First class from start to finish! We visited twice whilst staying in cushendall with friends. The staff were first class and attentive, the food great value and beautifully cooked, could not fault any of it. We’ll be back!

My son and I popped in for lunch on bank holiday Monday it was packed with people
There was a nice feeling of everyone enjoying the atmosphere and the food. We waited to be seated and were soon directed to a table and given menus.
Great choice of food, we opted for scampi and cod both dishes were delicious
The service was fantastic we thought there would be a long wait but we were wrong the food was piping hot ,the bar service was equally good and the cost reasonable
The only complaint was we had to embark on a long walk after the meal the scenery was lovely
We will certainly go back well done all đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

We want to come and eat around 5:30 p.m., the lady who received us asked us to come back at 6:30 p.m. to have a place for 6 people. At 6:30 p.m., we came back, and there with amazement, the lady told us that it was full, and literally threw us out with no delicacy. So avoid strongly, this restaurant does not like tourists. The area is poor in restaurants, so difficult to eat in this city.

A Saturday night in the height of the Summer season in Cushendall took us to Harry’s for dinner. Have you ever had a really bad feeling when you go into a restaurant that it is not going to be a good experience but you ignore your gut instinct and crack on? Well I should have trusted my gut. The main problem was our waiter. He had clearly had a run in with his supervisor and was not a happy camper. He stomped us up the stairs to our table, then he huffed, puffed and did his level best to make our dining experience miserable. We had our order taken without any interaction and notably no information given on the chef’s specials which are a usual hallmark of Harry’s. From my unfortunate vantage point his supervisor had cause to speak to him again- more huffing and puffing and muttering behind her back accompanied by endless running of his hands through his hair. I counted this happening at least 12 times and at no stage did he feel the need to wash his hands. Our food was just about ok. Admittedly it was difficult to appreciate it because of the uncomfortable atmosphere created by the waiter. The starters of deep fried Brie were both cold in the middle. The chicken goujons arrived without the accompanying dip but then our waiter hadn t bothered to offer one when taking the order. My husband’s chicken tagliatelle arrived minus the chicken. We asked for a pitcher of water and glasses. Our friendly waiter banged a stack of four glasses down at one end of the table and didn’t think to set a glass down at each diner’s place setting. The other staff member on the floor (thanks for your hard work PJ) did his best to try to counter the negativity of our waiter; alas the damage was already done.
Visitors to Cushendall - a stunningly beautiful village in the heart of the Glens of Antrim, attracting visitors from all over the world, surely deserves better.

The reputation Harry’s has is well founded. On our first night there the chef made us excellent vegetarian pasta even though it wasn’t on the menu, and the raspberry cheesecake was outstanding. We were very impressed by the helpful and friendly staff. We ate there a second evening and had a lighter meal, which was just as good.
Cushendall and its visitors are very fortunate to have such a gem.

We stopped here on our way up the coast and, although there were other choices for lunch, we decided to try Harry’s because that was my dad’s name. What a great decision! I had the battered scampi and my friend had the cod fillet. Both were absolutely delicious, quite possibly the best meal we had on our whole trip through NI. As we were coming in, a woman on her way out told us we absolutely had to try the seafood chowder. Later, I was wishing that I had ordered it because the man at the next table was having a “When Harry Met Sally” reaction to his! I might have to make a return trip JUST to eat here again.

Hi Diane,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing **Harry’s Restaurant** during your coastal trip! We're thrilled to hear that your decision to dine with us, inspired by your dad’s name, turned out to be such a memorable experience. It’s fantastic to know that you enjoyed both the **battered scampi** and the **cod fillet**—we’re so glad they stood out as the best meal of your trip through Northern Ireland!
We also loved hearing about your encounter with the other guest who recommended the **seafood chowder**—it’s definitely a favorite here! It sounds like the diner next to you really enjoyed it, and we’d love to have you back to try it for yourself.
We look forward to welcoming you again whenever you're ready for another taste of Harry’s!
Warm regards,
**Harry’s Restaurant, Cushendall**

I visited Harry’s and the food and service was excellent so we booked for next Weekend. The menu is very much a Bistro with good choices meat, fish, chicken and vegetarian options ranging in price for main courses £12.50-22 so good value. The food and presentation was superb coupled with great staff. Dara took our order chatted at the table and served us most courses. Christine, Kathrine and PJ were equally attentive and we got to meet Liam the chef before we left. So when visiting the Antrim Coast make sure to visit Cushendall and definitely book Harry’s for lunch or Dinner.

I booked a dinner reservation online and received an email confirmation (attached). Dinner was a supposed to be a 60th birthday celebration for my traveling companion. We arrived and were told they were closed for a private function so no dinner, and “Oh, Our online reservation system never works”
We instead ate Chinese take out at a local pub (McMullan’s Central Bar-great place great staff)). Other places in town were not open.
Obviously, this review is about service/their online reservation system and not food. No idea what their food is like. We were very disappointed. Would’ve been nice to have gotten notification from the restaurant.

This is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have, especially on such an important occasion as a 60th birthday celebration.
We sincerely apologise for the lack of communication and the trouble it caused during your visit. Your feedback is crucial, and we will be addressing this issue with our team to ensure that our reservation system is reliable and that guests are promptly informed of any changes.
While we regret that you didn’t have the opportunity to dine with us, we hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we apologize again for the inconvenience caused.

Had a meal on Tuesday evening. 2 children's meal were chicken nuggets/coujons and they were really bad. Chicken was not eaten, due to too much Rosemary/herb on the chicken. One actually was blackened in colour with the herb. I did report it to young lad who served us who apologised but did not offer a replacement, even a few sausages and no chips would have done. We were still charged full price. Really disappointed as the children aged 10 and 8 were so looking forward to their meal in a restaurant but sadly they left still hungry. We do eat here often but really really disappointed in these poor meals. So much so I am writing this review

We visited Harrys based on the reviews and I’ve come to the conclusion that as a nation we appear to love the mediocre.
The staff were friendly enough and we were greeted almost immediately.
First impressions of the restaurant were good there was a nice atmosphere but it all changed when we were taken to the upstairs area which was cold and lacked any sort vibe.
The menu choice was adequate but the food was only ok. I suspect the potatoes had been heated in the microwave as they were piping hot in the middle and not so on the outside. We had various mains the chicken was tasty and the onion tobacco was delicious, the seabass came without any kind of sauce and the “wilted vegetables “ was under done broccoli, the fish and chips were ok and my husband had a fillet steak which was cooked well and was tasty but didn’t warrant the £10 surcharge.
We all had sweets - the ice cream was very bland and watery and my husbands banoffee pie was synthetic.
We expected more and it was ÂŁ120.

Went with friends for dinner, nice decor, loved the booths. I tried the Spanish white wine, completely tasteless, so I ordered the Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, ÂŁ17.95, no. 4 on the wine list. The waitress came back with another Spanish white, also no. 4 on a different wine list. The Chilean was sold out, so I ended up with a Marlborough at ÂŁ21.95. Hubby had 2 goes at the red wine, Tempranillo and Malbec, both sold out. He had a Rioja, in the end. What wine bar has almost no wine?
The evening was saved by the food. Scallops and black pudding starter, Medley of fish Thermidor, Boeuf en Daube, and a simple sirloin steak, cooked to absolute perfection, with proper garlic butter, not a jug of grease which a lot of places serve nowadays, all absolutely delicious! The chaps wanted a coffee to finish. Another disappointment! The machine was broken, tea was available, but not even instant coffee, never mind filter!
The waitress was extremely pleasant, whoever was in the kitchen was at the top of their game, but the management and forward planning were non-existent, letting their whole staff down. A poor experience.

Made reservation online for Tuesday 18th June and got confirmation email welcoming us on the morning. Tried to ring as we felt earlier time might suit better. No reply! Went there. Transpired place was CLOSED. A local recommended Laragh Lodge which is open daily and although we had to drive there we had a lovely meal and the evening was saved! No thanks to Harry's Bar & Bistro.

The best meal we have had in a very long time! Service was quick and friendly, and they checked all was okay twice during our meal. Portions were extremely generous. I had the chicken stack - cooked to perfection, chicken was piping hot but not at all dry, onions were incredible and the pepper sauce was delicious. My husband had the battered cod which was super fresh. So pleased we stopped her and would highly recommend!

Busy place with good food and service. 2 people had the chicken stack which was a good sized portion. One of the chickens was a bit tough but it seems to me chicken can be like that when you buy it from the supermarket these days. The salmon was lovely and is a good size piece. For my personal taste I would have preferred it if the salmon skin was crispy and would have liked a bit more of the sauce with it, not to say they didn’t put much on though. Not sure what was going on with the cheesecake though as this was more like a mousse cake. It was warm too which was unexpected. All in all would eat there again. Prices were in the region of £14 - £18 for mains.
