Great, authentic food with superb service. We dined here on four separate occasions during our time in Caltignaga, and enjoyed it every time.

I have eaten a few times at this restaurant in the last 6 months whilst visiting friends locally. The food has always been very very good and the service great. The seafood pasta is really tasty and the pizza's are great. Family friendly as well.
Great place to eat. The two sister are always nice and kind! Food is wonderful and price/quality ratio stunning. We always have a meal here when visiting Novara. One of our preferred places!
This trattoria never disappoints.the sisters are so nice and cook up some great food.all high quality ingredients.great appetizers.first dishes are also very good.what a variety.excellent meat and fish.also good pizza with rustic or whole wheat crust.a tradition.
Had the best Calamari dish I've ever tasted. Just wished I'd left room for dessert. The mixed salad was interesting, it had thin slices of fennel root which gave it a slight licorice taste. Will go back often!
My husband had pizza and i had pasta with salmon. Both were very very good. Service was quick and the prices relatively cheap.
The place was packed to the brim and we arrived just in time to snatch a table without a reservation. With hindsight, getting turned away would have given a better outcome to our evening. We were faced with a pretty standard Italian menu garnished with...a few pretentious additions, our server however surpassed the menu as far as pretentiousness goes. She started by taking orders from people who set down after we did (the first on a series of inconsiderate things she did). Once she decided it was our turn, she was rushed and a bit unfriendly. The first course took its time but finally arrived. The pizza was mediocre and the octopus with potatoes was rubbery. Another bright staff member tried to drop off some drinks we didn't order on our table and when we told him they weren't meant for us he had a hard time believing it. After speaking with Miss Personality it turned out she made a mistake and they were destined for another table. After a long long time, the second course arrived. The salad looked sad and tasted sadder, the fish was forgettable and the mussels (albeit a generous portion) tasted like cardboard. My tummy begged me to leave and so we did but not before being overcharged for the drinks we never ordered. Trattoria Risorgimento may have taken my money but they'll never get my business again.More
The building is a big house with ledges which seems not to be as by law enacted. The outer part like the inner one, however, are a bit anonymous, a part the staircase that I do not see suited for a restaurant at all. At...the entrance you find the bar counter and the first tables, while the other ones are in the other part of the restaurant. The colors are light but the ambience is however too impersonal and banal. The owners have chosen to call this a "trattoria", and for the ambient is a proper definition, but it's not suited for the menu and the prices. The menu, in fact, is huge and some items are curious and singular. The food is decidedly better than the "trattoria" forecast, and the whole dishes have been appreciated. The meat was well cooked and its taste was fine, like the pastas and pizzas one. I stress that the turnip greens, of the plates you can find in the pictures, seemed to have a different preparation for the pasta and for the pizza, and this indicates a great sense of cooking. The presentation and decoration of the plates were particular and refined, and cannot be compared to a whatever trattoria in Italy. The service was fast and attentive, ready to answer all the requests for food and suggestions but did a wrong sum -account- of the items, adding some entries in our receipt, which already had a price definitely high for a trattoria. I guess that it's worth a visit although I'll suggest the management to convert this local from "trattoria" to a restaurant of higher value, because it has all the bases to grow high.More
