Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely delicious ramen and other Japanese food for very good prices. Service was fantastic as well. Staff were quick to serve and explained food and drink. The miso soup (NZ$4) was an amazing broth nothing like the instant stuff of sushi bars. All the ramen...(from NZ$13) with their different soup bases were great and generous in size and the gyoza met my son’s approval. My daughter loved her meal so much she thanked the chef. Strongly recommend.More

Been visited many Japanese restaurant around Auckland and only this Tanpopo Ramen at 13 Anzac ave is the best ramen (so far). I order a miso ramen and my husband some other ramen with a lots of vegies. Both are delicious, the soup so tasty....Plus few pcs of bbq pork, which is make the ramen even more delicious. The price really affordable and worth with size portion. The manager /staff are really friendly and helpful. Really recommended if you looking for Japanese dishes. And yeah, the location is easy to find. Guarantee not gonna lost.. :-) CheersMore

The title say it all. Soup was thick, yes, and taste was intense. I didn't use good because it's broth was MSG, one could tell. There was no different from many other Chinese noodle shops, but at least I could pick those really hand pulled,...which was the meaning of 'Ra'. I didn't think this one was really, 'Ra'. So, if I can choose between one hand pulled and one bulk based noodles, and both cooked in MSG soup, I would choose the real, 'Ra' one.More

This place is quite small and often crowded but that's because the food good is good. Itas located on the ground floor of my apartment building. I've waited a time before trying the food as its often packed full.

Went here for an early dinner before going out to a show, on the way from the hotel where we were staying. Very casual, low key, good prices and the food is alright.

I have a severe peanut and nut allergy and I must admit this was one of those few restaurants where I felt safe to eat food. The restaurant manger took my allergy very seriously and that’s all you want when you eat out. Amazing food...and can’t wait to eat there again.More

If you like Japanese food you can't go wrong here. As soon as you enter you are greeted by all the staff. Not big on vegan but the one veggie dish was wonderful and will be eating there next time we're in Auckland

I went there with my husband when I was 3 month pregnant, eager for some noodles and we chose Tanpopo in Glenfield, I used to go to central one but first time been to Glenfield one, was expecting same experience but sadly not at all....With clear instruction and double confirming the waitress understood what I was asking (please make sure everything is cooked thoroughly as I was 3 months pregnant), the waitress said yes she understood and repeated what I said, I was grateful, however my noodles came just as regular ones with RAW beansprouts all over the soup....the noodles were over cooked though? I don't think I will ever come back again.More

I used to sing the praises of Ramen-Do up on Symonds street to anyone who would care to hear... but that was when I lived in the neighborhood and could go there easily. I work in the eastern area of the Auckland CBD and Tanpopo...is an easy walking distance for me. About six months ago, I started visiting this temple of ramen and I've been hooked ever since. My favorite- Miso Tonkotsu, made spicy with kim-chi. This has become my number one destination for ramen and I look forward to each and every time I go there. For $15-16 you get a large bowl of flavoursome broth and noodles that have the texture you dream of. The staff is attentive and you can customize your dish with thicker noodles, ask for half noodles to avoid carbs and select from a variety of additional ingredients. I always leave happy and sated- such a comfort on a cold, rainy day. Thank you, staff of Tanpopo!More

Went here on a Sunday night. This was our second visit after first visiting last year. Last year the ramen was tasty and the service was decent. This visit the ramen and service were both very average. Ordered the chashu shoyu ramen and also gyoza....We had to wait ages to be served and the waitress seemed to forget we were there. The gyoza never arrived. The ramen tasted 5 out of 10 compared to other ramen I've had. The broth was bland and had very little flavour. The pork was thin and dry and my partner only got 1 small slice of pork. Disappointing. Will not return. We ended up finishing half our meal only and walking down the street to get pizza instead.More
