Our first visit to the Boatyard today for coffee. It had been highly recommended to us, but unfortunately after having a huge breakfast, we only had room for a traybake. Everything looks and smells delicious - and so hard to find coffee shops who bake on the premises instead of being bought in. This lovely couple who own the boatyard have a lovely place here offering breakfasts, lunches, scones, coffees.. we thoroughly enjoyed a fifteen and a Mars bar krispie washed down with very good coffee.

This Hidden Gem on the North Coast is well worth a visit.. David and Lorna are top of their game ìn terms of hospitality always making you feel most welcome. The menu has lots of delicious choices ,different to the Menus in many other establishments and the food is always of an exceptionally high standard. If visiting on a Friday or Saturday, the homemade Lemon Meringue Pie is a must to try. Overall, excellent value for money and booking is highly recommended.

Positives- food was pleasant to eat.
Negatives - had to wait a substantial amount of time for food. Food wasn’t good value for money served on a wooden chopping board.
£11.95 for one wrap, served with a small cup of soup, 4 tortilla chips, 3 leaves of salad and 1 slice of tomato.

First impressions were okay, We were greeted by the owner and welcomed in to our seats.
We both ordered the pancake heaven one without bacon. It was basic enough but tasted fine. The main issue here was the price I was charged £7.75 for 2 pancakes with maple syrup he discounted £1 because I didn't have bacon.
I won't be back because its definitely over priced.

You state in your review that the cost of the pancake heaven was £7.75. This is incorrect. Our pancake heaven is £6.75 . You were charged the discounted price of £5.75 and were also offered a vegetarian option which you declined. The person paying the bill was happy with the price. We have a copy of your receipt if you wish to call in.
You were welcomed into the coffee shop prior to our opening hours and offered the facility to eat off our menu.

A hidden gem just outside Coleraine, well worth a visit. Very different menu, we were a bit early for lunch unfortunately so shared a lemon and raspberry frangipan tart, it arrived with a little dish of custard and another of cream. Delicious coffee too. Sat outside in the sunshine and David looked after us very well, we will definitely be back to avail of the extensive lunch menu.

We decided to visit the restaurant as a result of reviews on trip advisor and we were not disappointed. It’s described as a coffee shop but has an extensive menu. Delicious homemade soup a choice of two, a varied menu with daily specials and desserts to die for all made by the ‘ lady of the house’ .
There is a small indoor seating area but large under cover outdoor area. In cooler weather rugs are provided.. If possible book in advance if you really want an indoor table. We have now made a few visits and will certainly be returning Friendly staff an excellent service .

While visiting from Canada we enjoyed breakfast at the Boatyard. An awesome spot for coffee, breakfast & lunch. While looking at both menus, I just wanted to try everything. We had the Ulster breakfast which was very tasty & a little lighter than other Ulster Fry’s we had a long the way. Scones with butter & jam were amazing, similar to my Granny Carson’s. Owners were very nice people, who took great care in their business and paid attention to the details. I highly recommend the Boatyard and will be making more than 1 visit next time I’m visiting Northern Ireland

We all ordered toasties and too be honest was lovely. The owner arrived and pushed a few sweets onto us, very odd character. At the end we asked for a bill, like other review he totted up in his head and said £33, we gave £40 and we waited 15 mins and he never came back, so took £7... Couldnt look us in the face when leaving..Odd to say the least, would say the old people getting stitched..My answer is have the right money..

Was really eager to try this establishment given the online reviews. Kept waiting outside quite a while but we're eventually approached & shown inside. Inside was colder and very draughty. We were all facing into the wall at a very pokey table. Overly complicated specials which boiled down to mainly toasties with a cup of soup. The mushroom soup was tasty but the toastie had hardly any filling, 3 morsels of chicken! It was dry. For £10 it was disappointing. Instead of a bill arriving the amount owed was totted up by pointing at each individual and recapping what we had... Very odd & uncomfortable. Needs less presentation on chopping boards & more substance on the plate. Very disappointing on the whole.

A little off the beaten track, hubby and I love this wee coffee shop. They can’t do enough to ensure customers feel welcome and have fresh food made to order. Laughed when I saw a review claiming they don’t cater for special diets - hubby is GF and I am vegetarian with a swallow disorder and can’t eat any breads. If you can work with us then you can work with anyone. 😀
We always come away having enjoyed a lovely lunch. 👍👍

En route to the North Coast we stopped here for lunch and we are so pleased that we did! The whole experience was delightful - the warm welcome, the cosy ambience, the meticulous hygiene measures and not least the superb food which was freshly cooked, beautifully presented and tasted sublime. Quirky dishes like the home made spicy pineapple chutney and the parsnip and peanut soup which accompanied the delicious croque monsieur raised the entire dish to another level. A melt in your mouth apple and blackberry sponge served with lightly whipped fresh cream and custard, followed by excellent coffee, completed one of the best lunches we have had anywhere. David and Lorna, keep up the good work! Your coffee shop is now a permanent fixture on our itinerary north.

Great place hidden away where you as a tourist would not necessarily go.
I have been to this quaint place several times. Service is great and the food put together in original way.
The food is good, though little options for vegan people, so if you are not too strict vegetarian cakes are fabulous.

We were on holiday in Antrim, my friend and our 2 sons and found this little gem recommended by restaurants on Google maps, so glad we did as it's such a great little spot. We all had a delicious lunch. a mix of baguettes with the soup and fried breakfast and we couldn't resist the lemon drizzle cake afterwards which was divine! Really lovely friendly cafe, it was a damp day and luckily there was a table inside, the outside area looks lovely and I'm sure great on a sunnier day. Staff were very attentive and the owner (David?!), was so chatty and friendly and amused us with some great stories. Really recommend this cafe, it was definitely one of our favourite eating spots over the week we were there.

I have been 3 times now and each time the food, service and staff have been excellent. It's fast becoming my new favourite place to meet for a friendly lunch, business meeting or family catchup.
The delicious menu is extensive and includes several daily specials 😋.
The outdoor area is sheltered and very comfortable and we were even offered single use blankets when it got a little cooler. There is also an outdoor heater.
Thanks to David and the crew for another lovely visit. My parents loved it too.
