order and pay for additional dishes - appetizers & a seafood dish. The food was good (use of Thai herbs, ingredients and spices) although the chicken & beef curry dishes were a bit sweetish compared to what we are used to in Thailand, being regular tourists to that delightful country. Suspect taste has been 'modified' and spiciness toned down for regular NZ taste. Understandable but Thai curries without the spiciness (we ordered hot)? What I guess we should have taken note of are a couple of tripadvisor reviews commenting on how rude and abrupt the manageress was. She certainly was that and more in our experience. She could have explained the limitations on the coupon deal in a more polite manner, could have been less abrupt in wanting to take our orders, could have been more polite when we queried why one of our dishes had not been served and certainly and definitely, could have put on a more welcoming and pleasant manner! We observed right through the evening that she carried a scowl on her face and never once smiled! Not to us or at the other tables! The two waitresses who served us saved the day - they were lovely, jovial and knowledgeable about the dishes. Thanks to them, the restaurant gets a 3. It really deserves a 2 for a most inhospitable manageress.More

Well appointed and quite popular by the number of large groups there the night we went. Massive menu which is a little overwhelming but the food was excellent with just the right amount of spice.
