Although there was a thunder storm the day we visited and we could not eat on the terrace, the view we had from our window table was still stunning. We went for the Discovery menu and enjoyed all but one of the dishes, which can...always happen with a taster menu anywhere. The quality and presentation of food was as we had hoped for on this Mitchelin Star restaurant and the portion sizes were much more generous than other starred restaurants we have been to, so please make sure you are hungry before you visit! The service was very friendly and attentive and not at all stuffy. A really special evening. Thank you.More

We have lots of great restaurants around Bergerac but this has become my favourite (for now). The staff used to seem aloof but the last few times we have visited all has been fabulous. The food was always good but is now an extravaganza presented...in a rather understated way - I much prefer the atmosphere now and will come back as often as I can affordMore

That sounds so pompous doesn't it - "spoilt by poor wine service"... Let me explain. Location is fabulous, at a height overlooking the vineyards looking towards Bergerac. Food was amazing. We went for one of the tasting menus. And we thought it would be fun...to have a wine tasting menu as well, each course paired with a different wine. That doubled the cost of the meal but, we have done that before at other places, and it was our last night in the area. But, without exception, we had to chase for our glass of wine every time a new course arrived. Sometimes, even eating at a leisurely pace, we had finished the course before the wine arrived. Made a relaxing evening quite stressful, constantly trying to catch the eye of a passing waiter. So we would highly recommend eating here (a 5* experience definitely) but just order a bottle of wine rather than go for wine pairing.... don't make the same mistake as us!More

Great cuisine with attentive service in a lovely setting if you can eat on the balcony with the panoramic view over Montbazilac. We went there to celebrate our silver anniversary and we were not disappointed. The deserts were expertly executed as you can see in...the photos. Definitely recommendedMore

The view was absolutely stunning, meal was fairy priced for its starred status. Food was good and impressive with great ingredients. I had the meat dish (beef) which was a bit dry and I certainly had better somewhere else. We were celebrating a birthday and...we had lovely cremant given to us for free! The desserts are huge in size/categories, they are good but a bit big . Mine (passion fruit) was the smallest but the chocolate one and the soufflés are huge .. so be prepared. They are good thoughMore

One of the saddest things about not being able to go to France this summer (due to UK restrictions) was cancelling all our reservations at La Tour Des Vents. This restaurant deserves its Michelin rating and has consistently delivered a well-judged menu of dishes with...real skill and precision for a number of years now. The staff here are skilled professionals who also serve their guests with real warmth and care. If I tell you my favourite restaurant is the Waterside Inn, in the same breath I would encourage you to visit La Tour Des Vents, for food that pleases the eyes and tastes delightful, excellent hospitality and a glorious view over the vineyards towards the spires and rooftops of Bergerac in the distance.More

Know this restaurant well. Chef produces wonderful desserts but mix of ingredients in savoury dishes doesn't work well..... eg A foam of Ajo blanco with langoustines was overpowering and too heavy and a dish of St.Pierre was spoiled with sous vide fish that had not...been finished in a hot pan so was "gloopy" in texture and had a strange grey colour due to the caviar scattered on the top. Individually the elements are superb but together they do not always work. Lovely setting although ambiance could be better - it needs some money spent on it.More

La Tour des Vents was everything we'd heard from others -- wonderful hilltop location looking out over a wide valley and the medieval town of Bergerac in the setting sun, attentive service, and a dazzling array of tasty innovations that delighted us for two hours....The menu includes imaginative dishes using vegetables, so our vegetarian daughter-in-law was very pleased with the offerings, and everyone in our party of six left the table sated and impressed. A great experience in the Perigord!More
