With a COViD reopening, this place has done well to socially distance its customers. There were only 10 tables, well spaced, inside, and an additional 10 tables available outside. Reservations are available up until 6 p.m., making it easy to pre-book your table. Wait staff were masked and very conscious of staying properly distanced from their customers. It was our anniversary, so we chose to eat in, and have NO QUALMS about recommending this experience to others.

Every January / February i am coming to MInden to be volunteer at the Ice Races and on Friday night I visit the Pepper Mill Restaurant. A nice rustic place with an awesome atmosphere. The service is excellent and the food is absolutely delicious, that is why I keep going back. It is a little bit out of the way but worth going.

There are always steak full dinner specials. Meals are served with potato/pasta/rice and a fresh prepared veggie. You also choose soup or salad with each special. The Caesar salad is garnished with fresh Parmesan cheese, lemon and ground black pepper. Really, fresh Parmesan cheese makes all the difference when enjoying a Caesar salad. They offer deserts but we are always too full to have it. Servers are long term at this restaurant which means they are friendly and efficient. It's hard to get in during the summer months as it's so popular..

I am coming to Minden to volunteer at the Ice Races in January and February and on Friday night I visit the Pepper Mill Restaurant. A awesome atmosphere. The service is excellent and the food is absolutely delicious, that is why I keep going back. It is a little bit out of the way but worth going.

My husband and I made reservations at The Pepper Mill based on the recommendation of our hostess at Stouffer Mill Bed & Breakfast this past Saturday. The restaurant followed all of the COVID protocols which was great.
My husband had the spicy tiger shrimp linguini, and I ordered the ribs with sweet potato fries. We split a glass of wine, and we shared the sticky toffee pudding for desert.
Everything was delicious! The portions were large, so we took some food home with us.
The service was great! The restaurant was busy with dine in and take out, but our server was very attentive.
Their menu is extensive, so I would love to go back and try something different.

I would heartily recommend this restaurant on Highway 35 for all of those who need a healthy, reasonably priced meal when travellling. It is busy during the week and very busy on the weekends as well as Thursday night which is the night they present YukYuk’s show. We found the service to be good and the quality of the food was excellent.

Recommended by a friend so I read all the reviews which were all good. Drove 1.5 hours to get there. We had high expectations and were good at first. Courteous staff had us at our reserved table immediately and large menu presented. I hit immediately on the tenderloin beef medallions as did my bride of many years. A salad came with our order but we found later we were charged 1.50 for each (no explanation was given). Both our tenderloin medallions meals had 50 % sinue which was uncuttable and unchewable while the mixed vegs were tough (obviously previously frozen and reheated). It's the end of summer, fresh vegetables are aplenty. We both love beef tenderloin and we were both so disappointed as we left. We don't want to deter other folks from trying this restaurant and I'm sure the wide range of menu items would easily satisfy all.

As a first visit to this restaurant we ordered one of their house specialties… the pepper steak. This was by far the worst steak I have ever been served. The 6 oz steak had at least 2 oz of fat and gristle covered in a gelatinous gravy. We had reserved a table at least 2 weeks ahead of time but were seated at the busiest table in the middle of the room next to the serving area and phone ringing constantly. The waitress forgot a salad order. The clam chowder looked good but was, again, gelatinous and bland. Spare yourself and skip this place.

We waited at the door 5 seconds and then the greeter was there. We ordered appetizers and they came in minutes, piping hot and delicious. The food and the sauces were really flavourful. The waitress was super nice. It was very inexpensive. This was the best restaurant experience I've had in years.

Thursday Oct 31 2021 was our first visit to Peppermill as we are coming out of COVID disciplines. The staff and owner have done a great job of following protocols and the whole restaurant was very clean and decor was fresh and inviting. Staff was excellent and service was very good as well. We were looking forward to the usual Sunday night roast beef special which typically was Prime Rib. The owner however had made a decision that customers simply would not pay the COVID inflated prices for Prime Rib so that cut was not available. We had the “roast beef” at, I believe, $19.95. It was a big disappointment as it was so gristly and sinuey that for the most part was not very edible. I left over half of it on the plate. I REALLY hope that the owner changes his approach and brings back his traditional Roast Beef Sunday nite special. Let the customer decide if he wants to pay the price and get the usual quality rather than delivering something that is definitely not the dining experience we have come to know and expect. This is a great restaurant but a poor decision was made in this instance and I sincerely hope they get back to what we’ve come to expect. The remainder of the meal was as expected from Peppermill.

Our family of five dined this past Friday evening and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We had a reservation and were taken to our table. The tables were well spaced and the staff were all wearing masks.
Filet Mignon was a special for the night and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The Seared Fresh scallop martini was a wonderful appetizer. Our server was Laura and she was very pleasant and accommodating. We will be back.

We were delighted to be treated to a gorgeous prime rib & Yorkshire pudding on Mothers' Day! I asked for the rarest possible piece chef Greg could find, and he did! Easy to phone in a day ahead and have the girls call you back and take the order for the day. Everything is neatly packaged in a very substantial paper bag. We ordered extra gravy on the side, something that is often missed by other restaurants, but not this one! And NO DISHES! Made my day! Thank yo so much, staff, for continuing not only offering the take out, but being prompt and genuinely HAPPY!!

We experienced an amazing dinner. The staff was super friendly and fulfilled our extra wishes. Furthermore the food was of very high quality. We had salads, the fresh fish catch of the day and chicken wings and it was so delicious and tasty. For us it’s the best restaurant in the area. Keep it up!

As good as the service, ambiance, cleanliness and menu selection is at The Peppermill this visit was unfortunately very disappointing. We ordered two full racks of ribs and one order was full of cartilage, there were no bones, just these whitish rubbery pieces of what we believe is cartilage. Certainly not the quality what we expect from The Peppermill. Not sure what kind of ribs they serve but they’re definitely not baby back so they should specify on their menu what the cut is. Don’t think we would order ribs again or recommend them. There are far too many nicer menu items that this.

What a great spot. Fairly priced. Great selection and ample portions. Event the wine list is better than decent. Try the pork chops or any of the pastas. The severs are well trained and know their menu inside out. If you are staying overnight I highly recommend the The Highlands motel right next door. Book a reservation early as summer line ups of thirty minutes or more are common.
