My wife and I went to Twisted Tree on the advice of an old friend. We are so glad we went. We started with an order of the Fried Ravioli for our appetizer and ordered a bottle of Duckhorn Merlot. The Ravioli is delish, being made with beef brisket. For our meal my wife and I both ordered the fillets, which includes a salad and one side, her the 6 oz and me the 8 oz. The steaks were perfectly cooked and presented. The salads presented before the entree are enormous. The sides we ordered were the roasted corn and steamed brocolli, both are very tasty and large enough to share. The corn was our favorite side. One bit of advice if you like steak for the taste of steak, during the entee's presentation your plate has an au jus ladled onto the plate. My feeling is the filet mignon did not need the au jus. The filet was aged 52 days and is tender enough you could cut it with your fork. The service was impeccible, Allison was very attentive, polite and seemed to time her visits to our table perfectly. Also, if you buy a good bottle of wine you have to request for it to be decanted as it is not automatically done. Also, needless to say, lol, we did not have any room left for dessert.

This is a nice steakhouse with a balance of informal rustic decor but nice enough for business casual dress. We had an assortment of steaks and prime rib, and they were all excellent. The veggie sides that we also had were also very well done - tendercrisp. Wine selection was good. The only issues that prevented an excellent rating was some of our appetizers lacked flavor (hummus and tuna tartare). At times the service was slow, we were waiting for the next stage of our meal for some time and the sommelier was also slow. So, a very good experience but not great. If someone wanted to go to that restaurant, I certainly would do so. However, I don’t know if I would choose it over some of the other competing restaurants in the general area.

My husband and I went for dinner the night before Valentine's Day. The first thing we ordered was the the lobster bites. They were served on shoestring fries and it was all delicious. Next was their green salad. The waitress said she likes to mix the two dressings that came with the salad. She was right that dressing was great. The bread brought with the salad was a bit tough but edible. My husband had a steak which was rolled out on a cart, put on a plate at the table side, and then covered with au jus like steak sauce. The steak was cooked to perfection for him. He also liked the white cheddar au gratin potatoes he ordered. I had salmon marinated in a bourbon apricot glaze which was so good. I also had asparagus covered with almond bearnaise sauce which paired well with the salmon. The meal was a bit pricey but so worth it and we will be back again. Great selection of adult drinks from the bar available.

I wish I could give Twisted Tree 5 stars. We wanted to love it and find a new favorite steakhouse in the process. However, we’ve had much better and will be returning to our favorite, J Gilberts. At Twisted Tree, the 20 oz Ribeye was deliciously prepared and very tasty, however I had to remove gristle after chewing every bite. The baked potato was huge and delicious, but I agree with another reviewer, it was too huge. We paid extra for the mushrooms, they were okay... just mushrooms. The Caesar salad was good, but not spectacular. Service was good. Everything was good, just not 5-star as we had hoped. It might be your cup of tea so you should give it a try.

My wife and I went to Twisted Tree for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant was reopened for a few weeks after quarantine. We enjoyed a quality dinner without a stuffy atmosphere. The food was excellent from appetizer (fried lobster), salad, mains (ribeye and pasta), sides (risotto), and dessert (wedding cake). The service was outstanding. Just a great experience! It appears there is a good wine selection too, but I'm not a wine fan.

Kind of a unique place with a unique menu. Much better then most hotel restaurants. Let’s start with the lobster bisque, it’s unbelievable. The right amount of sweetness with savory lobster chunks. The salad is cold and fresh and the steaks well cooked. A great bourbon selection finishes a good meal. If you have a chance to go it’s well worth the price.

We have been here four or five times. This last time was a complete miss. We ordered the pork chops. My husband said his was fine. Mine was so over cooked it was hard to cut. I called it to the waiter's attention and he took it back to the kitchen. He said the chef agreed it was extremely over done, and they would replace it. It took them about 10 minutes to return with the new chop. By that time my husband's was ice cold. We resumed our meal, and the pork chop was cooked okay, but it was flavorless. Very disappointing. We ordered two pieces of cheesecake to go, and when we got home they gave us the wrong cheesecake. Wa Wa Wa.

I recently moved from Clayton to Kirkwood and have been to Twisted Tree twice , living in Clayton one should never have known such a great place was soo close. On my most recent visit I ordered the burger with Chrispy shallots and horseradish cream sauce . The reviews are all great on their burgers however i don't like diner burgers and this is what it is , very good quality though but i like medium rare with lots of juicy red so I ate one bite of it. The waitress did tell me that it wasn’t cooked to order but my mistake for not listening. The onion rings were good but were cold and not crispy but good taste. The pear salad is absolutely excellent as well as the added steak and chicken both cooked to perfection . They have an excellent menu so i look forward to going back.

There is a first and last time for all things. This trip was both for us. While the meal wasn’t bad, it wasn’t remarkable. I had heard about the hype behind this place it unfortunately it did live up to our expectations. The steak was average, the scalloped potatoes we took home to “fix” with seasoning, the risotto was good and that was the shinning star of our meal. If you are on the fence about the fried lobster...stay there it’s about the same as calamari. We were seated an HOUR before we received our entrees. We didn’t even get the chance to say it was my birthday dinner and it didn’t matter. $200 well spent elsewhere

Do this is admittedly our favorite place to get a Caesar Salad with grilled salmon. Have been going here since it opened years ago and food has been amazing as has been the service. This trip we found just the opposite. Had to wait 1:15 for our salads - the bartender said she went back to check on them three times. She was very apologetic. Then my husband’s salmon was completely raw and after having been there for 1:45 by that time we were ready to go. They removed his entree from our bill but he left hungry and somewhat concerned that he was eating pretty raw salmon before he figured it out. I got grilled shrimp on mine and I got three dried out rubbery almost inedible shrimp on my salad. And prices are up - $22 for a side Caesar with three rubber shrimp. And on another note my brother in law and sister in law went there a couple months ago due to our raving reviews over the years. They said the service was horrible as was the food and they won’t return. Not sure what’s going on.

I did carryout because we had a gift card to use. It was very expensive...least expensive entree on dinner menus was $30. Found this odd as it is attached to Holiday Inn , a family hotel, so was surprised how expensive everything was. It was very crowded. The 64.00 ribeye was ok but honestly the one I had from Ruby Tuesdays for 22 was probably better. This one was very grizzly on edges. Couldn't chew it. And I'm a person who enjoys a marbled ribeye. My husband and I split the steak and still had some left over. The baked potato was very large but pretty ordinary. Enjoyed the lobster tail and prawns add ons. It was very crowded and noisy so I was glad we carried out rather than ate in . They did put plenty of dressing, croutons, cheese , butter into the carry out bag which was nice. The house dressing was very good. The patio looked nice but it's right outside of Watson and Lindbergh so those are both busy streets...noisy and not very scenic. All in all it was ok but expected more for the $$$$. The meal was 112 and that was with us sharing one main entree. Not a family type restaurant at those prices, if you're staying at the hotel. I wonder if people know before going in?? It would be quite a shock if you were there with a couple teenagers! The ambiance and dress was casual. Varied from people in shorts to guys in suits.

Highly recommend this steak house as one of the finest in the St. Louis area. Steaks are either wet or dry rubbed and are of the finest quality. Cooked to perfection and extremely full of flavor. Salad presentation is unique in that your salad bowl is served along with a caddy of house-made croutons, selection of dressings, and additional toppings served family style. Mushroom risotto is a great alternative to the huge loaded baked potato. Chef’s vegetable will always compliment the selected entree. Don’t stop before getting dessert. That are all made in-house and one is better than the next; however, their wedding cake selection is unbelievable. You will not get in without a reservation, and if dining on a weekend, you had better plan a month out. Bar gets so packed, that they will limit capacity so get there early. Cannot say enough to recommend this as one of our favorites.

I was really excited to try after reading so many raving reviews. We made a reservation and upon entering everything was nice. We were seated and felt like there were long spurts in between our waiter coming back to check on us. He was very nice, but we felt he provided minimal service. The food was just ok. I ordered the prime rib and crispy Brussels. The steak was mediocre at best but the Brussels were AMAZING! My husband ordered the steak frites and didn’t love his meal either. I liked how they presented their salad, but didn’t enjoy the taste very much. It also felt like they were trying to rush us to finish the salads so they could clean up to bring our main course. We were celebrating our anniversary, and they did provide us with a complimentary slice of cake and a candle, which was VERY thoughtful. My husband doesn’t enjoy sweets but he loved the cake. Within an hour or so of eating our meal, both of us were having stomach issues that persisted for hours. I likely won’t be back. For the amount we paid, it was not worth the money.

One of our group chose this restaurant. It’s a good drive for us, and will probably not return- just so-so After moderate wait despite reservation, we were seated at very nice table and had nice waiter ( a bit talkative). Ordered drinks - Old Fashion (house specifically) and martinis. Pours were small, especially the Kettle One on the rocks (about half of small orange juice size). Twisted shrimp appetizer was a but dry. The steaks were rare as ordered and the sea bass was good, however, only two out of three served initially. I waited a good 5 minutes for mine. Nice place, but will look elsewhere next time.

Traveling through St. Louis on our honeymoon and we selected this restaurant based on the reviews. We were not disappointed! Quality food! Quality service! Debbie was our server and she gave us recommendations, and explained how certain things were cooked! We had Shrimp wrapped in bacon for appetizer, prime rib sandwiches, and complimentary wedding cake! Some of the best food we have ever had! HIGHLY recommend this place!
