We were recommended this restaurant and were not disappointed. The raclette meal was fantastic with a huge block of cheese and the accompaniment of either vegetarian or meat options was really good. For €100 for four people including a bottle of wine we could hardly walk for the amount of food we ate. Excellent choice for raclette. And the service? Wonderfully friendly young staff who were helpful and friendly. Would we go back again? Yes! Next time I’d love to try their cote de boef as it looked and smelt amazing.

A small popular friendly restaurant in the old town. We knew just what to order as our daughter and son in law had eaten there the day before, and their recommendation was perfect. Squid with bacon, garlic and chilli - you only need one between two if you choose to have the Cote d'boeuf and you'd be crazy not to! The beef is cooked over a wood fire and was simply the best we've ever eaten, tender, tasty and totally delicious. Our waitress spoke great English, all the staff are very friendly and although the restaurant seems small it's amazing how many it can serve. But you must book and be prepared to wait for you beef, but enjoy the wine whilst you do. The cafe gourmand is a great idea but we should have shared that too!

What a find - we booked on a recommendation on chalet staff night off and it was heaving. Luckily our party of five ravenous carnivores were treated to a beef fest. Sharing the cote de boeuf everyone was completely stuffed and very happy. Staff friendly, wine reasonably priced and a pity we had no excuse to return this week.

Went here with high expectations for our wedding anniversary. Seated downstairs in what can only be described at a goldfish bowl - so incredibly noisy, to the point we could hardly hear one another speak. Food was ok, but nothing special. Menu was not very extensive. Waiters were polite but over stretched. Commented to the hostess on departing how noisy it was (after she asked how meal was) only to receive a lecture on how I was wrong and that there was nothing wrong with their restaurant. Very rude! There are much better restaurants to be found in Alpe Huez.

Just visited this restaurant as a family of 3, it was exceptional! We are from Uk, we had a few meals in France over 3 years, but this little gem is worth coming to ! Service is great, food is absolutely delicious and it also has affordable prices, we had a lot less quality meals for a more expensive bill before...it's advisable to book a table, though, they are full on a night....We would like to thank you very much for a lovely evening, keep up the good job, Le Cremaillere !! hope to return soon

We've eaten at La Crémaillère multiple times and it's is always perfection! The Cote de boeuf is a must try but also the fondus and raclettes are excellent. The atmosphere is great and the service is friendly and professionnel. The head chef and the maître d are the owners so you know you will always get quality food and service. Definitely recommend booking in advance as it's incredibly popular. Do not miss out!

Waiter explained the menu well for us, we went on a recommendation on the cote de boeuf. Starters were great too. Portion size was ample and quality of food was amazing! Atmosphere was really nice, we felt really looked after - the complimentary bread, table water and aperitif was a nice touch. The hostess was really polite and thanked us for eating with them. This is a MUST when visiting Alpe D’Huez!

This restaurant is truly excellent. We were very well advised on the wines as well as the starters that we wanted to discover (Basque specialties) Regarding the dish, we opted for the prime rib. The meat was excellent, very well cooked, and really tasted delicious. The value for money of this dish was very good, compared to other restaurants in the resort where the prime rib is much more expensive! I highly recommend this restaurant, the staff is very pleasant and available. They know their products and know how to advise customers properly. A restaurant worth the detour.

Alpe D’huez is quiet at the moment so when we found Ala Cremailler we were pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian menu. They exceeded our expectations in all regards A friendly welcome, energetic atmosphere and an attitude where nothing is a problem made for a fantastic night. The vegetarian food was made to be photographed -lovely colourful ingredients with great flavours. For once the vegetarians in our family could experience a version of the Tartiflette that all alpine skiers love. The Cote de Boeuf- 1kg of beautifully cooked wood fired beef was delicate and perfect. Some simple wine (they have all bases covered up to some very fine bottles) and it was a phenomenal night. Everyone left that restaurant smiling and you will too

Always a treat, a mixture of typical dishes from the Basque country and mountain dishes, everything is prepared on site and fresh. They have an incomparable sense of hospitality and the service is top notch. In addition, they adapt to everyone's illnesses (allergies and intolerances) within reason. Little tip for coeliacs (hyper sensitive) the traditional raclette did not make me sick despite the service warning me that the cold cuts were not certified gluten-free.

Exceptional birthday dinner. Catalan-style chipirons to wait for an extra prime rib of beef 🐂. Extra chocolate dessert too. Extremely rich wine. We're going back for Valentine's Day!

Gorgeous little restaurant with amazing food. Yes, it's tiny and we were a big party of 9 a little squashed in but that doesn't matter when the food is this good. Definitely recommend the basque pate with the little pickled vegetables on the side and the tartiflette but make sure you're hungry as the portions are enormous! Great wine list too. Our waitress was lovely - smiley and helpful. Overall a fabulous place - one of the best in Alpe D'Huez.
