Ticks all the boxes of a perfect old NZ pub. Steeped in history and offering a selection of meals and drinks. Lots of outside seating for the summer and a warm fire for those chilly visits. The village is worth a wander about.

Jude is a great host. The hotel is warm in atmosphere and temperature. You can eat bar food in the bar or have a meal in the dining room.

After cycling all day and a stroll around the lake at St. Bathans, I was able to do justice to the delicious meal we were served. Top marks to the chef.
