This is the second time I have visited this pub and it’s absolutely amazing, both times I have ordered the crab salad and it’s the best I’ve ever had. The service is impeccable and the food is so fresh, I can’t believe how amazing it...is. I’ve worked in hedon for 3 years and feel like I’ve missed out on this place, it’s my new go-to place!More

Lovely outside seating area in a very popular pub. Good Sunday lunch and choices. Nice food and drinks menu. Always busy and advise booking in advance or rock up And snaffle a table.

Just had a beautiful crab salad. The salad was so plentiful I couldn't manage the side of chips. It was to die for. The dressing on the salad was amazing I'm not a dressing fan but that was fabulous. The lager was ice cold. All...in all a good eperience certainly will be repeating.More

What a shame. Visited today for lunch at 12 noon. Ordered at 12.10 and it arrived at 1.40pm. Food was lovely and the service was good. When we asked about our order numerous times they kept saying it would arrive soon.but wasn’t as if it...was busy either. Such a shame as they normally get good reviews. We weren’t even asked if anyone wanted another drink.More

Visiting the Shakespere on a sunny but cold May afternoon, managed to get a table straight away in the marquee, already a lot of people in there enjoying drinks and food, quickly ordered drinks, Doom bar for me and a Cider for partner, very quick...service from the young staff, and ordered our meals, I went for the Brunch Burger, partner ordered Pulled Pork Burger. Luckily the sun was shining as it took a long time for the food to arrive 45 mins+ but definitely worth the wait and the food was home produced and very good quality, my burger had sausage, burger, mushroom and tomato in a nice bun accompanied by sweet potato fries (and should have included egg but I asked for it to be removed) it was replaced by hash browns, my partner had an equally good pork burger with pulled pork and home made chips, I don't usually pick burgers by choice but these were excellent and will go back again to try some other items on the menu, all of the other meals on nearby tables also looked appetising so worth a visit to this popular local pubMore

Had the Sunday roast takeaway with my son last week. The portions were huge and loved the homemade yorkies. Such a wide variety of choice of veg and the gravy is to die for!! Would definitely recommend xx

We visited on the last evening before 2nd lockdown and we were lucky to get a table in the marquee It was a busy as a like ourselves people were taking advantage of the last night before they closed for a month The marquee was...decorated tastefully I believe it’s called the vineyard and it felt cosy with its fairy lights, wall art and wisteria It was a cold night we wrapped up in our winter coats and with the heaters we were snug I enjoyed the steak pie and lots of veg my hubby had a curry with rice chips & naan bread Absolutely delicious waited approx 30mins but it was home cooked and worth the wait...we enjoyed the atmosphere of the marquee Massive area so no problem social distancing felt very safe with the Covid measures in place Staff very busy but had time for a chat and they worked hard to keep everyone fed and watered We have booked a table again for a couple of dates in December I think it will be a lovely atmosphere when they decorate for Christmas If Halloween as anything to go byMore

I am a regular at this pub and must have visited at least once a week since reopening after the Covid 19 lockdown. This is a great local pub with good atmosphere but there are a lot of room for improvements. Always a long wait...on drinks and nine time out of ten find yourself having to get staff members attention to get a drink. Visited with my girlfriend tonight and waited an hour and a half for food, only to find that there was a mistake in the kitchen and they didn’t even put our order through. Ended up having to ask for our money back and get a takeaway on our walk home. Great summer here but seem they have got complacent. Very good potential but standards have definitely slipped over the last few months. Beer could do with improvements too. Hopefully be back to normal after lockdown.More
