A great restaurant with a point of difference. While people may write that it’s a bit expensive - as a one of treat its well worth it. Entertaining chefs cook really delicious food in front of you plus add a few party tricks in between. You won’t leave hungry!! Of particular note - our waiter for the night. - Leonardo (Leo) was brilliant. Extremely friendly and nothing was an issue for him. He is an asset to the restaurant and hope this review is passed on to him.

We were on holiday in Surfers Paradise, staying at the Marriott, so when I spotted the ad for Misono Japanese Steakhouse, we decided that it was something that we wanted to experience. Our experience started poorly when they mucked up our booking and we had to wait half an hour for the next sitting. We had the "Splash & Meadow." The chefs who entertain us as they prepare our meals are very talented in both these fields. The prawns were very good and the steak was tender, but their special "HC Rice" dish which was heavily promoted, was nothing special and overpriced. I was taught table manners and not to waste food, so I did not take part in the food throwing. An experience that we have had but will not need to repeat.

It was very entertaining. I took my family with three kids. Jeffrey was our chef, he was good. Initially i thought it was very expensive as the banquet prices (54-90) is per head which is ambiguous when you look at the menu. Wine STARTS at 50 a bottle. They are obviously catering to a higher class clientelle. You will probably spend at least $300, but in the end it was worth it as the lobster and wagyu was nice, and we left more than content.

As a customer to the Hotel and being booked via the Vacation Club we were provided with a discount voucher to the Misono restaurant. The meal was good, entertaining, however it was almost a speed date situation. We had finished in less than 25 minutes. IT felt like they needed the table for the next wave of guests. What was the unpleasant experience was paying for the meal with the supplied discount voucher. We provided the voucher at the end of the meal and there was told no discount as we were a booking for 5. Aparently in the fine print this is only valid for 4 people to get a discount. Bearing in mind we were 2 adults and 3 kids, one wjho is only 5 years old. I said why not disciount based on 4 people and we will pay the 5th - This received a flat out NO. After a period of time, I sent my family back to their rooms because the process of sorting this out was taking far too long. After 10 minutes and a Manager, I negotiated an outcome. This should not have even occurred. It was a welcome gift for staying in the hotel, which turned out to be invalid for my family. The relaxing evening ended differently.

Me and my girls had an impromptu dine out but as we didn’t booked ahead and cause this restaurant easily get fully booked we were greeted by Wonjun (the host of the night) gladly took us in and offered us the option to dine in at sushi bar as we would have to wait long if we want a table at the teppanyaki. We know that their night is hectic and busy when the host has to attend sushi and whiskey bar and the cashier (Lowrence) has to help hosting as well. Chef Albert made sure that we won’t go home unsatisfied by making delicate yet delicious sushi(s). We were stuffed and were entertained by his professionalism. I would like to acknowledge and my sincere appreciation of their great service, could not complain at all. Kudos to Wonjun, Lowrence and chef Albert for making our night; you guys served us well. I would definitely come back! P.s: photo below is tonight’s superstars. Ambiance: relaxing as they only play instrumental music. Good area to chill and talk. Food: 5 star Staffs: very professional Cost: $$ as it is one of the restaurant inside the luxury hotel Would I recommend it? Yes, definitely!

This is the fifth time in the last few years we have eaten here, starting when it was still called Beni Hani’s. It has simply gotten better and better over the years! What was good: the food is exceptional, portion sizes are generous and feels like reasonable value for money. The wait staff are very friendly and the talented chefs clearly enjoy what they’re doing. It’s very entertaining with some clear talent on display. What could be improved; It is a very busy restaurant so the service can at times be a bit slow. Our only recommendation is to let the entertainment be the talented chefs and not the competing music from each table. Lots and lots of fun but with all the loud competing music, not a great place for a first date.

I have eaten at this restaurant when it was Beni Hana and now Misono easily over 50 times and have recommended this restaurant to countless people. Sadly this last visit will definitely be our last. My mother made the birthday booking with the hotel, first mistake because they gave my mother the wrong information regarding dining certificates and also lost our booking. Got there early, bar under renovation so couldn’t have a drink then got stuffed around with discount 🙄 Not off to a good start and the food hasn’t even come out yet!!! Should of left then and there because the nearly $500 bill was totally ridiculous considering the steak was inedible ( thank god for dipping sauce) Since the Marriot opened this has been our go to with friends and family, not anymore 😢

Had a lovely meal with the family visiting from New York. Teppanyaki meal in an intimate room with the staff very friendly and happy to deal with young children, though we did eat early (5:30pm). Despite that it was very noisy from other birthday parties in other rooms. Food quality was great but rather rushed but everyone enjoyed the teppanyaki experience.

Shocking service. After ordering for the whole family more than $300 food (including a teppanyaki banquet) and drinks to start our night, we were asked to move from the teppanyaki table and sit in the sushi bar! Its never happened before, but we walked out in disgust before the night began. Come on guys get your heads screwed on! If you have stricted requirements (i.e. mandatory banquets rather than individual meals) then be upfront about it before taking bookings!

I’ve been fortunate enough to dine here on 2 seperate occasions but both with my partner and his 3 kids whilst on family holiday. Although we had two different experiences. The first time, the 5 of us were in a seperate room, with others around the grill, and were entertained by two great chefs! Music, dancing, tricks and plenty that the kids loved. The second time, we were sat in a large room, with only the 5 of us around our hot plate, and many other groups in the same room at seperate hot plates around us. Our chef (who was one of the first ones on our first visits) was good, and still did a few tricks and entertaining, but no music or much dancing etc. The food was still good, but we couldn’t help but watching across the hall at 2 larger groups and their chefs who had music going, dancing, cracking jokes etc, which was very much like the first time we went. It just wasn’t the same experience the second time around, and whilst still enjoyable, I’d recommend when you book, ask to be seated in the main areas with a large group, wherever chef Jeffrey is if possible. Both times the bill was still over $400 for the 5 of us, and that was with 2 kids banquets @ $33 each. I believe you will still enjoy for a special occasion. Hope this helps

Group of 9 (family) visiting from Tassie decided to have dinner at Misono as we had heard great reviews and were excited to have our first Teppanyaki experience. The customer service was very good, greeted us promptly, took our orders and delivered our beverages and regularly checked if we were after any more drinks. Our chef was Kieran (or close to that name anyway) he was really funny, extremely entertaining and an amazingly good chef! Everyone ordered a banquet and I personally ordered the Imperial Banquet (can recommend!). This banquet consisted of fresh seafood and succulent Wagyu beef. If that was not the most amazingly cooked and flavoursome beef I’ve ever tasted I don’t know what is. Everyone was blown away by the standard of the food, no-one went hungry and everyone rated it 10/10. I personally was amazed at the Hibachi vegetables. I don’t eat zucchini but the way the zucchini was prepared I devoured it and wanted more! The whole experience was flawless and an absolutely 10/10! Honestly would recommend this place to everyone and we’ll certainly be back when we’re in QLD again!

We have been here a few times and we were really disappointed this time. You were shuttled through so quickly. From the time we arrived to the time we left was 1 hour. The prices were a good 30% higher than on the website and you got these bits of paper for the menus' None of the food was seasoned esp the beef which was really a shame. The chef we had tried his best but just wasn't a great night for him. The special rice we paid for had no taste and it was very annoying that they started cleaning up around us before we had even left.

It was our first time coming here since the JW renovation. We opt in for the sushi bar, chef Albert’s was so attentive, he made such yummy sushis and the presentation was on point. Wonjun and Lowrence was helpful as well, they took our orders promptly, they made sure that we have everything and checked on us. John the bartender made such a great Yuzu Margaritas!!! YUMMM! The ambience of the restaurant is also welcoming! Can’t wait to be back here again. Thank you.

What I love about Misono is that they play music while creating a gastronomic delight! - (your chef lets you choose the music line-up), so as they are cooking, you are also singing along to your favourite music (80's for us!). The whole restaurant joins in unison, the food is spectacular and the entire experience is super entertaining...the chefs are brilliant, funny and talented as chefs and performers! Absolutely highly recommend this restaurant on your GC visit .

Excellent choice for food with sizzle. Literally. Plenty of menu options with Waygu steak, filet steak, lobster, prawns, salmon. We chose the filet steak and prawn option. And added fried rice . Ingredients looked beautiful and the expertise of the chef made a grand meal. The banquet includes miso soup, salad, appetizer of zucchini/shrimp/onions. Our group felt well fed. The only criticism was the high level of noise and since we have last done one of these type meals, the chefs have added a music playlist to accompany their cooking and add to the noise. Tables are set for eight and the dining companions are just luck. Overall fun night out about $50 pp without drinks.
