A good cafe dinner to watch the sunset or just chill out at any time. Good menu, friendly staff who looked after our family of four adults and two toddlers. Fresh grilled fish, great choice of other seafood as well as vegetarian and meat options. They were very flexible and made sure we had good seats with plenty of shade to enjoy the best views. Fast efficient service. Went twice whilst on holiday in the NT.

We found our way here for lunch after visiting the military museum on a cloudless, sunny day. The location here is perfect and therefore extremely popular - the staff were run off their feet but maintained a friendly, professional manner throughout. Brunch is served until 2:30pm and we took the opportunity for a lovely, light brunch at lunch time. Well worth the drive out from Darwin and then you can take a short walk around the headland to take in the glorious views.

Nice spot for a coffee with plenty of parking next to the Nightcliff Pool, and it always seems busy. The music inside is quite loud. We have had a couple of meals here and been a bit disappointed; today the ‘Buddha’ or ‘Veggie Bowl’ was watery and bland. Left most of it. The corn fritters were pretty good. Will probably just have a coffee in future.

Great location, very average food
Coffee was half empty due to the waiter spilling it all. Eggs were under poached. Balsamic drissle should be left in the 90s. Sweet potato puree has no place on any menu especially on a eggs Benedict. Best location in Darwin, wish the food and service could match.

Firstly I’ll apologise to Jay’s Coffee who I usually get my Saturday morning caffeine fix from. Certainly won’t be back to this place. Walked my dog & stopped here for a coffee. Went searching for dog water bowl, staff all busy and when I asked a girl she said she hadn’t seen any. Grabbed a plastic cup and filled it with water while I waited on coffee. Gave dog a drink and bloke from behind coffee section started shouting at me to stop, I tried to explain & he just shouted over me shook his head and demanded the cup back. Dude it’s a plastic cup, it’s 32 degrees and my dog is thirsty. Maybe instead of shouting at paying customers, sort your sh*t out and make sure your dog bowls are out. Being an aggressive mess is not gonna win ye customers. Anyway coffee was also pretty average so go to Jay’s at the jetty for great customer service, a dog bowl full of water & excellent coffee.

A friendly friendly environment with good service & music (on a Saturday anyway). Personally, I could have done without the music as loud although nice songs.
Barramundi was tops as was the mango daiquiri so if you are looking for a casual atmosphere where kids can play on the lawn, this would work.

Located on the Nightcliff foreshore, this cafe is popular with the locals and visitors a like.
Food is of reasonable standard, the coffee/drinks and setting is the main attraction for this place.
Staff generally welcoming, although one staff member seemed to be having a bad day and gave me the impression that they didn’t want to be there (not a good look if they were managing the place). Owned by the same people who have the Cool Spot in Fannie Bay, which have friendlier staff - yes people do have their bad days and I hope this was just a one off.
Very busy on the weekends.

Great food with great views. Normally the two don’t go together but it does at the Foreshore. The place is very casual and you order at the counter with food and drinks brought to your table. The sudden view is amazing. We didn’t expect great food but we pleasantly surprised. The Pork was sensational and my Seafood plate was really good. Not cheap but Definitely worth a visit

Situated on the Nightcliff foreshore next to the swimming pool, there were a lot of Mums with Bubs in prams during lunch time. Tables available inside, outside undercover and outside under sails (semi cover). The eggs poached and scrambled on toast were tasty as was the coffee. Very very quick delivery of food.

We booked a table for 10 on the deck, when we arrived I was told to pick two of the 4 tables set up on the deck (5-6 seats on each). That was not ideal for us to celebrate my fathers retirement from two seperate tables so we moved them together ourselves. You have to go up to order and then wait for even your drinks to be delivered.
However the food was delicious as was the sunset. I had the lamb rack. Live music was also a nice touch.
After we sorted our tables we had a really enjoyable time with delicious food.

Beautiful waterfront view. Food was also beautiful. We went for Saturday brunch. I had the Ocean Trout Salad and it was healthy and delish. Husband had the smashed avocado and poached eggs and that was also delish. We also ordered fresh juice and an Acai frappe and both were awesome. Healthy portions, fresh ingredients, great value and beautiful setting. Beautiful experience and will definitely go back when I’m in Darwin again. Highly recommend.

I'm a regular at the Foreshore. The staff are very friendly and helpful. However, I think feedback is important. Tonight was a birthday event and our meals arrived at the table at different times. I'm not sure how difficult it is to get all the meals to arrive at the table within one minute of each other. Can you do it? It is really unpleasant to find you have your beautiful steak but the birthday girl's meal has not arrived and 10 minutes later still hasn't arrived. I think you can do better foreshore cafe. Why should we have to ask for a meal? Why is it that we have table numbers if the meals for that table are prepared altogether. Plus the meal my friend asked for did not arrive and she had to explain and discuss with the waitress (who was really lovely, patient and kind) what was ordered. So tonight a 3/10 for service. Very unusual. I hope they act on this feedback.

The cafe was very busy with tables being a premium commodity. You could see staff were definitely under the pump, but they remained polite and friendly.
We decided to order a late breakfast including a Hippy Bowl. The few mushrooms in it were very tasty, and apart from a few other veges, it was mostly plain mixed beans. There was no dukkah as per the menu and the tiniest smear of beetroot hummus that was not thick enough to scrape off the inside edge of the bowl.
My toast was burnt on one side, with that side being placed down on my meal, which I thought was a bit cheeky.
The Troppo juice was excellent and refreshing, however I could only taste watermelon and none of the other ingredients listed.
This is such a lovely venue and very popular and I want to say I’ll give it another go the next time we are in the area, but it might just be for a takeaway coffee.

A friend put us on to this place and we went for breakfast twice during our week stay in Darwin. Friendly service and a good menu. I was a bit bemused though when I requested a shot of soda water with my espresso that I was required to purchase a bottle. Tried different dishes on both visits and was impressed both times. Good vegetarian options. Good vibe and dog friendly an lovely spot for breakfast. A very popular cafe.

This was very chilled, quality, casual dining.
A gentle breeze, an airy sea shore setting. We arrived early evening expecting to wait as it was quite busy, but there were still a couple of free tables. The place has a pleasant buzz about it, family friendly but not crazily so, there was a music act on, but they added to the good vibe (not always the case).
If there was to be a long wait, we’d have ordered take out (they offer take away).
Also unlike the ‘normal’ dining experience, there’s no dedicated front of house “bossing”. Instead we were free to choose the table we preferred - refreshing.
The pleasant team on the serving counter hand over a menu for you to make your choices. You pay with your orders - one of the other different things about this eatery. Order and pay for drinks straight away, or go to your table and choose food drink together at your leisure - up to you.
The menu is pretty simple, with quite a variety of wines, and a few well chosen beers (the Lashes ale is a very decent ale, refreshing but with great flavour), and very well made cocktails (the mango daiquiri was tasty).
We ordered the prosciutto wrapped barramundi, and the local fish, grilled with lemon, served with a great salad and fries.
Both appeared pretty quickly, cooked and seasoned beautifully, served by the friendly and efficient crew.
We followed the mains with a fresh pastry each, served with some very nice ice cream. Both excellent.
This does mean going back to order and pay again, but is way better than trying to catch someone’s eye.
Not sure of the tipping policy here, but we left one anyway, we had a really good evening. No fannying around waiting for busy waiting staff to notice you’re looking for the bill.
Great!
It gets better - they also do brunch - will try this another day.
