Le Génépi Alpe d'Huez est un restaurant français bistronomique proposant une cuisine de saison, le tout fait maison. Nous vous accueillons dans le quartier historique du Vieil Alpe pour vous faire découvrir la carte élaborée par nos Chefs. Côté cuisine, nous avons fait le choix d'une carte courte, avec des produits frais, qui respecte les saisonnalités et que nous renouvelons tous les mois. L'été, notre terrasse permet de manger au soleil, tandis que l'hiver, notre salle et sa véranda vous feront profiter de la vue sur les montagnes ! Nous sommes Maître Restaurateur depuis 2019.

While passing through Alpe d’Huez for 1 week, we were surprised to discover Génépi. Superb discovery, we actually went back a second time to taste part of the rest of the menu (everything looked so good that we were frustrated not to be able to taste everything). The cuisine is delicate and gourmet, full of flavors.
The quality/price ratio is great: chef's cuisine with starter, main course and dessert for a more than affordable price! The welcome was warm and the waiter gave us very good advice on the choice of wines.
Don’t leave Alpe d’Huez without taking a trip there!
Thank you to the whole Génépi team and I will definitely come back if I am passing through Alpe d’Huez!!!

This is an excellent restaurant where all the dishes that we had were well presented and had a real depth of flavour. If you want traditional ski resort fare, then go elsewhere. This is properly cooked, modern food albeit in a traditional idiom. The value for money was excellent and I really hope the business thrives because it deserves to do so.

Top beautiful place! Magnificent old chalet with a warm interior.
The welcome and service is pleasant.
The food is delicious, the young owners are very friendly. And the price for a starter, main course and dessert of this quality is very, very reasonable and affordable. This was our second visit and we will be back

Booked this for our last meal as it’s the second highest rating in the area.
Context: first night we visited Pomme Du Pin (rated 17th) and had a great raclette and second night ate at Le Chalet Du PerSille (rated 5th) and had amazing steak, tartiflet and bbq salmon.
Both came in at £125 for two adults and two young teenagers including a bottle of wine. Pricey but expected in the Alpes.
So, hungry we visited Le Genopie. Beautifully appointed, cosy and friendly staff.
I think if you have the tasting menu that you’ll have a lovely meal but will spend a lot. Maybe €100 per person.
If you choose a La carte you will choose from 3 mains all of which are €27 and are tiny portions so you will leave hungry.
I had octopus risotto and my wife had pork belly. The kids had a pasta thing which was the only suitable thing for them.
All of the food was okay, not delicious but interesting but we had to order bread (€2) to try to fill us up.
If you’ve had a day on the slopes I’d recommend spending a lot less and getting your fill elsewhere.
Essentially this is a restaurant attempting fine dining and not getting it not quite right.
£130 for four very small plates of food is silly.

Désolé cher monsieur mais je me dois de vous répondre.
Vous dites que vous étiez affamé, peut etre la prochaine fois prendre une entrée et un dessert et non juste un plat ? Notre menu dégustation est en 5 plats a 69€ et non 100€ comme vous le dites, peut etre la prochaine fois des lunettes vous serons nécessaires.
Vous dites que nous facturons le pain 2€ ???? Désolé mais en France le pain est offert et GRATUIT. Merci de m'envoyer une photo de votre addition avec le pain facturé.... C'est beau de mentir derrière son ordinateur plutôt que de nous faire part de vos remarques en face.
Désolé, la prochaine un fish and chips et des frites tièdes vous irons surement mieux, dommage qu'il n'y ai pas de montagnes en Angleterre....
C'est dommage, notre chef a 23 ans et nous nous efforçons de vous faire découvrir de nouvelles saveurs, des choses que vous n'avez pas l'habitude de manger mais quand on a un palais comme le votre, a part la bière et des frites, c'est compliqué.....

Cosy restaurant with friendly staff. Food was alright, based on photos on the website we had higher expectations. Their menu offers only 3 dishes per course, we had some difficulties finding a dish we liked. When taking the order, we already had to order the dessert also. We found out why......speed of serving the dishes. Course after course was served so extremely fast, it more felt like fast food restaurant. If would suggest at least 5-10min in between courses. No need to set world records ;-).

A very nice setting with friendly and pleasant service.
The menu offers nice solutions for all tastes at reasonable prices for products as offered. I really liked the foie gras starter as well as the dessert. Small downside on the octopus which was unfortunately much too rubbery to be tasted at its true value but the accompaniments and seasonings were very good nonetheless.

A perfect gourmet restaurant! Exactly the intimate and refined place we were looking for. The cuisine is delicious, the dishes tasty, a real explosion of flavors.
The welcome is careful and friendly.
We highly recommend this address which is a change from the mountain specialties of other restaurants.

From the meal to the service, everything was absolutely perfect. The room is beautiful and intimate, the dishes are very well executed and the presentation is simple but refined. The wine list is truly impressive.

Good table, beautiful, well-crafted, slightly original products. Quantities a little light and prices a little high for bistronomic food; decent wine list. The cuisine is refined with subtle flavors. Standard service. Standard decor.
We find it too expensive at more than 140 for 2 and the English are a little noisy. But good for cooking...

Perfect for a super quick dinner.
Arrived quietly at 7 p.m. We left the restaurant before 8 p.m. despite choosing the 50€ menu with 3 courses^^^
Everything came together without being able to say phew...result...a slightly difficult digestion
Otherwise decent starter and dishes. Unappealing desserts....

We had lunch at Génépi, daily menu at 24€ starter, main course and quality dessert. Homemade gazpacho with an ice cream starter, black place and rice for the dish and delicious Choco mousse for dessert.
The price seemed more than correct for this quality, what’s more in the mountains where prices sometimes soar.

Yesterday evening we went to dinner at the Génépi
Very nice place with 5 star service from start to finish and the dishes were very delicious especially the Angus prime rib and its accompaniments without forgetting its very stocked cellar

Very enjoyable experience, It was a Monday night so quite quiet, but this did not impact on the welcome, the ambience, the food or the wine which were all either warm, comfortable or delicious. Would recommend highly. By Alpes d Huez standards decent value too
