About
Something is most definitely brewing in Portrush - beer is making a quiet and classy comeback! By forging strong links with domestic, individual, artisan brewers Kiwi's Brew Bar is able to source suds that you simply can't get elsewhere along with the best known beer brands. The vast bottled beer selection can be perused through the doors of several chillers situated on both sides of the bar, but a better bet is to ask the knowledgeable and friendly staff for suggestions. Every month we host a 'Meet the Brewer' night featuring an up-and-coming brewery. Pokertree Brewery came in June while 8 Degrees Brewery is coming at the end of July. While our IPA Fridays feature live music and guest beers from 5.00Pm. If beer is not your thing, Kiwi's Brew Bar also has local craft cider and gin on offer as well as quality wines and Prosecco for the ladies! 'Local' doesn't stop to the brews. Kiwi's Brew Bar collaborates with local music talent too. Live acoustic music is available several times per week and at the weekends with 'Brews and Blues' Sundays being particularly popular with the patrons. The pub is located in one of Portrush's oldest buildings reintroduced as a pub with a modern twist: its eclectic style is a mixture of New Zealand as well as Northern Ireland culture and influences! The site was originally constructed around the 1930s as a two-screen cinema, the Majestic Cinema, which opened on 7th April 1939 and had seating for 792. The building was later refurbished and its art deco style restored to its former glory. Today the cinema, which has a seating capacity of 250, is still a main feature of the building and is used to show independent movies, international rugby and football matches and boxing events. The impressive auditorium can be hired for conferences or exhibitions and there is also an outside balcony overlooking Main Street which is perfect for an alfresco drink. Kiwi's Brew Bar, the home of craft beer and live music, is family friendly, can host private parties and is open 7 nights a week. Plans are afoot for a small, honest, pub food menu based on locally sourced ingredients and it will soon be opening early for coffee and pastries.

My wife and I visited this lovely bar and we were surprised at how nice it was. Food was great and very reasonable and they had a really good selection of craft beers. The staff, especially Pinky, were very friendly and helpful. We will be back here next time we visit Portrush.

We called in for a spot of lunch while enjoying a few days break on the North Coast, the staff were friendly and helpful and managed to place the party all together in a section just off the main bar area.
The food was very nice and everyone enjoyed their lunch, there was no kids menu so we had to order adult meals for the wee ones, this would be something that could be added.
I ordered the cajun salad and it was very nice, the only issue was that it came with pot of chili mayo, given that i am not a fan of mayo i asked the server if i could have some sweet chili sauce, he said that was fine but proceeded to come back with another chili mayo, at the end of the meal i discovered that i had ben charged for the extra chili mayo which i didnt actually ask for.
overall the meal was very nice with just a few small issues, we would visit again if in the area.

Kris very kindly arranged for the team to have their end of Supercup NI 2022 presentation meal and evening to present awards and thank the parents for all their support. We booked for 45 and brought more. The staff kitchen etc took it in their stride. Facilities where excellent, staff friendly and attentive, ensuring we knew when the food would arrive for such a big group. The food was excellent and delicious. I think the staff couldn't believe how much 13 year footballers could eat. Players, staff and parents cannot speak highly enough of the service, quality of food and setting for our evening event. Kris and his staff's quality's service was 5 star. He even took time out of his busy night to have a photo taken with the boys. We had a lot of happy boys and parents who said they would return such was the quality of food and service.

Attended the Valentines Special, included in the deal for two were three courses with a personalised cocktail and two playhouse tickets. Amazing value for money and the food was phenomenal however, waiting an hour for the first course and two hours for the cocktail in the freezing cold restaurant and cinema was not worth it. Bring a blanket if you plan on going to the playhouse!

Have been looking forward to visiting this place but came away upset. Our food order was wrong and the waitress mumbled under her breath that it was what we ordered (rudely ) when we had not ordered it. My 18 year old daughter was then embarrassed when a bar man came over to our table and asked her for ID, then called her “man” and took her drink away (obviously thinking she should have stubble!) When I approached the bar man to let him know that my daughter was not a man and was 18 he was rude and turned his back. Toilets were filthy and stank of stale urine which was unpleasant. Food was OK but not worth going back for and unfortunately I will not be back due to the rudeness of staff. A real disappointment

Friendly and helpful staff. But ... pizza oven wasn't working, so only really could choose a burger. We opted for the Dirty Chicken Burger with fries ; the fries were tasty and it was a good portion, the burger looked good but, unfortunately, it was overly smothered in sauce which made eating it most difficult and in my opinion spoiled the overall taste. I left most of the roll and salad .. disappointed as our previous visit was a big success.

We go here and enjoy the famous Kiwis food and drink around once a month. Not once have we been disappointed with the food or service!!!
Theres a good selection of burgers, chicken wings and pizzas on offer at good value prices. The burgers in particular are superb!!! They do a nice selection of wine, spirits, cider and craft beers to cater to everyone's taste.
Kiwis is highly recommended and we will continue to support this local business during these very difficult times.

Bar service and having a drink was good.
Food was very disappointing, goujons were good but to be fair they’re not hard to get right. The dirty fries was fries with melted cheese doused in Tabasco sauce and jalapeños, I like Tabasco sauce but it was too much and poor seasoning. The wings were over cooked and dry left sitting in a pool of a sauce, perhaps salsa? Disappointing.

We had read the reviews here and were not sure how the food would be and were a little nervous going to a bar with kids. No need to worry, while there isn’t a kid menu the food is very family friendly!
The burgers are massive and great! The pizzas are large and delicious. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough - especially on price.
The beer was also great and the staff couldn’t do enough to talk you through the brews and make recommendations. I had a local ipa which was amazing!

Had read and heard good things about this place so thought we'd try it for dinner (kids and parents). Called to find they didn't take reservations but as we weren't coming on a Friday or Saturday, we would be ok and so it proved.
We all had pizzas and one portion of chicken goujons, which were really pretty good but the chips (whilst big portions) were of the frozen variety so one star off for that.
Took off another star for service, although willing and cheery (not always the case in NI) everything had to be asked for rather than just put on the table as a matter of course, this included cutlery , serviettes, water. No-one checked if everything was ok during the meal and after the food turned up we didnt see another staff member until we had to ask for the bill. Indeed if anyone had checked to see if we wanted more drinks we would have likely said yes, so they did themselves out of selling another round of drinks.
This is really a bar the beer was decent) that does food on the side and so could do better in that regard, but it wouldn't be hard to improve. Overall maybe 3 1/2 but cant do half stars here.

New to us as we used to come up yearly to PortRush before COVID but had not been here since 2018.
Great and friendly place, came in twice to watch World Cup, drank local brews and ate good food. HIGHLY recommend the pizzas as my husband makes his own and these were just as good. Burger was really good, although I like my burger medium rare and this was done medium well but the quality of the meat and condiments made it good. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Friendly, helpful staff, we are regulars and would recommend to any one wanting a decent beer - Lacada Beer is brewed in Portrush so as fresh as you can get. If you do not like beer they have a great selection of wine and spirits too. Menu basic but very tatsy and caters for Vegans and Vegetarians.

I went out with my friends to celebrate my 18th birthday, have some food and some drinks. After about 30 minutes, one drink in and eating our food, the bartender came up to our table and told us to get up and leave while still eating. He took our food from us and said that if we don’t leave he will throw us out himself. Poor customer service and very rude.

First thanks for leaving your review. I know it takes time and you are not happy. So after talking with the team member and reviewing the CCTV we can reply to you.
There are very different rule that apply to different places you go to eat and drink. Ours for example is a bar so you need to be with a guardian if you are under the age of 18, even if you are just eating. As members of your party did not have ID as required and asked for by the bar man they are not allowed on the premises. My barman however allowed them to stay as long as they did not drink. But what did you guys do??? you brought them drink. This is against the law, by doing this you put my bar mans job at risk and my license. So when they were asked to leave this is what must happen.
I'm sorry you Birthday was ruined but we must play by the rules and so must you.

Can’t believe what a wonderful job these guys have done here with combining casual dining with fantastic food and brilliant beer!! Absolutely amazing atmosphere and value for money is the best I have seen in a long time. Family of four with 2 drinks each for adults and 2 drinks each for kids plus meal all came in under £60 😎

We booked the cinema for our 9 year old daughters birthday, showing her favorite movie. It was a brilliant morning/lunch, all the staff were fantastic but especially Kris and Pinky. I couldn't recomend it highly enough for an alternative birthday party venue if you are tired of soft play!
