Sadly aligns with a lot of the reviews below. I’m disappointed to write this tbh.
The food was excellent. Really nice, well presented and tasty - their steaks are excellent. However the atmosphere and service was atrocious. There were two/three staff who seemed happy to be there but the others certainly didn’t.
When we walked in we were taken to our seats, not a single comment made and then pointed to a table, a bit strange but never mind, she then took our drinks. Following that we ordered food which was fine, then it all got weird - our plates and drinks were swiped away as soon as finished, as quickly as she had the plates away the bill arrived, when cleaning the tables they sprayed across the table on to our food, no questions around how the night was etc - and then asked if we would like to add a tip (there’s very little times I’ve ever said no but I wouldn’t have rewarded what became a thoroughly unenjoyable trip).
The restaurant was busy with a couple of big tables, so a level of stress would have been fine but the attitude of the staff was sad to see. With a few tweaks it could be a truly great place to eat, but need to have a look at their customer service asap unfortunately.

Didn’t hold out much hope when I was shown to an unclean table, my drink was wrong and I had to ask three times for tap water…then my food arrived (cod) and the first bite contained 3 bones…. BUT the rest of the dish was completely delicious (no more bones) and I felt great value for money. Service was very mixed - most of the staff seemed very young and not very attentive - but overall ok. The food would keep me going back if it was all like that though…

The food was superb. My wife had the prawn crackers and I had the ribs to start. They were fresh and very tasty. For mains we had the spicy noodles and Rump Streak, again, very nice, well cooked and all round delicious. However we wished the service had matched it.
We were seated by Brenda, who was lovely and super helpful. However once we were seated and had given our drinks order we were asked two further times if we needed drinks. There didn’t seem to be any system to how the waiting staff were working. We then ordered our mains and again we were asked three times during having the menus in front of us by three separate staff if we were ready to order.
Once we had our starters, I got up to go to the toilet and within 3 minutes of having been served the food a waitress came and asked if we were all done.
Again when we had our mains I was half way through my steak with plenty left on my plate and my wife with a full bowl of noodles when Kori came to our table and asked ‘are we all finished’? My wife replied ‘I’ll not likely eat all of this so if I could get a box that would be great’ she took this as the queue that we were both finished, lifted my napkin and threw it on top of my steak. For me then say that I was still eating and remove it.
Then when we’d finished our food Kori again came to our table and asked ‘are you paying with cash or card’. She didn’t enquire as to whether we were finished or if we had the bill. When she arrived she then had to apologise for not having the bill. Went and got the bill, typed the wrong amount into the card machine only to be corrected by my wife. We were given no time to check the bill, weren’t asked about how the food was or if we’d like to leave a tip. We then asked for a receipt for her to tell us that she’d forgot to print it and that she’d have to take the one we had for the business. It just felt like she wanted rid of us and we were an inconvenience.
Finally, the other thing that was off putting was the kitchen staff. During the second half of our meal they began cleaning the kitchen (fair enough) but stopping to munch on their dinner right in full view of the restaurant. I know they work hard but again just some professionalism and have your dinner in private.
This may sound like nit picking but the general chaos and disorganisation of the staff really affected our experience. Further, Kori was just unprofessional and rude.
A few amendments and this would be a great place.

I live locally and went out last night with some friends I haven’t seen for some time. Food was fine, though one person asked for a starter dish of scallops to be made into a main but that must have got lost in translation! The sour cream and chilli fries were in a ‘bowl’ of sweet chilli sauce, less sauce would have been better tbh. Haven’t been here in a while so was surprised at how much prices have risen and portions have definitely got a lot smaller. The mojito cocktails were disappointing and contained more crushed ice than cocktail if I’m being honest and at £8 I expected better. Guess that’s the “cost of living crisis”.
However, it was the service that left a lot to be desired and actually started to spoil our evening out. Coming from a hospitality background I would suggest that perhaps more training is needed with young staff employed on restaurant etiquette and customer service.
We had just got seated with the menu and had someone hot on our tail to take our order even though we had barely looked at the menu. This happened a few times in quick succession. Then we were finishing our meal when the waitress came over to lift plates (even though some where still eating) and ask did we want our bill. We joked with her was she trying to get rid of us….. we then replied actually we would like to see the dessert menu.
Went to order dessert but couldn’t catch anyone as they all seemed to have congregated out of sight. Finally found someone and ask for Bailey’s coffee also but the waiter seemed confused as to what that might be and said they probably didn’t do that. We requested that he ask someone and he came back and said actually we do this.
Started to eat dessert and again before we were even finished a waitress came up to ask us where we finished and did we want our bill. Clearly not as we had forks of food still in our hand. Again we joked if she was looking rid of us and asked what time they closed. She said 9.30 pm and as this was just past 9.30 then that explained her haste to get us out the door.
Most good restaurants allow at least 90 mins to eat a meal especially if you’re having more than one course. I would suggest that if the restaurant wants to close on time then they shouldn’t take bookings for an 830 pm table.

Booked for late lunch. Seated promptly, drinks order taken and food order taken when drinks brought to table. So far so good. Burgers and chicken goujons were tasty and side orders were good portion size too but they'd need to be considering that brought main course and sides close to £16. I ordered the prawn chilli noodles. Very disappointed. It arrived in a cereal bowl size dish, half full, including the height of 6 prawns sitting on top. Very few noodles in the bowl, a few token bits of onion? Cabbage? And then the whole thing was swimming in the watery chilli sauce which meant the prawns weren't crispy at all, they were really soggy and the coating just slid off into the bowl. Less sauce, made a bit thicker might make it stick to the noodles better and I'd expect a larger portion and more than 6 small prawns for my £16 price tag. I did point all this out to the very young waiter, he apologised but that was it. Also got charged 40p for ketchup!!! Seriously?!
Think we'll stick to Tides in future.

The decor and aesthetics of the place is stylish but a bit worn. And unfortunately this is the one of the few compliments I can give the visit.
Having been seated we ordered starters which soon arrived. My Peking ribs were fine but swimming in sauce that could have been reduced down, it had an out of the jar taste. My wife ordered the scallops at £10, cold pea pureé small portions and raw samphire (we think it was for decoration, in which case why? If not the chef needs a good hard look at themselves)
Then came the mains, the waitress approached our table and snapped "beef?" to which we directed her to my wife. She then slammed my dish on the table in front of me then left. I have not had such bad service in a long time, I was shocked at the level of disrespect and utter lack of enthusiasm shown.
The beef Ragu, it would have tasted nice but had been left to sweat on the pass and was slightly congealed. I ordered the honey chicken noodles, I've had better dishes from the local Chinese at 3am. Just rubbish.

We started our meal with prawns and poppadoms, but unfortunately, the poppadoms underneath the prawns were soft and soggy. I ordered mine with champ for the main course, but it came with mash instead. My mum's steak was overcooked and chewy. We informed the waiter about the issues, but he brushed them off. Later, while paying the bill, my mum mentioned the problem again. The restaurant staff then asked her if she wanted to take it any further, but it wasn't clear what that meant. We definitely won't be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Tony, Tony, Tony……the man who greeted us at the door probably shouldn’t be in the restaurant trade or service industry at all. He did his best to make us feel both stupid and unwelcome. We had booked a table for 5 adults and 1 child online. We had a 7th member of our family being a 12 week old baby in a pram. The baby isn’t a diner so we didn’t include him on the booking. When he saw the pram he head counted us individually and said there’s 7 of you…..shaking his head as we went to the till/floor plan. He then said he has a table for 6 but can’t fit the pram in and we should have told them there was a pram…..he made the mother of the child feel “great” so well done there Tony. He continued that he would find this difficult all the while shaking his head and being dismissive saying that there was no chance of us dining there. I was ready to walk but was told by my wife to stop. We persuaded him to allow us to try and fit the pram in and when we were seated at the table there was absolutely no issue with the pram at the window with all of us having ample space and not impinging on any other diners. That set the mood in what should have been a nice family dining experience. I might add that he seemed to be a manager or supervisor but looked the most unkempt of all the staff.
Although that part of the experience left a sour taste the food and service from the young staff saved it. We had nice food and decent service at a reasonable price. Good quality food with generous servings. So we were happy and I promised not to write a review….until we received an email confirmation of the booking modification that Tony had changed the table of 6 to 7. Tony, there’s a way to deal with customers and you my friend are lacking in the very basics. Tony is in his late fifties at a guess and is a long in the tooth to be behaving this way. This place is busy at the minute but there will come a time when the competition will strangle it unless this attitude is addressed. I would go back but I’ll pass by the window and see if Tony is there….then I’ll decide.
A special mention to the bartender who made the most incredible espresso martini and porn star martinis. Best we’ve had in a long time!

Tasty but a lot of problems.
We got 4 Sunday dinners.
It took 2 visits from the server to take this order. Servers are very young and inexperienced so that’s to be expected, they were friendly enough.
We had asked that one had no sauce or parsnip purée. The wrong dinner came without the sauce and parsnip purée. No problem we just scraped it onto my plate.
The food had the potential to be superb but it was cold - hardly even a bit warm. Even the veg that came out second was cold. Even the roasties were cold. We still at it but maybe it’s something management should look at. Because the taste was good we would probably still go back but if it was no better then we would stop

Visited on a weds place was very quite. Lovely bar and open plan kitchen but that’s about it. Had the Italian Parma pasta I think they called it. Was swimming in grease very sickening awful dish couldn’t finish more than a few bites. My wife had the peking duck again very greasy fatty duck and greasy noodles. We couldn’t understand either how it came out so quick we ordered and it came out within minutes almost like it was microwaved. No one came near to see if we were ok think we ate a bowl of chips bill was £46 really expensive would not recommend at all. For someone who is in the business this place was one of the worst I’ve tried in a long time. Although the plates and quirky extras look great do not be fooled by it the food was a disgrace.

This was the worst restaurant during our vacation. At the telephone reservation the lady already sounded a bit distant, but when we arrived we were looked at on entry, but no one felt called to welcome us. Eventually someone came and we got a nice round table. Nice we thought, until we ordered. The salmon was really mini and the burger lacked the cheese, bacon and onions. The fries were crumbly and everything didn't seem fresh. When we complained about the small salmon, they first went to get another servant, who went back to the kitchen. They were normal portions according to the cook, but okay, we got an extra piece of fish. Unfortunately it was undercooked... the substance of mash with sauce was indefinable and remained untouched.
Only positive was the pineapple cocktail! And one nice waiter among the rest of the chagerines.
Never back here.

The is our first visit and it was a good one. Menu similar to Tides but didn’t have the Starter/Main offer for £16. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and efficient. The food was really good too.
My wife and I shared the melted cheese fondue with sour dough bread to dip as a starter and my son got the chicken wings. For main I had the Angus burger with chips. It was a great burger with bacon cheese and lettuce (I requested the onion ring and relish not to be added). My wife got the pan fried chicken with tobacco onions and mash. My son got chicken goujons with skinny fries. We were all really happy with the food and the service.
Bill came to £65 and we got 10% with membership plus discount card. A great evening and great food.
My only negative was the first few tables along the window are very close to where people enter and wait for seating. It felt like there was too many people around us at times while we ate.

I was a bit apprehensive after seeing all the bad reviews but I liked the look of the menu and it seemed really good value compared to a lot of places nearby so figured it was worth the gamble. Well I'm glad I did as it was so good I went back again the next day! I'm not sure if I just got lucky with what I ordered or the time I went (both times around 3.30) but my food was excellent both times and I thought the lunch menu was a bargain compared to the prices at some nearby restaurants.
The first day I had the garlic chicken with a side of champ mash, the portions were HUGE and that's impressive coming from me as I'm a big eater haha with 2 large glasses of wine it was about £27 which I thought was amazing and the food was incredibly tasty, served hot etc
The second day I had the chicken & bacon ceaser salad with some chilli fries again with 2 large glasses of wine and again the food was excellent.
I like that it is an open kitchen so you can be reasonable sure of the cleanliness etc.
Both times I was kept waiting with an empty wine glass and having to flag someone down for a refill but aside from that the service was excellent and I wasn't kept waiting for food ordering or the food or anything else. Special mention to Tony who was particularly welcoming and friendly and seated me both days.
From my experience I would definitely recommend!

Went with my friend Tues night before 6pm, so disappointed, ordered gammon steak and got 2 pork chops, when I complained I was told it was all pork. Waiter turned and walked away, never came near us again. My pavlova was a meringue nest with cream on top, that's not a pavlova. We'll never be back.

Very disappointed with our first visit to Urban.
Staff are very unfriendly and definitely in the wrong career of customer service.
Waiter came to ask had we not had our starters as our main meal was now in fact ready. The starter then arrived - deep fried Brie was still cold inside and a very small starter of chicken wings. Meanwhile we could see our main meal sitting under the heat lamps!! We did mention this to the waiter who just agreed that yes that was our food getting cold while we ate starters.
Main meal was definitely not fresh or hot after sitting on the counter. Fish was dry and cold. Noodles cold.
Waitress started to clean plates even before we had all finished eating.
Would not recommend or return due to staff and chefs who obviously don’t communicate to ensure starters are finished and cleared before a main meal is cooked.
