Expectations exceeded! Top food, top staff!

When we reserved a table over the phone, we were already looking forward to dinner outside on the terrace/summer garden (with lighting as it got dark = an insider tip :-) ). The friendly service was very competent and was able to recommend an additional dish (on the day). The food was very high quality, but not expensive. A great dinner; we will definitely come back.

Fresh, loving and exceptional

The place is very nicely decorated, the service was warm throughout. We sat in the conservatory, were on two evenings of our short break at Riegers. The restaurant was very well attended on both days. Nevertheless, the food came very quickly and above all incredibly delicious and the main courses hot on the table. The yellow-beet starter was lovingly “divided” into two plates, the main courses were all 4 on point and delicious. It is not an art to cook new and crazy dishes and to make an impression with them - but it is quite one to make well-known dishes shine. And this is done impressively here:). It was all incredibly delicious! Thanks for the nice evenings. You played a major part in ensuring that Oberstdorf will be remembered very well.

Lovely meal

A little off the beaten track so less noisy - no accordion player, people singing along etc! Delicious meal - we shared fried goats cheese for starter, had the venison and the fish for mains and shared dumplings with apricot sauce for dessert. Ate outside, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere - need to book especially if you want an outside table. Thank you

Super tasty food. Very fresh and not overcooked. We had, among other things, the boiled beef shoulder in horseradish and beetroot sauce with delicious fried potatoes. A dream. And the dessert: rhubarb crumble with ice cream. We'd go back anytime. Nice atmosphere, nice service. An all-round successful evening. The salad and the fish with lime risotto are also recommended.

A nice little restaurant in the heart of Obedstdorf. The food is really very good, especially the meat! Excellent ! Very pleasant staff in a cozy setting. A great discovery, which will make us come back!

Certainly worth a try, but you need to book!

Couldn't get a table outside as this restaurant is so popular (even though had booked weeks in advance!). Very good food and service in a restaurant that is still very evidently a family establishment. Frequented by locals as well as tourists.

Good food, good service.

Service was excellent. We turned up without a reservation but still were made very welcome. The food was tasty and the beer was also worth drinking..... We all agreed that we would be coming here again next year.

A really nice and delicious place ! We came here for dinner and had the Kohlrabi soup which is a MUST try along with the goat cheese appetizer- then we had the rump steak and the truffle noodles which were both very delicious!! One of our top places to come visit !

Great atmosphere, even better food!

We found this restaurant by accident and decided to stay. The menu was short and sweet - you could see that they have a clear passion for fresh local food. Overall, this restaurant serves creative and very "balanced" food. The presentation is fantastic and the tastes balance themselves. I recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in Oberstdorf.

This place is situated off the main streets but well worth the walk. I was lucky enough to turn up at the restaurant and get a table on a Tuesday at about 18.30 but after that all visitors were politely turned away, I would recommend to book. The food was excellent and fairly priced and the staff were friendly. Will be going back when next in town.

Last night dinner

We had our last dinner in Obertsdorf at Riegers and it was a wonderful experience. We only discovered it through Trip Advisor and were very impressed. We had a very interesting main course followed by lovely deserts. We visit Obertsdorf on a regular basis and will definitely be coming back.

Although we were on holidays in Oberstdorf we still had our date night dinner. We chose Riegers as it seemed a bit off the beaten track. We ate twice there. Food, service and ambience was great.

A little classic Island in the middle of the mountains

Very friedly and personal restaurant with national and local dishes. The owners are serving you the best way they expected to be treaded themselves. The interieur is very cosy and friendly and the quality level of the wine and food is very good. Check the winelist for some special wines from Germany and Italy. I am sure you find something that will definitely match with your food selection - it is just delicious. Try out and enjoy the culinaria touch of Allgäu on a very resonable price and great quality level.

They really wanted us to be happy customers

We're vegetarians which in a lot of restaurants in Germany is difficult. Even with the language barrier the waiting staff brought the chef/owner out so we could discuss the options we wanted around their delicious sounding vegetarian choices. We were really pleased they cared and delighted with what they served. The beer is very good too!

Very nice cozy place with good cuisine

We really enjoyed the evening, food was pleasant and service very good. Additionally, we could take desserts out, unfortunately in the end of the evening (after10 pm) there was not a big choice of desserts. BTW one of the few restaurants in Oberstdorf where kitchen is still open at 9:30pm! Thank you for not letting us starve ;) Disadvantage: English translation of the menu not that accurate.
