Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had a lovely time here today, it was my husbands birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special, thank you all so much, fantastic service, value and food, lovely gazebos and heaters outside, a wonderful business doing their very best in these trying Covid times, highly recommended

Wonderful Salmon, Scrambled eggs and grilled tomatoes... She thinks I don't know they are not grilled....Sarah sticks them in the microwave..

This Cafe is a must for all teens for after school snacks. They doo great specials and a mean Panini which I had today. My girls usually have the lunch with chicken chips , drink ,and Icecream for €5.95. Great value. Close to all everthing and great meeting place or if you are waiting for kids to finish a class. Service is great the staff are lovely. Place is clean. Good is great and good value.

Visited this cafe with a friend and kids. Food very disappointing, chips tasted like they'd been coffee the day before and reheated. Sat outside as we had a dog. Booster seats provided for kids to use, but they didn't fit on to chairs outside and were therefore dangerous to use.

Staff were friendly. There isn't really a single menu- take a look at all the boards on display. Lunch was average - the quiche was nice, but I wish the salad hadn't been smothered in dressing. The cafe seems well geared to families.

Sometimes when your rambling about on a day off going back to your home town, to visit family and friends some still with us and some gone to the great beyond via the Parish graveyard it is nice to take a break. It is often some time out in a local café that can make an ordinary day into a perfect day. Café Natural gets credit for that yesterday where I sampled a nice breakfast and a tasty bowl of soup with my Happy Face tucking into some preferences of her own. Donabate has seen a lot of changes since I grew up on the peninsula back in the formative years of the 60’s & 70’s with new faces and new places everywhere you turn. Unfortunately the names on the headstones are more familiar to me these days than the faces I meet on the street but that is one of the sad realities of time passing. One of the welcome sights driving down the Portrane Road is a fine Community Centre with all kinds of healthy activities available to keep the growing population fit and in fine shape. The Café Natural is part of Community Centre and well stocked for all appetites. Staff are friendly and the food is well prepared and well-presented and it warmed and refreshed our December sea breeze chilled bodies. There is nothing nicer than a comfortable café when you have been walking around in the salt air and where locals can drop in and socialise, read the paper or check-up how many likes you have accumulated on social media. Time spent in a local Café adds value to the day. Donabate is lucky nowadays to have facilities and amenities to complement the expanding population and the most important places are those that offer shelter from the storm.

Was here a couple of times and loved it. Service and portions were always excellent and couldnt fault anything and I was very sad to learn it has since closed. Another casualty of the recession but a big loss. Best wishes to the owner and staff for the future.

I was so impressed with the leaf and bean supper club that I had to write a review. Talk about a fantastic evening out. My husband and I attended the supper club in July for a FOUR course candlelit meal all for under €20. We brought our own wine with us so it's an inexpensive night out for the both of us. I had the duck spring rolls to start. All I can say is the Chinese could learn or two!! They were out of this world. My husband dived into the Cajun chicken, it's was creamy well spiced and left him wanting more. And as for the desserts. There was so much to choose from and they were all homemade. My mouth was watering. Finally settled on the Choc orange cake!! Yum yum yum. The chocolate was oozing on top of the cake. Heaven like a Terry's. chocolate only cake! Even better. Needless to say I'm booked in for the next supper club. Can't wait !!

We went here for an afternoon tea for two when visiting the area. What a superb selection of sandwiches and home made delicious cakes, all presented beautifully and with a smile. I don't know how the owner is making any profit such were the generous portions. We had our grandaughter with us when visiting and only for her we would have left some of the food behind. She had a glass of juice while were were having tea and the owner didn't want any payment for her juice. Recommended.

My first visit to this coffee shop was both one to be remembered and to evoke memories as my title suggests. Stepping over the threshold, leaving the colourful sets of outdoor tables and chairs behind, was akin to being transported via time machine, back to my dear Gran's parlour. The ambience was one of old world charm, depicted by daintily set tables, wearing delightful china of myriad shapes and colours, showcasing the style of another era, all of which was reflected beautifully in the opulent mirrors which adorned the walls. Just as the setting could only be described as charming, the fare could only be described as sumptuously delicious. Afternoon tea here is a veritable banquet. A selection of sandwiches, bursting with chicken, cheese, egg and salad vied for room on the ornate china plate before being followed by another, bearing every type of cake imaginable. Chocolate, Coffee, Almond and Fruit cake smiled up wickedly, daring me to throw any idea of calorie counting out of my head. I could now see the attraction and necessity of a door connecting to the adjoining gym Nonetheless, taste buds were totally teased and appeased by every morsel demolished. Slightly tucked away from Donabate town centre but still commanding a presence in its Community and Leisure centre, it is a coffee shop worth seeking out. The staff leave nothing to be desired either by way of service or friendliness, a fact evidenced by the return of repeat customers. It is a delightful eaterie, with extra to be appreciated by those who still have memories of china tea sets and the times they resurrect from the shadows of the mind. I shall certainly be paying another visit and would recommend others seeking a treat for the senses to visit also.
