Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Oh my goodness, the portions are huge. We ordered the carpaccio and a dish which involved a whole melted cheese, copious amounts of fabulous ham and enough perfectly cooked tiny new potatoes to feed a family of four plus a very good green salad. We managed to finish the carpaccio and a fair bit of the cheese only because it was soo good, we couldn’t bear not too but had to abandon most of the ham and potatoes. We didn’t need to eat again for the rest of the day. Would go out of my way to go again but maybe share one meal.

We visited twice, lovely spot and great views of the mountains. The first visit we stopped for drinks and sat in the deck chairs taking in the view and the sunshine. Waiter service for drinks a little slow, but they were very busy.
We booked for lunch the next day, unfortunately not so pleasurable. They were very busy, slow service and the food very average. Most of our party had cold food, the onion soup was flavourless. The escalope milanaise was tough. Wouldn’t eat here again, however perfect for a drinks stop.

One of the Best Mountain Restaurants!
I read several negative reviews of Le Cabane and almost didn’t come. The reviews talked about bad food and rude service. …But we did come on January 28, 2023. What a great experience!
I decided to write this review to share our positive experience and to discredit negative reviews that talk about mediocre food and rude service.
We came to La Cabane for lunch. There are 8 people in our ski group. When we came to the restaurant, there were only 5 people present from our group( the rest were still making their way to the place)
I asked if there are any tables available and the manager of the restaurant told us (very politely and friendly) that there is nothing available outside and we would have to wait about 40 minutes, but he could sit us inside right away. We chose to sit inside.
As we were walking towards our table, I told the restaurant staff that our group is still not complete. Again, very friendly and politely they said that it was OK and that they understood our situation.
Despite the fact that we were still waiting for the rest of the group to show up, our waiter Jules was ready to start with the order. He was very professional, polite, helpful, and friendly. He explained the menu, shared his suggestions, and repeated some things several times, when asked.
Our meal was great. We ordered a variety of dishes and every one was tasty. One of us ordered a salmon poke bowl. It was great! The mountain specials were delicious. The wine was very good.
After we finished our meal, we walked out to the terrace and had our afternoon coffee with a million dollar view! What a treat!
We visited La Cabane two more times during the same stay and every time had the best experience. We dealt with many people and everyone was polite and professional.
Fabio, the waiter who was serving our table on our third visit was awesome!
Eglantine was greeting us and helping with our table reservations every visit. She was very delightful and helpful!
Thank you owners and staff for creating such a great experience for us!

Great French onion soup for lunch. We stopped as a big group here, and they coped with us well. The french onion soup comes in an enormous vat, and is certainly a meal in itself. We also came on a separate day at the end of the day to enjoy a sundowner - quieter than the Folie Douce just up the hill!

Probably one of the best views your going to have when eating your meal but over priced. 25 euros for a fairly average and luke warm burger. The restaurant at the top of Marcel’s farm do a great burger and chips that includes a drink for 23 euros that in comparison to this one was like ordering quarter pounder at McDonald’s and then receiving a hamburger. But what a location you could sit there all day

We stopped here for lunch on the slopes. There was plenty for everyone to choose from on the menu and the food was tasty & good value for money. The staff were efficient & friendly and we booked to come back for dinner later in the week. This was by reservation only, as they arrange to bring you up to the restaurant on a snowcat. It was great fun & a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant on the slopes at night. I would definitely recommend doing this.

This restaurant has a big terrace in a sunny spot with great views. When we arrived there was a 40 minute wait for a table outdoors or we could have a table indoors straight away. As we were all quite hungry we went for the indoor table. The staff were all very friendly and tolerated our efforts at ordering in French with good grace. 3 of us had the plat du jour (lasagne on a Wednesday!) and the 4th had a steak. The food was all brought very quickly and was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch.

Couldn’t recommend enough booking at La Cabane for dinner. Fun spot for a drink during the day but in the evening you can book a table and be collected from the village in a snowcat (piste basher) and taken up the mountain to the restaurant for dinner. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming. The food was brilliant. The staff were the best part, very friendly, couldn’t do enough for you. Very good menu too.

We had lunch as a family around 2:00 p.m. We had a place on the terrace but unfortunately there was no sun and a lot of wind. We ate our food and waited for the server to come back for 25 minutes. Obviously we were freezing. We want to have a hot chocolate inside, the waiter's response is "No, I'm also cold..." for a bill of more than €80 for three dishes, I find that a bit excessive!

Very fast and friendly service. Excellent price-quality ratio. They are very well organised. We returned every afternoon because it was far above the other restaurants in all areas. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves indoors, on the terrace and in the transats. Highly recommended.

Superb view, however it is better to stop by for a drink than to eat. The dishes are not great and are expensive for what they are. They served us UNCOOKED meat and when we point it out, there is no apology from them and they will simply cut the uncooked piece.
But don’t hesitate to stop by to take some photos & drink a hot chocolate!

Onion soups is enough for 2 to share! Prices seemed a little higher than other well-placed mountain restaurants. Hot chocolate not their best feature. Great deck for an afternoon drink on a sunny day with wonderful views.

We went to the cabin several times, we ate very well, excellent, including the ravioli, the lasagna, the burgers, without forgetting the slightly warm Liège waffle and its whipped cream 😋
The team is super efficient and very friendly! Looking forward to going back

Just returned from a week Snowboarding in Alpe d'Huez and we stopped here most days for a drink or two at the end of the day. It isnt far from La Folie Deuce and offers a less busy and more chilled alternative or a continuation for another drink.
The views of most of the resort are amazing from here and it was a real sun trap. The music is great, chilled out and tippy remixes of popular songs. I shazammed loads of tunes. The staff where friendly too! (Shout out to the waiter with the curly hair who was like a friend by the end of the week). It was my favourite place to stop for an apres drink!

This is a good restaurant to have lunch on the pistes. The food is good, not amazing, service is quick and friendly the atmosphere is warm, it looks clean. On the downside- usually crowded during the season and slightly pricey, but this is usually the case in French alpes.
