Came here during restaurant month with some friends and loved the atmosphere and service. We chose from the $40 menu for restaurant month and bought an extra dessert. Would highly recommend! All our dishes were tasty and cooked well. Even the bread rolls were a...hit. Shout out to our waiter Luke for the excellent service.More

The square plate deal is an excellent value package for lunch. Yes the portions are smaller but you do get three beautifully cooked courses for a fab price. Just what was needed for a break during a day out retail treat in the city. Service...is always first class too.More

We've been to 3 locations for high tea in last 6 months - friends outings. This was definitely #3. Park Hyatt is the stand out winner & Miann glasshouse was strong #2. Food - nothing hot, all prepared and pastry cases purchased & filled (nice...Jaffa mouse) Venue - we had a well situated table, very bright & interesting decor. Noticeable that devilled eggs and prawn had been prepared a while. Lounge sitting area would be a good place for after work drinks. Best part was bee's knees cocktail to start. Be aware, we booked for 5, increased to 6 two days before, but one sick on the day. We were charged for 6 - $45 is the no show amount. These days with covid worries I was disappointed they weren't flexible on #6?More

$29 for fish of the day, portion given to us was half that of other fish of the day orders - we only received one tiny piece each, whereas other plates had two small pieces each. Wait was overly long for very disappointing dish that...left me hungry and annoyed and feeling ripped off. After complaining we were given complementary coffee and cheese and crackers, which were fortunately delicious.More

Food in high tea was very good but just wasn't enough of it. Also atmosphere wasn't that great, felt like you were shoved in a corner to have the high tea. Staff were walking through with boxes and kitchen equipment.

We had a memorable high tea on Queens birthday weekend. Everything was presented to perfection. The cocktail was delicious and the food was of high standard. It was a pity that sea selection was limited to earl gray and another standard black tea, or coffee....It's not that I don't appreciate honoring the Queen on Queens birthday, it's just that as a consumer I do like variety and I was quite looking forward to a herbal tea. Dietary needs were met with gorgeous alternatives. The only improvement point here was milk was brought with tea to one of us who had requested a lactose-free high tea. On the whole the lack of herbal teas on this occasion and milk being served with tea on knowing they were a lactose-free high tea was nothing compared to the roaring and royal experience we had. The music, atmosphere, location and beautiful variety on the table 100% met and exceeded my expectations. I'm already planning another visit.More

Being a big fan of high tea, I was drawn to the theme of a Roaring 20s High Tea as a point of difference and dressed accordingly. Not everyone is into dressing up I soon learned with only two tables doing so. There really wasn't...a theme going on in the decor or service either, with only one display of feathers and pearls hinting at the idea. Could perhaps the staff dress the part or the room have more decorative 1920s pieces eg the included cocktail/mocktail served in a cut glass goblet, which was a lovely touch. The food when we visited was tasty especially the savouries but perhaps a little more of it would be better value. Yes, the pavlova was chewy - maybe crisp it up and call it a meringue, the Knox Dainty I have never come across but it was super sweet. We would have appreciated the warm scones served a little later rather than right at the start to avoid cooling down, while we started on our savouries first. Also, tea had to be requested, served at the start would have been ideal. The wait staff were not friendly, engaging or attentive on our visit. Such a shame as it makes such a difference to served by people who seem happy to be there.More

To celebrate my 40th birthday I booked a table of 8 hoping we would be in the main area. We were seated next to the kitchen where we heard everything from the chef yelling out “service” to what sounded like the tenderizing of meat.. Walking...into the venue we were met by a young waitress who looked unhappy to be there, our main waiter came across as arrogant & not interested in our needs or requirements. A smile goes a long way in service. The staff don’t seem to be cohesive or have a positive professional relationship with each other. As for the food, some what basic and very limited savory. No hot option. Highly recommend providing more savory options or a beef Wellington for example & premium chocolates to finish. The chinaware was Royal Albert so that’s a plus. You need to upgrade your teapots to Royal Albert too! Stainless steel pots ruin the aesthetic.. The 1920s theme was hardly evident, there was 1 display of feathers on the counter. I expected their to be a vibe or some 1920s ambience with wait staff dressed up or tables decorated or even music but nothing. My salmon & cucumber canapé still had cling wrap on it I only found out when I was chewing on it! Lack of attention to detail. Overall my experience was lackluster, average & disappointing. Out of all the high teas in Auckland This I would rate at the bottom of the list.More
