I have been to this restaurant several times for dinner and I think it is one of the finest in the area. Small with few seats which allows the owners to "spoil and pamper" customers. I have always eaten fish cooked in the most chic and tasty ways, in addition to original and creative presentation on the plate. Very good and refined food. Maybe you pay a little but fish is a food that requires care and I prefer to pay a little more but know what I'm eating. Elegant place also recommended for a business breakfast/lunch/dinner!

The wine by the glass had a cork smell that was immediately recognized without discussion. This is a plus. It can happen. All perfect. Oysters and scampi at the top. But two out of four shrimp still had black intestines. I took it off and they were perfect. It can happen in a restaurant, it shouldn't happen here. You can judge a fish restaurant by its risotto: it was perfect. High price but justified by the quality and impeccable service. Next time I will try the raw lobster and I will certainly try risotto again.

Booked on a quiet Sunday night , and found this gem of a family restaurant . Freshest fish served inventively with great wine list - the Soave Classico partnered the heavenly fresh scampi spaghetti in a rich, creamy, seafood stock sauce, followed by grilled sole - then a chocolate dessert with strawberries- all haven on a plate !, beautifully and attentively served, and cooked by a serious chef who spoke perfect English, and took the trouble to check all was OK- A real find!!

Just a few numbers... an appetizer 22 euros then 4 grilled scampi 91 euros for a total of 125 euros with a beer, water and a coffee...me alone. Of course it's also good... but it seems exaggerated to me. You do.

Went there because of TripAdvisor Reviews. To get in you need to ring. Welcome was friendly, but English Language Skills nearly 0. No English Menue Card but ok. The Starter was very good cooked. The Fish Carpaccio of fresh Fish was really fresh but without any Herbs, Salt or Pepper. The Risotto very good. All in all the service is a big pity. No smile no nothing. Maybe to the Italian People, but not for Tourists. Not asked if we need something. To pay we had to go to the counter. All in All very expensive for this small amount of food and sitting space.

I have been at the Tavernetta with a friend because I read a lot of enthusiastic reviews and I wanted to have some raw fish and fried fish. We drunk a good Franciacorta and ordered some french oysters to start. They were simply great, specially the Gillardeau. After that we had some octopus with 'nduja which is a kind of spicy spreadable pork cold cut, typical from Calabria. A quite original combination but I have to admit they nailed it. After that we ordered a mixture of fried fish and I kindly requested if I could have some home-made mayonnaise with it. The answer was quite controversial: they are not serving mayonnayse or katchup with fish. I explained kindly that I did not mention any katchup but a home-made mayonnaise nonetheless I was told that the real taste of fish must be preserved and other not-requested tips about gastronomic hortodoxy. Mad italian foodies. I am italian though and I always like to have some mayonnayse or aioli when I eat fried fish. After all I didn't overreact when I saw the 'nduja with the octopus, did I? Having said that, the fried fish was delicious. One of the best I've ever had. High priced but definetly quality food. Customer service must improve.

this very small, but cozy restaurant is within walking distance (10 minutes) from Mestre's main square. It is specialized in fish. I had cooked antipasti: very tasty and fritto misto. excellent and very copious with various small fishes, in the laguna veneta tradition, and vegetables. Other people had spaghetti alle vongole: very good, but with a bit too few vongole. Very good wine list.

Went with some friends during the week. Small place we were a few and we had to sit at the only table that was big enough, though it was near the counter. Starters (seafood crudités and steamed fish) were great, but we weRen't enthusiastic of the pasta. Staff was friendly and nice. Overall a good experience

Great service, great seafood, great wine, smile, etc. We loved this cozy restaurant. We will come back for sure. Recommended!

This is a small family run restaurant with amazing seafood, amazing chef! The food tasted so amazing, although we don't speak Italian they were very accommodating and explained their Italian menu to us. They were very passionate when describing their food, and we ended up sharing bits of entrees, main course and desserts!! Do book in advance as it's very small but it's cozy. This is truly a hidden and I'm so pleased to have found it!

this is again a place that you need to try as they are very very passionate in the food they describe and prepare for you. it is good for family/couple but also friends...as i did try the whole of them. This time was family and it is difficult to describe you the different kind of dishes we had...As we asked all times to get lots already split in the kitchen....so you can bite little bit of everything. anyway the MUST (for the ones they never heard about) is FISH truly Venetian style. Book in advance as it is very very small

One of the better seafood eating experiences that we've ever had! Although the restaurant is small and in a section of town that is possibly not the best, it is well worth a visit if you are in the Venezia area. We found the menu to be exciting, effectively showcasing the best seasonal shellfish and finfish from nearby Venice Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. The raw appetizers were particularly wonderful, and a great introduction to Venetian cuisine. Even the desserts and liquor selection (20 year old Scotch? who would have thought?) were splendid. The small space was cleverly designed and decorated, and the staff very welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about good food. We ended up going two nights in a row since we were so impressed, and didn't think we could find a comparable meal for the price (which was not cheap, but reasonable for what you get).

If it happens you're in Venice either for pleasure or business and you really would like to seat on a peaceful, small and cosy restaurant, just take your time to jump to Mestre, only few minutes by cab from Venice. You will only taste real catch of the day combined with the art and mastery of and experienced and talented chef. Good wine selections and fine service will accompany your delicious dishes. Forget your diet for at least one day to end up your dinner with refreshing sorbets or let you seduce by tempting desserts or a wide selections of wiskeys or rums. Last but not least: all at real reasonable prices compared with food and beverages quality.
