Friendly, professional staff. Gorgeous ambience. White linen napkins, classily set tables but unpretentious. Complimentary house made sourdough was fluffy in inside, crunchy crust - perfect! I don’t usually like olive oil on my bread but it was delicious at Foglia din Fico. Mushroom arancini best we’ve ever had. Crumbs were as crunchy as tempered chocolate, soft oozy cheese and mushroom complemented it perfectly. Octopus pasta special very tasty; delicious soft pasta. The octopus similarly tender but I would have liked more octopus and less potato. My daughter’s pasta bolognese was another delicious meal. She loved the tempered white chocolate atop refreshing strawberry gelato. The house made biscotti was a tasty, light, crunchy accompaniment to my coffee. The serves were generous and it would be helpful if they were a little smaller to warrant ordering a salad. My daughter and I both would have liked salad but we wouldn’t have been able to eat it. The atmosphere was relaxed, rustic yet contemporary and suitable for both romantic encounters and larger groups. I have already recommended Foglia di Fico to family, and would definitely return.

We were a group of nine and dined here on the Saturday night in March just before all restaurants were closed. Restaurant has some great dining spaces that accommodate both large tables and smaller tables as well as intimate tables for two in small alcoves. We were seated in the corner area facing onto busy La Trobe and Spencer Streets but did not hear any of the traffic outside notwithstanding the significant number of trams that went past. Menu was extensive and all of the dishes were of a good size and very tasty. As entrees we shared Arancini, polpette, salumi misti, octopus, trout and an insalata Caprese (all of which were priced from $21.50 to $28.50). All were good but I think the standouts for me were the Aranchini and the octopus. As mains, six of us had the pork belly special ($40.50) which was excellent. The others had risotto ($33.50), capellacci di Mare ($38.50) and the tagliolini with seafood (also $38.50). Sides were homemade potato, a rocket salad and vegetables which were priced between $10.50 and $11.50).Everyone enjoyed the meals that they had ordered and several could not finish them as the portion sizes were plentiful. Wine list was quite extensive with wines at a good number of price points. We had a couple of good bottles of Chianti which were $69 per bottle. Service was very friendly and efficient. Bill with drinks at the start, which included glasses of sparkling wine, beer, wine and Baileys, entrees, main meals, four desserts, two bottles of wine and a couple of coffees came to just under $900 which, at $100 a head which we thought was fantastic value given the quality of the food. Will absolutely dine here again when the venue reopens and we are next in Melbourne.

They're open!! I have been eagerly awaiting this restaurant to reopen. Same attentive staff, same amazing food and few extra COVID safety measures put into place to keep us all safe. Open 5 days a week for dinner only. But there is also the added fresh pasta section for you to pick up beautiful pasta on your way home, open 5 days from 3pm, enter via LaTrobe Street.

Just simply one of the best in town it makes Spencer St sparkle. The welcome is warm and inviting, the service is excellent with a smile without being intrusive the servers knew their product well. The food was delicious, fresh and generous in serving. Reasonably priced for the top quality and they have great wine list a mixture of wine from Italy and local vineyards in Australia. Abigail's service was excellent but so wash the other lady and man behind the bar. Highly recommended this for a nice ambience, food and service.

We ate here for dinner as a family of four. We all felt like Italian & seafood. This placed tucked both of these boxes plus more! Service was impeccable, ambiance was intimate and good was faultless. The kids both had gnocchi which was melt in your mouth. My husband & I both had a seafood pasta which was fresh and generous. We were very impressed with this restaurant and dined here after reading others reviews so THANK YOU!

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Melbourne if not Australia. We had the 5 course degustation menu and it was just perfect. Each course was very nicely introduced by the staff with detailed descriptions of the ingredients. The menu was very well balanced with the right portion size. The flavours were amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. All this for a very acceptable price. Highly recommended!

I’ve enjoyed their food and service for the first time after the long lockdown. Their food is always perfect and the service will make you feel like you are so welcome like family. This time I brought my friend who never been in fine dining restaurant. She was very happy with the service also too impressed by the food. Love this place!

There were six of us who dined here on a Saturday night. We were given a choice of tables and chose a secluded one, to the side of the main entrance and just outside the toilets, as our host had advised that the restaurant was going to be full and it could get noisy. It was a good choice in terms of noise however as we were out of the main part of the restaurant we seemed to be a little neglected in terms of service and there was also a minor hiccup in the kitchen which resulted in two of the mains being delayed. The staff though, when we did get their attention, were very friendly. The menu was such that we all had difficulty in choosing dishes as they all looked delicious. Between us for starters we had the rainbow trout, the pan seared scallops, the char grilled octopus, vitello tonnato, the aranchini and the veal and pork meatballs. Everyone thought that their choice was excellent. As mains we had the duck risotto - delicious, the lamb and the chicken. We were all too full to have dessert. Wine list was quite varied with a mix of Italian and Australian wines. We will definitely visit again.

Just had a beautiful take away meal, Jerry is so good as a chef and is still putting together some delicious food for us to take home or back to the office. Only available from 11.30am-5.00pm unless sold out. Grab yourself some freshly cooked restaurant quality food, or get some freshly made pasta to take home for dinner.

Nice table , friendly wait staff who knew the menu well. Very professional. What I like about this restaurant is that the staff are efficient but don’t keep “checking” and asking questions like “how’s your meal” etc. We liked that. Okay the food is awesome - my wife’s prawn pasta was superb and my lamb was the best I’ve had. Actually the portions are large - I don’t think i could have eaten an entree. I had a chianti by the glass which was terrific and my wife had a pino Grigio also excellent. Really can’t fault this place. Will return!

Right from the minute we walked in the door the service was excellent, the menu was superb (not the usual old staples) When our food arrived it was presented well with perfectly sized proportions and the taste was fantastic. If you've not had Ox tongue ( Lingua) before, give it a try, possibly one of the best entrees I've ever had, followed by the Toothfish (Pesce) main which was perfectly cooked. Overall the entire evening was a great experience and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to have a romantic dinner for 2. Make sure you call and book in advance as this place is very popular and I think will become even more so in the future.

I recommend this restaurant because they truly care and listen to their customers feedback and go out of their way to meet the customer expectations. Excellent customer service. They are willing (and did) go the extra mile to customise any dish to their customer's preferences. All 3 courses came out perfectly. However, I only enjoyed 2 out of 3 dishes due only to my personal tastes and even though I certainly didn't need them too, they went out of there way to ensure my expectations were met with the chef coming out to talk with me and then offered twice to remake my dish to my expectations, which he did. The staff were fantastic, prompt and professional and will do anything for their guests. 5/5 would come back again.

Amazing food and service!! We had the 5 course chefs degustation menu - absolutely faultless!! Inventive quality food that heroes the best of Italian gastronomy but in a modern international way. Really happy we also chose the matching wines as this was a truly memorable experience. The chef/owner continued to check in personally and the wait staff really knew his wines. Romantic dinner that will be remembered as one of the very best meals ever!! We were only staying in Melbourne for the weekend so pleased we pre-booked this restaurant based on previous reviews.

Authentic and beautiful Italian food . Each dish we ordered was well presented and wonderful flavours . Atmosphere was nice and cosy . The waitress was very attentive , noticing that we didn’t eat olives for entree and knew that the main dish had olives , so she asked the chef to use another vegetable . Sensational service . Boss should be happy with staff like this . Loved how the sharing plates for main course were hot. Thumbs up and have already posted and recommended to friends . We ordered scallops which were perfectly cooked , squid ink with prawns which also perfectly cooked , pasta ragu was heaven and beef was tender and juicy .

We selected this restaurant for a special occasion - a birthday. I made sure I booked a month in advance. It has a beautiful interior. We had a cosy nook by the window. The service from the young waitress was excellent. The pacing of the service was faultless. I felt that the food was really good without reaching the heights of greatness. One of us felt that his steak was a bit small: on the other hand, my lamb fillet was a shareably generous size. My partner said her toothfish was good but nothing special. To give you an idea of the prices, our bill was $460 for 5 entrees and 4 mains, including $115 for drinks. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
