If it weren’t for the live music this place would be a total flop as the food leaves a lot to be desired and is extortionately priced to boot ! A case in point was the Chateaubriand which came over laden with copious burnt vegetables...that the waiter took an age to serve out onto each plate before he got down to the much more important business of carving the beef which he did in over thick clumsy style. The day however could have been saved if the meat was of decent quality but regrettably it was far from that and we all struggled to eat it. The flood of burnt vegetables were left uneaten and handed back to the rather glum waitress at the end. Needless to say at the enormous prices charged the owners most surely have to spend a little to import some half decent quality n’est pas ??More

A Bistro suffering from Long Covid, that’s how our visit today felt. We have long been admirers of the establishment, but the lunchtime offering fell well below the standards of previous years. We realise that since our last visit in Feb 2020 much has changed,...primarily the short menu, lack of true bistro eclectic dishes, and many new staff, not least the chefs, but this current offering is not for us. The rooms no doubt still have their “charm”, but whilst local competitors are moving on and up, La Perla on the culinary front at least appears stationary and living in the past. I read all the congratulatory reviews and feel that it’s clientele over enthuse as one would if they had spent a fortune on a new car that does not perform well on the road. Despite being over staffed, service was a little disappointing particularly in the description of dishes. A Sea Bass was overladen with truffle, but the risotto that followed was bland. The opposite of what we had ordered in fact. When your waiter starts to weigh a fairly average black truffle the “warning flags” are being waved that you are now in the presence of style over substance. This should not really be necessary…After 20 plus years of meals and lunches, we have sadly reached the end of the road. The old buzz has gone. In fact it was Zzzzz.More

Not worth it. My girlfriend took me here for my birthday as I had wanted to go to La Perla for some time given its reputation. I don’t know anything about the rooms but I would avoid the bistro. We ordered the expensive chestnut and...black truffle risotto and it was horrible. The rice was very undercooked and the truffles smelled of a wet rag (we are both quite experienced eating and handling truffles). When we sent it back the staff were incredulous. We probably should’ve argued more but they did not deduct this from our bill. Our second course was a steak (topped with the mouldy truffles) and a plate of grilled vegetables. From the photo you can see that the vegetables were burnt black. We sent this back to the kitchen immediately and it was deducted from our bill. I asked to speak to the chef as I cannot believe that anyone was looking after the quality of our meal and anyone who knows how to cook risotto would have known that you tasted before serving to know that it’s cooked. I was obviously wasn’t. The chef never arrived but one of the staff confirmed that the store their truffles in a wet cloth... I would avoid eating at the bistro at all costs.More

After having a mediocre dinner at the La Stua! We had dinner at the Bistrot Music Club tonight! It was wonderful! Went with the recommendations of Stefano! Started off with a wonderful Pizza starter and then had a risotto! This was probably the best I...have ever had! Our main course was a Veal and Venison! Both were beautifully prepared and delicious! Then Stefano recommended his favorite desert called Kaiserschmarren! It was fantastic! The entire meal was wonderful! So much better than La Stua! The hotel is beautiful but don’t understand why they keep pushing the mediocre Michelin La Stua when the food is so much better in the Bistrot!More

This is a fabulous place to stay. The staff are all kind and gracious. The food is delicious, with various restaurants to choose from. The hiking guide, Anatoli is patient and knowledgeable. I love the comfortable rooms and the toiletries.

What distinguishes this hotel/restaurant is their top-trained staff and home-like settings. Food and wine were great, the best of all was a live band with such a talent and great jazzy-funk music, that the whole restaurant started to dance. A place to go for a...more demanding guest, who appreciates class in a relaxed atmosphere.More

A lunch stop in the brasserie. A poor choice on our part, in our view a pretentious establishment, of the type I would normally avoid. Unnecessary to have 'silver salvers' and 'domed' presentations as if straight from the dining scene in Beauty and the Beast...without the charm. 'Fine Dining' without the charm.I really don't need to have my food explained to me - I am a grown up. Members of the 'waiting team' seemed on edge, one wonders about the 'culture' in the workplace here. The food was acceptable - a simple spaghetti Pomodoro followed a nice charcuterie with delicious horseradish sauce. A fussy chicken affair was also ordered our own mistake for lunchtime. Having stayed in a few of the hotels in this group we were surprised at the over the top approach and feel that if they relaxed a little it might have been a better experience. The staff were perfectly pleasant its the 'ethos' that has led to the 2 stars for service.More

I would like to begin my review by saying that I can't justify the reviews this hotel has been getting. It's a 3-star hotel at best. Here is my experience. Firstly, the food at the hotel is borderline uneatable for a 5-star hotel. The main...dinner restaurant offers bar-quality food camouflaged by a needlessly pompous presentation and a menu with "tasty" words. There is a daily menu which *tries* to deliver new and exciting flavor combinations, and a weekly menu with Italian "classics". (At least that is my understanding of the purpose of these) Let me elaborate on both of them. The daily menu fails miserably at delivering anything new. All the dishes seem bland. The sauces are poor and often dominated by mayonnaise. The flavor combinations don't compliment each other, it all seems forced and completely out of place. The classics are really hard to screw up when you have access to fresh food. La Perla managed it! My main course was brought cold. It had almost no sauce. The waiter suggested that I should order the meat cooked medium and I complied. It turned out to be rare-medium rare (cooked at around 55 degrees C, I suppose. Closer to medium rare) The next day I tried the pork. After the waiter brought the plate to my table (proclaiming "boneless chicken"), I couldn't help but notice half of the dish was a disgusting layer of fat and skin. I asked to show that to the chef. A few minutes later the head water came back asking if I was unhappy. I pointed at the greasy accumulation and said it looked and tasted (I was unlucky enough to taste it) absolutely disgusting. What did he say? I quote: "If you don't like it, doesn't mean others don't like it". I replied by saying that the other person next to me having the same pork didn't have this horrendous mess. To which he said, and I quote: "If you don't like it, doesn't mean others don't like it". I said I wished not to speak to him anymore, to which he replied: "If you don't apologize, you won't be allowed to come back tomorrow". And then he came later said something that truly baffled me: "I know your room number." ... ... I don't think there is a point in continuing this review. I could say internet was abominable and room service was the worst I have ever tried. The pianist in the lobby seems half deaf, no offense to him. I did not complain to anyone because it seems to me if the head waiter acts so impudently, there must be something going on at a higher level. This truly was a hellhole.More

Beautiful hotel with 5 restaurants off the beaten path in Corvara. The hotel's restaurant is quite warm and cozy but the food is not memorable. The service was fine and we enjoyed the wine special for the evening. They have an old fashion salad bar,...again adequate, but not outstanding nor very creative. The dessert bar was the best part of the dinner. The ambience is intimate and so the experience is relaxing and basically we enjoyed it despite the fact that we thought it should have been betterMore

Totally overrated. The waiters did not control anything, had to wait for the menu, wait too long for the food, wrong dishes and the 45 minute wait, 5 inquiries to the waiter before the bill came. Ok food, but not worth the money

A mix of after ski and fancy dinner, the Bistro La Perla offers the perfect menu for a family or friends dinner. All dishes were very well executed. The fried spinach dumpling accompanying the soup was simply awesome. The lamb rack was perfectly grilled and...made me wish it would never end. Unfortunately the most inspiring dishes can be ordered only for two and we might get frustrated (as I did) not to be able to have them.More
