Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Auckland is struggling amid the post pandemic inflationary period - so to encourage patronage, Huami is currently offering a Golden Hour menu during the first seating hour of the evening. If you have never tried Huami and were put off by the more expensive Huami...Nectar package then this is the alternate tasting menu to introduce you to the amazing world of Cantonese cuisine excellence. For $68 per person, you get an incredible tasting of Huami’s finest dishes. You begin with two of their surreal truffled shrimp dumplings followed by two more siu mai! And if that isn’t enough value, they even offer 2 Shanghai soup dumplings. If you are not impressed by the amount of soup they manage to pack into a tiny little dumpling then nothing will ever please you! Then you finish with their 3 mains: gorgeous pomelo giant fried shrimp. A zesty sweet and sour chicken. And you may as well just tell them to pack the combination fried rice to go becoz you will have it for lunch tomorrow. Not sure how much longer Golden Hour will run but I hope this lower price point tasting menu remains. An excellent introduction to the world of Huami. And see another part of the complex culture that is Chinese.More

I will probably come back to Auckland just to have another meal at Huami. I stayed at Auckland for three days and had dinner at Huami my first day and lunch my third day. The food is excellent and the service is second to none....I haven’t tasted Chinese food this good, even in Hong Kong.More

Dined here in the Perrier-Jouët Garden. Lovely dim sum options with a great deal on the champagne. Lovely setting under the lanterns. Food was tasty and authentic. But arguably the best thing about Huami is the service. Everyone we spoke to and served us was...friendly, attentive and professional. Excellent staff and interesting food, made for such a nice evening.More

This place is restaurant and bar, one side is restaurant, one side is bar. the waiters shuttle between serving food in the restaurant and alcohol in the bar. The place was crowded when we arrived so the manager arranged for us to sit in the...bar, i am fine with that. It seems that reservations are preferred. We ordered dim sum which we find average. I like the black pepper beef cubes, so tender.More

It used to be the place for the best Peking Duck in Auckland when I visited a couple of times before, now it is the worst Peking duck you can get in Auckland or anywhere else in NZ. The skin of the duck is not...just not crispy but when you pick it up with chopsticks, it flops and folds!!! complaint to the staffs and they said they will notify the chef?! Not expecting a free duck but at least an apology or explanation from the chef or a discount, nothing happened. Rest of the food is ok so give it a 2 instead of 1 . Really disappointed and won't go back again! My friends will not believe my recommendations any moreMore

We enjoyed the dinner at Huami on our last night in Auckland. The restaurant is well staffed to ensure prompt service. The quality of food is average but we liked their dessert though. We also tried their Baijiu ice cream which is interesting.

Restaurant serves top quality food in a very classy seating but we often enjoy a light meal and the bar menu is perfect! A selection of deliciously plump dumplings presented in a gorgeous cage with absolute supreme service. Kudos to James for recognising us from...previous visits and securing seating for us at a table more suited to my mums needs - really thoughtful! James has always given us the very best service and makes us feel like stars! Thank you so much.More

Want a fancy night out? Huami is perfect! Incredible, authentic Chinese cuisine with a "Western" twist. They have jellyfish on the menu, but they also have fried rice! The food, service and prices are 5 star, but what I really love about Huami is the...cocktail bar! The most beautiful, perfectly made, and tasty cocktails, presented with love and care. Their bar menu is amazing too. The Pork Bau buns are delicious. When we dined, the Maitre D was so friendly and chatted to us about life in China and tried to convince me to try the jellyfish... if I was adventurous I would, but I'm too basic. Great place to dine, and the casino is right next door for some added fun afterwards!More

The food was excellent. Had the set menu which I would have again. Generous portions and absolutely delicious food. Only criticism was that it was a bit rushed. Would ask for a longer period between courses the next time. Service was good. I think this...must be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Auckland.More

Service was poor. We were asked for a drink order within five minutes of sitting down before we even had a chance to look at the menu. Waiter didn’t seem to know any of the menu. Then all of our food arrive before a Cocktails...had even arrived at the table. Food was very average, fried rice in particular was extremely bland. Duck was good but all other fried dishes lacked flavour- the squid was particularly bad. There was then a 10min wait to pay at the door where patrons didn’t seem to be processed very efficiently. All in all, for the price, it was extremely disappointing meal. We’ve had tastier food and better service at a quarter of the price in Balmoral.More

Huami was an amazing food and dining experience. As first timers to Huami we were so impressed. Our waiter was so efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. He seemed to know exactly when we needed him. The huami nectar set menu was perfect for us not knowing...the menu. Every dish was utter perfection and we savored every delicious mouthful. Upon paying we were offered advice to try the lunchtime yum cha. You can guarantee we will be back again to continue experiencing this delicious menu.More

A very well presented restaurant in the typical style of a big international hotel. Great decor and comfortable spacious tables. The food was not outstanding as I expected. The fried rice with char siew and prawns had 2 very small bits of char siew, very...little egg was too oily and lacked flavour. The siew mail dumplings were poorly shaped and too big. Most of the dishes where OK but its not up to the standard of a top Hong Kong yum cha. Service was excellent.More
