Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I had a local trout dish with rice that was simply the best trout I have eve had delicate flavour and not too much. The creme caramel that I had to follow was just lovely. My wife had a pork dish with creamed potatoes and again wonderfully prepared and served. This is a small two man operation so service can be slow if you arrive at a busy time but we were happy to wait as the ambience is lovely. Being so small they don't offer a wide menu but what they do offer is prepared and cooked to a very high standard. I found the waiter spoke good English and although I speak good French we used English as my wife doesn't speak French. A bit of patience was well rewarded. We returned the next night as we had enjoyed it so much. The tartiflette that I had was very good but not quite up to the standard of the trout from the previous night. My wife had the pork again it was so good!

This restaurant is run by one person in front of house and the chef. We had special dietary requirements due to a severe allergy. Nothing was too much trouble. We wanted to eat in this restaurant the following evening so they ordered in special food for us. It didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable. Great service. Highly recommended.

Very nice discovery in the town center of Alpe d'Huez, we chose the menu at 45€ (starter/main course/dessert) unbeatable for the quality of the products, finesse and accuracy of preparation of the dishes. The owner of the place is a purist, offers regional products, a lover of the profession and you can feel it in his dishes!!! Everything is homemade from starter to dessert, even the cheeses are incredibly well chosen with a sense for tasting, we recommend with your eyes closed, reservations required, avoid the February school holiday periods, the incivility of tourists and vacationers makes the quality of service impossible to manage, the restaurant is open all year round and it is already so courageous for them to keep it open while all the others are closed, bravo bravo bravo for this dedication!

Our hotel also recommended this restaurant and we were looking forward to it. However, as soon as we arrived at 7.30pm, there was clearly a problem. There was only one man looking after the entire restaurant. And there was only one menu board that was painstakingly brought to each table. I’m the meantime. No drinks, no nothing was offered. It became clear that we were going to have to sit at our table with nothing until it was our turn to finally see the menu board. When this time eventually came, we quickly ordered drinks and then went to order food. But, he was completely inflexible with the menu. I don’t eat rice and it was not possible to substitute this with vegetables. In fact, we couldn’t even order a side dish of vegetables at extra cost. Everything was met with a resounding Non! His attitude was very unpleasant and we decided to cut out losses and pay for our drinks (which we didn’t drink) and leave.

There were limited places to eat as it was still 5 days until the summer season officially opened in Alpe d’huez. Our hotel recommended this place and we were expecting great times but were really disappointed. The service was being managed by one individual that although doing his best was clearly stretched to his limit. 2 mains and one special (steak). The food was ok but wasn’t great and my steak was warm/cold. Chips were ok, We only got our water shortly before the bill. Was going to have a dessert but got fed up of waiting! Could be so much better if they increased their staffing!

Welcome like a prison door! for a Saturday 9:15 p.m. our reservation for 9 people. we order 4 Savoyard fondues and we are a table of 9, so 2 on each end! (it is clearly noted in the card that you must be 2) So what we did) Except that the waitress comes to tell us that there will be only one fondue pot for 4!! I tell him it's rated for 2 if we can have 2 because the people placed at the ends do not correspond because we put the young people on one side and the older ones on the other! She tells me it's not possible, that otherwise there is a fondue pot that will be cold and that if they transverse it won't be the same! I tell him that he manages it in the kitchen, that’s none of our business! She brings us just one and puts it down without saying anything (let's manage)!! So no choice but to move everyone! She does not care ! We ordered and everyone was served at the same time (this was perfect, we could all start eating together) Throughout the meal, each time someone has finished their plate, the waitress is on the lookout to clear the plate!!! This is very rude, especially since the whole table hasn't finished eating! We take turns finishing eating, of course the plates are all cleared, we still have the water and wine glasses. we are waiting for the waitress for desserts when suddenly she arrives and asks us if she can remove the glasses that we no longer use! We were always with our wines and our waters! I tell him it's not possible we're still at the table it's not polite! we order cheese and desserts. The cheese arrives and we ask for bread. We order coffee and we also ask for sugar when suddenly the boss's son comes and asks us to finish our coffee and leave because it's 11:10 p.m. and the staff hasn't eaten and we'll start again tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.!!😡😡😡😨 😨😨😳😳😳😳😱😱😱😱😱 I tell him that it doesn't concern us if they haven't eaten!!! And I ask him for the bill to leave as quickly as possible. It’s a real shame because where it’s located in the old Alps, the geographical location is already not great. Staff to flee! Knowing that we regularly go to the restaurant and this is really the first time that we have been served and, above all, expeditiously cleared. for a Saturday evening during school holidays!!!

When you enter, wipe your feet!! Or put on overshoes…. It is noted on the front door Limit if you are not told to go wash the toilets when leaving Please note, no changes are possible on the menu, you eat what is written HERE and nothing else, it is clearly noted on the first page of the menu. I asked to change the scoop of vanilla ice cream on the apple pie. place of the apple sorbet ball: not impossible In short, sir, you should change jobs

During a short stay on the Alpe d'huez, we discover this restaurant with its warm decoration and mouthwatering menu. We opt for an essential mountain specialty: raclette. Served generously with quality local produce, a very fragrant and tasty cheese, an assortment of artisan deli meats, a crunchy salad and local potatoes. A pure moment of gastronomic pleasure for a local dish. And to orchestrate all this a very friendly and especially very efficient young waiter. Restaurant of the Old Alpe open year to discover. I highly recommend

The food was ok but the manager was very unfriendly, service by young people with no experience and not a smile. Clear the table before we're done. Can't wait to finish their service..In a place where raclettes and fondues are served, good ventilation would be appreciated. I do not recommend at all.

During the French chess championship we tested many restaurants as a group. Au puit des Saveurs was the best experience. Very warm waitress and owner, prices identical to those charged everywhere in the resort BUT unrivaled quality! The mountain specialties are great (whether it's the raclette or the hot box, the charcuterie accompanying them was really excellent) but the daily slate is also a good surprise (I loved the hot chocolate mousse accompanied by its vanilla scoop! ) Note that the ice creams are all homemade which is a big plus!

We were passing through Alpe d'Huez. In off season, the station is quite empty, many restaurants closed. We were lucky enough to come across the Well of Flavors. A restaurant that ticks all the boxes and where we loved spending our evenings. The cuisine is delicious, simple and original at the same time. The restaurant is warm, friendly. Awards are absolutely correct. We sincerely enjoyed ourselves and recommend!! Very important point for us: the chef seems to really consider his staff. Employees seem to enjoy working here. Everyone is friendly, professional and relaxed. Special thanks to the young person in the room at that time and to the chef. We even had the dijos offered. A real pleasure for us.

Good cuisine: mountain dishes but not only. The service is pleasant and the chef comes to see if everything is going well. It's homemade. I would have liked to have a few additional choices of dishes (more dietary for small appetites). The genepi crème brûlée is killer.

Small, cozy restaurant which has the great merit of being open in November. Little choice but this allows the quality to be there. Everything was delicious (paleron, andouillette, apple pie and gènepi crème brûlée). Efficient server. We will come back for the hot chocolate mousse which seemed excellent to our table neighbors!

It probably is nice food but I’m afraid we had to leave as the staff could not cope with volume. 20 mins no drink so we slung hooks!

We came for a family dîner during our two day stay. The food was good but the service slow. Not all deserts were available which was a bit disappointing.
