When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked a table for 4 - food was great - large portions so were given a doggy bag to take away.... Quite a choice of alcoholic drinks but the mocktails/fruit juices were not all available so a little disappointing - maybe the time of year........It is very expensive even by Auckland prices but enjoyable so as a treat was ok but couldn't afford it regularly....More

Complete rip off. Had to wait an hour for outrageously priced small food, tasted fi e but literally twice the price it should have been. Don't bother, much better value elsewhere.

Right from the start we were a little dubious of how our dining experience would be. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation. I said no. The person greeting us ummmmed and arrred over a sheet of paper - a reservation...list? I said, “no problem we’ll go somewhere else”, and then suddenly a table was available. The restaurant was not very busy and did not get busier. We ordered a glass of wine each. The waiter returned to check which wine we had ordered. The wine took at least 10 mins to arrive. The menu looked interesting however mains were expensive and sides were extra so we opted to order a small plate each with a side. The tuna tartare was bland, plus the flavours of the accompanying foam and green caviar(?) were uninteresting. It came with some kind of seaweed poppadom was not edible. The side of red slaw with cider dressing was actually white cabbage with mayonnaise. The rabbit profiteroles were no better as they were actually a white non-descript meat in brioche buns. The side of mushrooms were rubbery and underwhelming. When we went to pay we found an extra glass of wine had been added to the bill. It was deducted when we pointed it out. Overall not a very happy dining experience.More

At first glance of menu, prices were reasonable, we had every intention of staying until we saw that the main menu didn't come with sides unless you paid $9 for each side so we averaged out it would cost a further $18 to each meal....Wine was pricy and was going to order until as mentioned above. We chose to leave and was met by the manager. We told him their menu set out was very cheeky and not transparent to the customer.More

This place needs a reservation… don’t risk it, very small seating area. Bartender… the most knowledgeable French man, kind, attentive, engaging, ease of multi tasking, was admirable… while he was with us, a few demanding people came with out reservations, and required a lot of...explaining. Cocktails were yummy, purple Paris was a first for me. Also fly me to the moon. We had the cheddar Mac n cheese… Filling, can’t fault, if you like Mac n cheese… King fish cappuccino, was 10/10 outstanding. Beautiful presentation Black tiger prawns were large, a tiny bit over done as the were hard to remove shells. But fresh. Chateaubriand steak… I was not as impressed as I thought , it was delicious, just a grainy. I’d go eye filet next time. Peppercorn sauce 10/10 Potato au gratin was 8/10, potatoes needed to be thinner… taste 10/10, We paid about $265 with beers and cocktails. Fantastic experienceMore

Excellent cocktails, perfectly cooked steak delicious side dishes and chips. Above all staff really friendly, helpful and engaged. French barman/manager made it a stand out evening , having provided some of the best restuarant service experienced in NZ over a 3 week holiday!! Request a...table at the front, near the bar, as the back of the restaurant is quite open and has less atmosphere. But what that lacks, the staff, service and quality of food more than ably provide.More

The jazz brought us back here. A good Caesar salad and chowder. Reasonable prices and very reasonably priced entry wines. Proper linen napkins. It's the small things that count. Good service. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

The staff were fantastic and steak was cooked to perfection. The wine list was very well priced with a good range of local, Australian and French wines.

Dined at the Wynyard Grill a few times during our visit to Auckland, really enjoyed the variety of steaks, all our meals were done perfectly, great cuts. Jonathan and his team were highly personable and provided great service.

I was disappointed with the quality of the food at this restaurant. In my opinion, it was no better than bar food. I was particularly embarrassed to have brought overseas guests to dine here after seeing the restaurant's name listed as a top steakhouse in...Auckland. The bread seemed to be of low quality and the tuna tartar was just tasteless frozen chopped tuna. Additionally, the cook did not seem to have the skills necessary to prepare a high-quality steak. We ordered wagyu, but the texture and taste were both unsatisfactory and the price was significantly higher than the value of the meal. Overall, this dining experience was a complete failure.More

We were in Auckland / NZ for a 11 day trip, and our dinner here was fantastic from start to finish. Great service, the staff was just right and accommodating. We ordered family style / sharing so we could get a good sampling of the...menu. The black tiger prawn was just delicious, as was the brie & chives mac and cheese. My highlight was a special version of the profiteroles, which were delicate and savory and left me wondering where I would ever find something like them again - I live 8000 miles away! Definitely retuning on my next trip to Auckland.More

This was our first dinner upon arriving in Auckland, and let me tell you -- it set a very high bar for all the subsequent meals of our 12-day trip! As you can tell from the photos, we went a tad overboard with ordering, but...it was worth every flavor-filled bite. My husband and I are pescatarians, and our favorites were the Kingfish Carpaccio, Brie & Chives Macaroni and Cheese, Koura (NZ Rock Lobster), Creamed corn brulee (genius), and massive thanks to the chef for swapping out the braised rabbit for strawberries in the Profiteroles, which was a highlight of our meal. Great ambiance, friendly staff, innovative flavors, beautiful presentation, generous portions, and a large menu suitable for meat and seafood eaters alike. We can't wait to come back!More

Visited last night with a large group incl colleagues and custs with a booking made some 3 months ago. Unfortunately it turned into one of the most shambolic restaurant visits I've ever had. Probably seated around 7pm Orders took approx 1 hour before they were...even taken. Entrees then started arriving just before 9pm... some entrees just simply didn't arrive. Mains start coming out around 10pm, meanwhile we're having to clear glasses / plates off the tables ourselves ! Two main meals (identical) simply didn't turn up, one being mine.... After some discussion they started the two missing meals, with one turning up after 15 or so minutes. Mine was "2-3 minutes" away.... By the time the other "missing meal" was finished being eaten I was still waiting ! At this stage it was well after 10pm and when I advised I was simply "over it" and I didn't want it, the maitre de was visibly angry and made it seem like it was my issue ! A member of our group was told mid way thru the service that they were "one chef down" but yet they continued to accept "walk in" custs who seemed to be served with little issue at all. They appeared to have enough wait staff, but everything looked very disorganised. We did receive a discount off the final bill, but it was never about the money more about the extremely poor service and the embarrassment in front of a large number of our custs. Quite frankly a very very disappointing evening and certainly not a restaurant I could comfortably recommendMore
