This place should be avoided. The restaurant and cafe are run by the same people but they have so many rules and surcharges it was a totally unenjoyable experience. You couldn’t feel less welcomed if you tried. Coffee only served in takeaway cups even if...you want to sit right there, and even though there are ceramic cups sitting on the top of the coffee machine. Just a ridiculously bad experience. Don’t go.More

Had a poor experience with staff over a misunderstanding about ordering. Woman was very rude and this ruined the experience. Food was average.

Stopped here before going to this famous beach. Nice gift lines and lovely staff. Had a very nice hot choccie and home made slices , like ginger and caramel, looked great so we will be popping back to try more of the menu! Cheers!

What a fantastic spot, overlooking hot water beach, on the deck under an umbrella, eating breakfast. Great selection on the menu and cabinet items too. Fabulous, friendly staff and excellent service. Loved it.

When I got to Hotties, I saw the place had a very nice decoration, a beautiful view to Hot Water Beach, and was the only restaurant in the area. Therefore, I was expecting to be ripped off $35 for a burger. On the contrary, I...was pleasantly surprised with a menu with fair prices. $18 for a big tasty burger with fries and $19 for a decent portion of fresh fish and fries. You pay the same or more in central Auckland in some below average places. Food was really good and came quick. We left the place very happy with our lunch experience. And I really appreciate when a restaurant doesn't try to rip me off. We are coming back to Coromandel this summer and we certainly are coming back to Hotties.More

We had lunch here and it was high quality and quantity. Avocado & prawn meal and the fish tacos were nice and fresh and a good portion!

We enjoyed and impromptu lunch of falafels with kurmura fries although at 41 dollars without any drinks, thought these a bit on the expensive side. We had to ask for tap water. The two counter staff were charmless and rather brusque.

My husband and I ate here when staying at Hot Water Beach a few days ago. We wanted something quick and easy for dinner after having been down at the beach for low tide that evening, so decided to give Hotties a try. The selection...on the menu was good, so I ordered fish tacos and my husband ordered the prawn crostini. The tacos were very tasty (although pretty impossible to eat by hand so I had to resort to using cutlery) and my husband said the crostini was delicious. We sat in the seating area overlooking the beach whilst enjoying our food - what more could you want! I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.More

Stunning view right on the edge of Hot Water Beach. This little cafe has outstanding food - the prawn crostini and the mussels were top notch. Service was friendly. This place is a gem!!

This place charges life a cafe but is more like a dairy. You can hire spades for hot water beach a few 100 m away, get cold drinks including beer, ice creams, fish and chips and cabinet food. There is a very spartan sitting area,...no glasses or water on offer, salt and pepper in little sachets but prices don't reflect the lack of comfort. Having said that it is in a pretty remote place. Spade hire $5 plus $20 cash deposit. Free angle parking just across the road from the pay and display park/ toilets. Check tide times before planning your day as hot water area only accessible for approx 1-1.5 hrs either side of low tide.More
