We loved this place! Sophisticated menu, smart Laconia favoring wine list, bantering waiters…and their own private swim deck with full service. What more could you want on a summer Sunday outing?
There are four sections, outdoor with umbrella cover, indoor, a hopping bar and the small swim terrace just seaside off the bar. Every seat has a view of the bay.
We shared, which unlike, say, France, the Greeks totally get. So we went for shrimp ceviche, eggplant wrap, a grouper filet and a bottle of wine. What I know about Greek wines is that I haven’t yet found a red I like and a white I haven’t liked. But conferred with the waiter anyway, who turned out to be completely comfortable with the carte. “If you are going to share three glasses, might as well get a bottle,” he “helpfully” suggested. “Oh, boy,” I thought, “Here we go to the top of the list.” “With what you just ordered, I’d suggest this white from the Lacovino Winery.” I scanned down the list looking for the sting. He was pointing to the least expensive bottle on offer at €18, just two bucks above retail! And it was indeed a delicious and perfect match.
We had brought our swim bags, thinking to change in the rest room and go to the public deck nearby. But, what the heck. The chaises on the terrace looked incredibly inviting. Turns out they were full and were € 20 a pop. Explains all the beautiful people lounging away. Oh, well. Next time we’ll call ahead or reserve when we sit down. And there will be a next time!

We went out of season with out 3 children and had a great experience. The place is situated in the little village Limeni with only very few restaurant options. Beautiful location on the seaside and right by the water. We were at first the only guest, and the waiter was really nice and attentive. Very cosy and a little upscale decor from the other places in the village. We had fresh calamari which were really great, mille feuille that also was super delicious. Kids had some delicious pasta courses. The food was like Greek style with an Italian twist and very well made and very nicely served. I can really recommend this place if you’re visiting Limeni.

One of the best restaurants in the Limeni. We arrived late with no reservation (group of 4) there was a 45’ wait so we decided to have a drink next door.
The friendly lady running the place came across three times to update us and made sure we got a table on the first row!
Standout dishes : the tuna carpaccio, an octopus with fava and a carbonara with local ingredients. Average dishes: shrimp ceviche, local sausage and a prawn linguine; good wines. Price wise, about EUR50 per head with wine; but we felt ultimately it was worth it.
Beware that appetiser portions are huge (almost 75% of a main) so I felt that the waiter should have told us to drop one dish as there was too much food on the table. 4.5 stars and would go back to try more.

We chose the restaurant because of the good reviews here. Honestly I now don’t understand these at all.. The food was mediocre at best. Starters were ok-ish: flower tops ok taste, but super oily. Octopus a bit hard to chew. Main dishes a disaster. A fish filet completely bland. Beef tagliata super super salty, meat super hard. Has the cook even tasted what he serves? We ordered two glasses of rose wine, we were wondering if it is rose or red when it arrived. No taste. Service also bad. We were still eating starters, and the waiters came to pick the dishes as mains arrived... They give a gift of salt box at the end: thanks, I had enough in the tagliata. View and environment are nice, but I am sorry, you cannot charge 30 euros per dish (as we pay in Switzerland) in Mani with this quality.

We went to Telonio as we had already been to I Oka two days in a row and we were a bit embarrassed going there again (big mistake).
We ordered octopus carpaccio which was so salty, we could to eat it (priced at 20 euros which was a rip off considering all you could tase was salt). We had the carbonara which was ok (6/10, you needed a magnifying glass to see the suglino- smoked pork from the area) and the garden salad which was also ok (5/10). We also ordered boiled vegetables with siglino which was the worst dish (it needed some acidity) after the octopus .
A big downside was that staff could not really talk about how the dishes were linked to the local dishes of the area. When I asked if the main courses were local dishes, the answer was no and that these were the chef's inspiration. Yet, many of the ingredients were local or regularly found in local dishes such as suglino and talagani cheese. Staff should be more knowledgeable.
The only positive was that the staff had good knowledge about wines in the area. We fell in love with Kydonitsa (Theodorakos winery) and after our meal we went to Aeropolis to buy wine to bring back to London with us.
Overall, a negative experience and I would not recommend Telonio. It just feels pretentious with no real essence. Such a shame as I felt that the restaurant could have potential.

The place is unique. The food was so and so provided you are charged 20 or so Euros for a shrimp pasta. The young employees at the service were trying their best but obviously they weren't up for the job - at least for what this restaurant is trying to sell as an offer.

The location is really nice and the service is friendly but the rules of the owner are extremely inflexible and the quality of the dishes seems to be decreasing in quality from month to month while increasing in price. 8 small sushis of average quality for 22 Euro is not a place I will come back to next year. Also when we asked to get something from the bar menu for our son who would of liked a burger from the bar menu, we were asked to change the table even though the restaurant was totally empty.

The location is a real asset for this restaurant. I would have chosen it even just for that. Though the overall dinning experience was really very good. The food options interesting, varying from traditional dinning choices to more advanced choices.
We has the chance to taste different options from sushi to a gourmet risotto. Everything was well cooked and well served.
I don't give a 5* just because I think some more options in salads and finger food is needed during summer time. A second reason is that the dinner was served quite delayed for 2 out of 4 persons.

We had a delicious dinner at this fine restaurant. The place is amazing , you can almost touch the sea but the food and the service was far more better from what you expect from a tiny village like Limeni. Modern Greek cuisine and some sushi choices, very updated wine list, nice music and the best seat to the bay, what else can you expect ? (perhaps a bit overpriced)

This dining experience was so not what we expected in a tiny village on Mani. A small restaurant in a lovely romantic spot overlooking the sea with excellent, flattering lighting (unusual in Greece!) There were so many interesting dishes on the menu that we went back the following night. Tuna carpacchio was on a bed on melon and avocado was light and delicious, the aubergine salad came with lightly seared squid, the garden salad had carob croutons and the beetroot risotto was fantastic.
This food served here would absolutely hold its own in London or New York and I'm so pleased we were lucky enough to eat here on the last two nights before they closed for the winter.

Beautiful location in the picture-perfect village of Limeni, with a nice view of the sunset. Good quality / gastronomic menu. The medium-rare yellow fin tuna was juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The other dishes we tried (shrimp pasta and giouvetsi) were nicely presented but rather average in taste. A bit overpriced (just as most nearby restaurants) but at least you get a decent menu and ambiance. Would go there again, given the opportunity.

The view from the restaurant is amazing. Enjoying the sunset while one is dinning is a unique experience. We ordered risotto with beetroot and foie gras, spaghetti with shrimps and octopus with chickpea puree. Everything was delicious.

Very good suggestion from our tour operator. Obviously the location helps, but that's not enough. There is a cut above the local food, with prices certainly much higher (the menu is available outside and so you enter with full knowledge of the facts). The quantities are more usual for us who are French, and we left the table without feeling hungry.
Asian and South American notes enhance local products. The fish was excellent. The original dessert (millefeuille). And the suggested wine very suitable.
Impeccable service. In short, we have no regrets, and will certainly come back because we lack this originality for the moment in our restaurants in Greece.

Wonderful location and the tasty mix of Greek, Japanese and Peru ingredients and spices and presentation makes this place a “bucket list” item for Peloponnese. You can also spend the whole afternoon swimming from the little private beach with turtles and enjoy cocktails and sushi between snoozing off and going for another swim. Excellent wine selection as well and service 1st class! Highly recommended!

I'm gonna go!!! It is worth driving to Limeni to eat at Customs!! The service is the best in Laconia, Androniki and Yv are in the plus of the store, polite, smiling at a magical spot. Shrimp salad 9/10.California rolls 10/10,Laconic shrimp liguini 11/10!!the finest shrimp I've ever eaten, shrimp horror 9/10 (he wanted a little sauce more), milfs (doubles instead of leaf) 7/10 the cream was granular. Perfect cocktails.
Unbelievable location, perfect sunset, great location, amazing service. Expensive shop for Laconia but worth it!
