Reasonable prices and tasty food. Head downstairs to this great little bar and restaurant. Service was pleasant and our food came out in good time. Would be happy to come back.

Four of us ordered so much food and it was so good we ate everything. It was pretty quick with food to the table and the staff were excellent. I’ll definitely be back.
During my many business visits to Tokyo I had a favorite Yakitori bar close to the Shimbashi railway station. As soon as we walked into the Yakitori House in Shortland street, I felt comfortable. It looked right and smelt right. The menu was similar to...what I was used to in Shimbashi, the service was good and the food excellent. Japanese middle of the road/Pop music added to the ambiance and I felt transported back to Japan. This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant I have been in outside of Japan. Not posh, just a knock about place were office workers gather in the evening for a drink and quick meal, before catching the train home. Loved it!More
Good location and extremely friendly staff. Tried sparkling plumb wine jelly which was worth the try. The food itself is rather average unfortunately. Soft shell crabs were incredibly small and the Karaage chicken a bit dry. Not bad for what you pay for though.
Excellent experience! Got in to Auckland late on a Saturday evening. Called at 9pm and they were happy to accommodate us. Would generally go to Tanukis Cave but they were full and to be honest we are glad we tried this place and will now...return to here in future instead. Tucked in next to Domino's near Fort St and head down stairs and opens into dining room and bar area. Bar leaner type seating or sit down table/booths. The service was excellent, the food excellent and pricing wise, very affordable. Actually very cheap! The staff were friendly and accommodating and it was overall a great experience. Nice and roomy dining room and the food was quick and beers are cheap too. Was a large group there so I would say this place would be perfect for couples, families, groups, whatever the occasion. Highly recommended and like I said, this will be the new go to for Japanese in Auckland. Keep up the good work team! P.S - The Moro Dogs were amazing! Add them to the menu not just specials!More
Ate dinner here in late January 19, and what a little gem. Food was authentic, well presented and not too expensive. The staff were very friendly and my only regret was that I didn’t get a chance to go back for another meal. Highly recommended.
This place was great. Really brings back memories of Japan. Food was authentic and tasted great. Really well priced and service was top notch. Definitely worth a visit.
There is no words to describe how much I love this place! Everything from food to atmosphere is A+. I Ve been to this place before under previous management and I'm glad to say that in hands of current owners this place is flourishing. I'm...a huge fan of Japanese food n visited Japan number of times and can say with full responsibility that this is one of the best Japanese restaurant in Auckland(that alone says a lot).they have chef straight from Japan and duty manager who is very professional at his job. I recommend this place to all fans of good food 😊More
Great authentic looking and tasting yakitori restaurant in Auckland's CBD. Chefs are all from Japan and they cook over charcoal not gas, for that authentic flavour. Great service, great people, great food and great value - with dishes changing regularly. Highly recommended.
I walked into domino’s pizza to order a pizza and saw this interesting looking bar downstairs. I wandered down and was happy and surprised to see what looked like a very traditional Japanese style bar. I had an Asahi beer and the Yaki Udon, along...with the scotch fillet skewers. All the food was so tasty (especially the dipping sauce), the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was really cosy. Didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to go back with friends and try some saki!More
