Was a last minute decision to head to this yummy new Thai / Asian Vegan in Milford. the lovely owner Alex took our booking via phone & made sure we were comfy & guided us through the food and drink choices. every dish was top notch. its not every day we try vegan but each of the four dishes we tried was delicious, reasonable & good portions
I was also impressed with their choice and support for local brews, (gotto try Kingsland's Urbanaut )
overall very happy with Khu Khu eatery even though we are not vegan.
Easy parking too on the main roads but make sure you ring ahead to reserve. Enjoy!

We had lunch today at Khu Khu & tasted the best vegan food I’ve had.
We have visited this place before & thought of having lunch today as well. Khu khu offer reasonably priced good sized tasty dishes. Four of us shared three dishes among us. We got our orders quickly as well. Beautifully presented.
Unforgettable ambience & cheerful staff!
Five star experience😊👍🏾.

I am not a vegan or vegetarian but had heard the food was great at Khu Khu, so my wife and I decided to give it a try. The food was outstanding and the service amazing. We had the Panang Curry and the Tempei Pad thai, the pad thai you would not realise that it is not meat. Really beautifully presented and have to say just outstanding, will definitely return

We were pretty excited to try this place.
The restaurant is small and can only seat limited amount of people.
Service was super bad. We have ordered drinks, 1 drink came and 10 min later the rest of them.
Ordered food and asked if everything could come at the same time so we could share, the person who was getting our orders said, the food comes when it comes, 😳
OK our first dish which was the panang curry arrived, it wasn't panang curry more like a yellow curry. It was super small portion for main dish full of uncooked vegetables. It served in a huge dish which was very shallow so in the pics it'll look like a decent portion but it's not. It was super underwhelming 🙄
Then we had to wait more 30 min for the rest of the dishes to arrive 1 by 1. So if we weren't sharing 1 person would have had their food and the rest had to watch.
The dishes were very small for vegan main, we all came out of the restaurant hungry.
It was way too expensive for what we had.
The only dish that tasted good was the drunken duck noodle but too small to even leave an impression
At the end we got the most expensive cookie, $6 per cookie, 😳 which tasted like cardboard
Thanks but no thanks.

Fabulous vegan food. Each dish gad a unique flavor profile We shared 4 starters and 4 mains betwen 4 if us and were delighted by each of them. "Beef" salad was probably the one we all enjoyed the most. Three dessert between us finished the meal off beautifully. Chocolate pud and cheesecake were incredible. Staff were wonderful and there when we needed them despite visiting during AUK Pride march when they were incredibly busy. Looking forward to our next visit

I ordered my meal online and picked it up at the restaurant at the designated time. The order was ready to go when I arrived. The food is interesting since everything was vegan.
The kumara spring rolls were quite full and went nicely with the chilli sauce. The pad Thai had a unique fragrance which I was assuming was from the tempeh. The noodles did get a bit gluggy but that was probably because it didn't travel well. The flavour was nice though and I did like the slightly crispy tempeh in with the noodles. The pad kaplao tofunky was nice. Nice flavour but was a bit disappointed it didn't come with rice. It had a nice combination of vegetables and I particularly enjoyed the mushrooms. The food was nice but I think ordering it spicier would've made it nicer.
The restaurant was quite small and really busy so booking might be needed if you were wanting to dine in. Quite a nice place for food and would like to try one of the curries for next time.

This eatery is a ‘not to be missed’ experience. The food is beautiful. As soon as it hits your tastebuds you will be wishing you put more on your plate. The atmosphere as soon as you walk in, is relaxing, casual and inviting. The waitstaff were friendly and engaging. The cardamom gin cocktail was also a real hit. Each dish we saw come out was incredibly well presented, making you salivate over other peoples choices. Vegan doesn’t get any better than this amazing restaurant.

What a fabulous experience! The dishes were vibrant in colour and clean in presentation. The freshness and fragrance of the ingredients make your taste buds celebrate. The texture and mouthfeel of the vegan protein entirely convincing. Highly recommended the King Duck, Chicken sweet & sour and the Pork Belly. The service is very friendly and prompt, without being pushy. Best vegan Thai on the North Island if not in the country!

Devine vegan food and just the right quantities. Kumara Spring Rolls to start followed by the pork belly and spicy drunken duck noodles. Truly full of flavour and the service (and cocktail) was good as well. Small dining area but meals didn’t take long. We will be back

Small menu but absolutely fabulous food. The fried daikon was terrific with great flavoured sauce. Drunken noodles with”duck” were terrific. The food is really tasty and great presentation. Even though I’m a carnivore I loved it. Some of the tastiest food I’ve had for ages

Used a grabone and was blown away with this place. Casual, excellent food and very friendly service, quite popular too. Limited menu which is actually great so not too overwhelmed with choice. We're not vegan so was even more taken with the amazing flavours! Had the corn fritters, summer rolls, spring rolls and papaya salad-all were great but we liked the fritters the most. Washed it all down with some kombucha. Don't think they have a liquor license so no booze. Reasonably priced with quick service, would happily return.

Came here every other day throughout our tip in Akl and we tried almost all the dish that they had too. Authentically Thai despite they are vegan. Be sure to ask for extra chilli powder if you like more spice! Wonderful food and service that won't disappoint you. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic new eatery. Friend and I had curry corn fritters, summer rolls, papaya salad, purple rice and panang curry. So so good and left so full. Maybe uncomfortably full haha. Wait staff were great and very attentive. Will be back!

I love this place. Had the summer rolls and papaya salad and both were awesome. Great staff and quick service meant I wasn’t waiting around watching everyone eat. Reasonable prices with an appealing decor. Definitely coming back in a group. Start with cocktails then hit the menu. Didn’t try the curry but everything that came out looked fantastic.

Ate here as part of a large group. The place was full (always a good indicator), but despite this the service was excellent. We had a range of shared dishes and all were eaten with relish. Best vegan food I've ever tasted.
