Ths restaurant has given us an experience that we'll stay with us forever. The location is BEAUTIFUL: in a small little village, on the hills, surrounded by the high mountains of Abruzzo. The restaurant is an old house in the Borgo, all beautifully renovated, with vaultaed ceilings, terracotta tiles, fire place and traditional Abruzzo furniture. The food is OUTSTANDING. You will be able to taste the authentic Abruzzo cuisine as its best. With all the original ingredients of this area, saffron, truffle, porcini mushrooms, chickpeas etc. And the service is....EXCEPTIONAL! The waiter was friendly, patient and quick, but most of all he knew every dish to the details and he explained with flair. We went to "Il Borgo dei Fumari" one night, we booked for the following evening and if we visit Abruzzo again in the future we will certainly go back! Grazie!

We stayed in this inn where the food, atmosphere, kindness, attention are part of a unique package, excellent value for money, attentive and very friendly. Lino told us a little about his story, his dreams and his current reality. Great man and great talent. We'll come back to see him

It is not the first time I have come to this restaurant and my evaluation is the result of all the visits made: I want to point this out because the last experience was not fully satisfactory. However, in general, the place is worth a visit: located in a village in constant reconstruction, it is an old house divided into different floors, in more or less small, but suggestive rooms; you can also eat outside. The service is quick and friendly. The menu is based on local gastronomy, based on meat, legumes, vegetables and offers numerous options. Among the starters, the parmesan pie with crunchy bacon and cooked must is exquisite, while the mixed one (indicated as "Gran Gourmet") stands out for its abundance and variety; all the good ones are the first and the second; delicious, among the desserts, the orange foam; rich choice of wines. Last time, unfortunately, the mixed starter was not as plentiful and varied as usual and the fusilloni were really scarce. The average price for a complete meal (excluding wine) is around 55-60 euros.

Really characteristic place: housed in an old house, each room has its own peculiarity. Sophisticated environment and attention to detail. Quick and fairly courteous staff, special dishes and well dropped on local specialties (saffron, mushrooms, bacon, etc.). Recommended especially the first and second. Prices above average for the type of dishes offered. Inside the room there is no cell phone: neither for internet nor for calls; given the very uncomfortable location to reach, you could equip yourself to overcome this problem at least.

I state that we know the place and have often come in the past. We returned two years after the last time. The courses are always good but the starter, which was really the top, disappointing, is now less and in line with other restaurants. The thing that disappointed us most of all though was the service and the bill. Immediately we realized that on one menu there were two items, deleted instead on the other and that is tasting of two first courses of your choice and tasting of three first courses of your choice. We ask which one we should take into consideration and the lady tells us that only the entry “taste of two first courses” is valid. OK. We order 1 starter and 1 taste of two first courses (how we share them is our business) then water, wine and a treat. The only courtesy I ask is to let out one of the two first tastes with the appetizer to make my 6-year-old son eat. Eventually my son is brought the first but we will find that it has been calculated as an extra complete dish, because the lady says she did not understand. And in the end we will also discover that instead of 1 tasting of first he calculated 2 tastings of first, because even in this case he says he did not understand and therefore calculated it as 1 each! I had a tub made to take home, which I had to do. 85€ bill, that we knew we were going to eat fresh seafood! In his “we misunderstood” smiling there is unprofessionalism, always if he really misunderstood! Because in the end she misunderstood but we had to pay her st misunderstanding how it works?! For heaven's sake, never again! Customers lost.

Let me start by saying that I lost the credentials of my trip account and had to create another one so I'm not new to the platform. This place was recommended to us by a couple of people and as soon as we enter I admit that the location is very nice. We sit down and order food. The appetizers without infamy and without praise but I immediately noticed that the glasses smelled of egg.... do you know when they weren't washed well?!?! Well like that. We order the half moons first and I immediately notice that the part where the mass is "attached" to prevent the contents inside from coming out is very thick so much so that it remains hard and raw, plus the saffron seemed to float in the water so much so that it did not no cream was created to make the half moon more inviting. The other first course with radicchio and bacon shows a lot of oil and fat but still remains separate from the pasta as if it had not been sautéed together. I ask the waitress for information a couple of times (a type of cheese in the starter and the ingredients of the pasta I took) and both times she replies that she has to ask in the kitchen (I didn't ask for the moon). Finally I ask for some chilli and I'll post a photo of how it was brought to me because it's really embarrassing (plastic container of star anise). To finish, sweet gentian liqueur which in Abruzzo is a sacrilege. It's a shame because the place is very nice, but unfortunately that's all.

The delicious dishes we savored at Borgo dei Fumari were a true riot of local flavours, prepared with skill and passion. Each dish told the culinary story of the region in a surprising and tasty way. But what really made our experience unforgettable was the warm welcome and extraordinary hospitality of the staff. From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed like long-time friends. This is why, moved by enthusiasm and gratitude, we decided to return to Borgo dei Fumari the following day to savor so much goodness again and renew the extraordinary experience it gave us.

Always a certainty! We discovered this restaurant by chance a few years ago and we fell in love with it! High quality cuisine making the most of the raw materials, medium/high prices but as expected given the quality! The staff is attentive and very courteous and finally the location is truly beautiful, especially the balcony if you dine at sunset but the cellar is also very beautiful! What to say? For us it's a certainty every time we return to these parts, try it to understand!

Suggestive location we were alone on a terrace overlooking sunset.the room inside consists of small rooms some with fireplace. Friendly staff. Giant mixed bruschetta with a phenomenal ham accompanied by fried pizza dough. Pork cheek with excellent juniper and strips of Spanish beef with very tender lard. Correct price

A staple in our territory, one of the best restaurants of L'Aquila, to taste true flavors in a truly original place. I had lunch with the family at the adjacent grotto (so-called "beak") as the main room was full (it always is in the wkd, Reservation Requirement), but the satisfaction was total. Staff punctual and extremely courteous. Bravo Lino and the whole team, keep going!

I had had previous experiences, always with excellent dishes and impeccable service, but this time I was not satisfied, slow service and above all a diner served after a quarter of an hour when the other guests had already finished. Slightly discounted appetizers that are now served in many places. Some of the first courses were poorly seasoned and not very tasty

Lino has built something incredible: restructuring 5 old houses he got a fantastic and special restaurant where you can enjoy good dishes and good wine while being involved in an old-styled space which remembers you “home”. Very recommended as first dish “gnocchi with guanciale and crusco pepper” and also “parmigiano tortino with guanciale and oranges” . Homemade wine was also very good. Thanks Lino for explaining your dream project to us and we invite everyone to share it with him!

We went to this tavern with high expectations considering the reviews we had read. A total disappointment!! The food is almost like a trattoria, the service disappointing to say the least. The only positive thing was the waitress Giulia who with courtesy and friendliness tried to remedy the irremediable.

One of a kind restaurant. A completely renovated multi-storey house used as a restaurant with charming, well-furnished and very welcoming rooms and an open kitchen on the ground floor. Excellent and well prepared food, friendly, attentive and fast staff. Truly recommended

Very well kept place. Suggestive environment that takes you back centuries in the history of these places. Good service, friendly and welcoming staff. We had some ravioli and gnocchi, both with Novelli saffron, which we thought were very good. The dessert is also good: pear and parmesan tart with caramel chips. Fair price. I advise.
