We stayed at the hotel whilst doing the A2O cycle trail. Newly refurbished and very comfortable accommodation. Superb meals and really helpful staff. It was a great stopover on the trail.

The lady staff member made us very welcome, the premises were clean and smelled good. The hot chips were cooked to perfection and the aoili they were served with was the best I've had in years. I was told the aoili is made fresh onsite.
Called in on two occasions while visiting the area of my birth. The Hotel has been refurbished and is looking good. The food is excellent, and the staff very friendly. I'll be back!
Really nice food to choose from a wide range at surprisingly affordable prices. Nice feel to the place with a pool table and darts area to boot
Thank you for your lovely review. Hopefully we will see you again soon!
Have not been thru this region for some years and were delighted to come across the old Duntroon Hotel, undergoing renovation and reinvention as cycle tourist accommodation and a great cafe. Had lunch here, very tasty food, good range of options and place has a...real atmosphere. Very clean, plenty of seating and space. Owners have obviously put in much hard work and imagination into this project and deserve to prosper. Glad to see reasonable number of patrons. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would not hesitate to recommend Duntroon Hotel and hope one day to come again. Plenty of parking.More
Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback! We are really enjoying the positive responses, especially the ones from people who saw our place before the renovations! We look forward to seeing you again one day soon! Kind Regards, Duntroon Hotel.
Congratulations to the team who revitalised this tiny village with their hard work and super ideas! The restaurant is innovative and has the ambiance of a small pub but the service and smiles are just tops! The menu is creative and well cooked and bar...service is alongside as a happy and fulfilled experience The trip up the valley is enjoyable taking a short time to reach this hotel from Oamaru. We camped in the Duntroon domain which is wonderful in itself and walked up to the restaurant and back under the stars!More
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are newly opened and we are trying very hard to make Duntroon an enjoyable destination. In the winter it is proving to be a pretty special retreat.
Great mains which were very tasty and of a good size, just a pity that there isnt a dessert option other than a wide cheese board range available. Host was very polite and attentive. Just a thought, Lights are quite bright above the tables and...could be dulled a fraction.More
Hi, thanks for your feedback. The lights are all on dimmers, so we do have the ability to control them - we will have to be more attentive to it in future!
dropped in here on a whim...the food was brilliant and the owner made me a cracking good coffee. this place I part of my regular stops now . many thanks and keep up the good work.
