Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have been Driving the EYER H'way since 1968 [ It was still like a goat track ] ' When I first stopped at B P JOHN EYRE it was not much more than a tin shed where the busines was more of tyre repair...& replacement tryes . Fuel was a good business . I would rest here under the shade of trees . Up to 10 times a year . It was a super great to have a break , a feed & some fuel . Could not fault the family & the food . Back near the middle of last year [23] I was so surprised by the lack of service , very bad manners & service , actually there was no service to speak of . It looked like they were waiting for a chance to escape . I would normally get a few tokens from the counter for a shower . NOT anymore . I got the impression no one wanted to be there , no help any more . No smiles . I have been to grave yards with more smiles . After 55 years driving East the WEST I now changed my habbits , for the better . I now skip past B.P. John Eyre , fuel & motel . There are much better people out there , cheaper fuel as well . I can now smile again . I may now only enjoy the drive maybe 5 times a year [ each way .] I sleep much better as well ..More

Stayed at the Caiguna Roadhouse on a powered caravan site. The site was long enough for us to be able to stay hooked up. As with all sites we’ve stayed at across the Nullarbor there is no water to sites but this is perfectly understandable...as water is an issue for the region. Price for a powered site was $30 for the night. Amenities were spotless. This is our first time at this roadhouse and we will use it again. Previously we have overnighted at Balladonia caravan park where the price is $50 for a powered waterless site with quite grubby and ill maintained amenities. The staff at Caiguna were very pleasant and courteous and the dinner we enjoyed was delicious. Please remember to carry substantial emergency cash as sometimes in remote locations like this the internet can be unreliableMore

Ok for a brief overnight stop if you are driving along Eyre Highway. Facilities are old, a bit dated but bathroom looked fairly new and was very clean. It is set just off the highway so there is traffic noise. Bed was comfy and clean....Sadly of average standard for outback Australia. I appreciate these roadhouses are very remote but some could try to update a little. If you don't mind rough and ready stay at a road house.More

One thing we learnt whilst travelling a fair bit is that roadhouses are not generally for quality items especially coffee and healthy food at a reasonable price. Caiguna is no exception to this. On the way home via the Nullarbor and it was coffee time....Called in for a coffee only as we had food aboard. The service was slow and quite perfunctory. The coffee was very average but it was at least hot as the day was overcast and wet and the caffeine hit worked! The roadhouse had a number of souvenirs for the area available.More

Room was very basic, 3 fuzzy channels on the TV, came with its own can of bug spray to spray your own bugs, hot water didn’t work. I had dinner in their restaurant and as hungry as I was I could not eat it, it...was discusting, mashed potato with big black chunks through it, steamed carrots black at both ends and pork strips to tough to eat. When I spoke to staff about the meal she just scraped it in the bin and walked away.More

Stopped by here and grabbed a sausage roll. Great! Best sausage roll I’ve had in a long time! Will stop past for another on the way back. Loved the history also

I've camped here in a tent a few times. Not a great experience, but must needs. I've stayed in a room twice, when forced to by bad weather. The first time was good. I arrived in the rain and was given a room that hadn't...been made-up. They were apologetic and I was grateful. I booked this time against the probability of rain. My room hadn't been made up. The bed was stripped, there was rubbish in the bin from the previous occupant, and a used coffee cup on the bench. I'm pleased to see some work being done to upgrade the sad 1960's room, but the tiles on the floor are dangerously slippery. I hope that the rude person who served me my meal learns that while everything on the Nullarbor comes by truck, good service should live here.More

We camped overnight on a unpowered site. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Had a beer at the pub while we waited for our dinner. Awesome service, awesome feed, would definitely go back.

I’ve worked on the Nullarbor for years off and on and about 10 years ago this the Caiguna roadhouse was my local watering hole when I worked on a station close by. Doing a business trip from Adelaide to Kalgoorlie this week we decided to...aim to stop here for nostalgia sake. The rude counter staff were both unpleasant and unfriendly to not only myself but others walking in to spend money. Next trip I won’t bother and will give some of the other roadhouses a tryMore

After nearly a week bush camping called I to fuel up and pay for a shower , bought over $150 of diesel and was informed by sour face behind the counter there was no showers as no water ! ( how can you operate a...motel , camp area and roundhouse without water ? ) drove round to the parking area and observed motel units in use , caravans in the camping area and truckies heading off to the ablutions with towels and bags ! WTF ! By the way we are a middle aged couple driving a late model Landcruiser !More

My wife and I have stayed here twice now and stayed in rooms 9 and 2. The place is old, but it also has history on the Nullabor and a few old photos in the bar show that. Although old the rooms were very clean...and that did us. Hot water, TV, Kettle and makings, along with clean linen and a comfy bed was all we needed after a long day on the road. We found all the staff very friendly except for a grumpy young fella, who was at the end of his night shift, so that may explain him. Hey its not the Hilton, but if you need a clean room, a decent feed and a place to get your head down, then this is it.More

Amazed there aren’t more reviews about the HORRIBLE woman with the short hair who I think runs the place? Wow she is miserable. We were some of the first to arrive there when the road was closed due to the recent terrible bushfires, so it...was the last stop. Met with this sour faced woman who rolled her eyes when I asked if there was WiFi.. maybe a dumb question but no need to make me feel stupid! Then (despite it not being busy yet.. oh boy was that gonna change) took ages to come serve us at the bar, there was a good crowd of us all fed up at being stranded and the first conversation that bonded us all was agreeing how unnecessarily mean and sullen she was! Anyway with that out the way. Fine enough place to stop for a night, facilities clean and good power to the showers but no hand soap anywhere in any bathrooms. Food is fine, standard roadhouse fare, the boyfriend found the breakfast fry-up VERRYY good, the best he’s had out here. So a good pit stop, as long as you’re not stuck there for more than a night and can handle a surly reception!More

Unfortunately stayed here last night. Checked in to powered site at the campground about 2pm. Super-crowded by 7pm. Only 2 women’s toilets and 2 showers for the whole campground. You can imagine they became dirty quickly. We were more than ready to get out of...there next morning, when I received an urgent work request online. Husband went to ask politely if we could stay for extra hour so I could finish it. She refused and said she would charge us for an extra night if we stayed anything beyond the check-out time of 10. Her tone was forceful and rude. The campground was completely empty at that time. We packed up and left the campground before 10. I went to pay for fuel and asked her why she would not let us stay a bit longer. She said ‘we are not the Hilton. You wouldn’t ask the Hilton.’ Unlike the other staff who were pleasant and friendly, she was rude and arrogant. I’d rather free-camp!!! Give this campground a big MISS if you can.More
