Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went there on a family reunion. We would like to be in a starred one, but its that date allo starred around Brescia were full booked. So we revert to Castello Lavezzi. To be clear: it's a nice place, food is fine, but.. is...not starred. in many little details it cannot compare with starred ones. Their proposal is good, based on some local materials, and for example caviar from Calvisano is remarkable. Wine list is acceptable, with some known names, but lacks of bright proposals and sommelier (I don't remember the badge.. anyway...) prefers to stay put on standard proposals. In top restaurants You can see people form all the world, here customer ar typical local people, so remains in a local trend.More

I don’t think there’s a qualified chef in the kitchen …mash potato as starter..and as side of every dish…either no taste or too salty… no cooking skills at all… perhaps all effort on plating … nice event place because of the view but never come...to eat

The restaurant kitchen is closed from 14:00 till 19:00 but this is not clearly mentioned at their Website or in Tripadvisor. We came at 14:20 and were denied service. Not nice since the drive up the hill is quite long already. Quite nice scenery though.

I don't write that many reviews but feel inspired to do so this time by the wonderful Sunday lunch we had at this restaurant. The food was amazing, creative, and beautifully presented, the service was perfect, and the view and location are truly stunning. I...hope to go back here again the next time I am in the region. And I can see traveling from afar to go here.More

Great location , superior food and service. Very satisfying menu with choice of set menus or a la carte, wine and caviar collection to explore. Attentive service, all you can expect from a high end restaurant and more. A special note for the pastry chef..., truly sublime. I am usually very critical with high end places but cannot honestly find anything not great with this place.More

Castello Malvezzi is definitely worth the drive. The tough windy roads in (with really sharp switchbacks) is rewarded by amazing views of Brescia. Multiple building with beautiful grounds. Very memorable. Food and wine was amazing. Loved the scallop with pumpkin sauce as well as the...risotto. Deserts to die for. Service and ambiance were equally as memorable. Deserving of all the accolades. Thank you.More

We dined at this restaurant on the evening of Friday 6th October and selected the Sea Bass. It came in cased in a half section of frozen salt, the fillet was very small and accompanied only by an even smaller potato! The cost at 20...Euros was outrageous and we were appalled! Would never go there again.More

The dinner Benvenuto Primavera with three chefs was very badly organized. A welcoming drink outside where there was quite a cold breeze lasted too long. The room for the appetizers was too small for the amount of guests and therefore took too long. The first...dish served at table was at 10 p.m. which is much too late. The first dish was excellent (the Smoky Trout), however, from there on the meal got much worse. The pasta of the ravioli was much too thick and chewy. The meat course was terrible to the taste buds. Fassona tartare steamed slightly covered in oyster sauce and then grated powdered caviar was a mixture of flavours which was very displeasing (to say the least) to the taste buds. Not a mixture which should be repeated. It was then difficult to leave early because the receipts had not been printed even though it was a fixed price meal. Somebody should seriously give a second look at the organization of this restaurant.More

The experience we had here was in the top three ever. The setting is beautiful and we can't wait to eat on the terrace to soak up the view of the city from on high. The grounds are a harmonious balance between traditional elegance and...contemporary style. The wine list was the best I have ever seen. Countless aged wines and unbelievable values. We enjoyed Jura from 1995 and a Brunello from 1997. The food was among the best we've ever indulged in. My started set the tone with a fried poached egg (I have no idea how they executed it) atop toasted brioche surrounded by sauce made by local cheese and Franciacorta wine. Behind the egg was a large mound of foie gras foam and the entire plate was sprinkled with fresh truffle. The rest of the meal followed suit. We will definitely return...many times.More

I ate here with my family the xmas lunch. Therefore the menu was fixed. My experience in short: - stunning location - the food was at best average. The aperitivo was also disappointing. Finally the dessert buffet featured tasteless fruit, some stiff macaroons and some...dry pastries. - service was really poor ( people waiting for long for the dishes, forgot to change the dishes in between two servings, you had to chase them if you wanted something like oil or cheese ) I won't be going again there and I cannot recommend it.More

I have dined here many times over the years. It is a must each time I visit the Brescia area. My first visit was over 20 years ago. On business there and our host took us to this restaurant for dinner. He was good friends...with the manager at that time and we were able to tour the entire facility before dinner, including the massive wine cellar. The view overlooking the city of Brescia is the finest. It takes you back hundreds of years to when this once was a monastery over looking the valley below. The setting and ambiance are what romantic dinners in Italy strive to be. Each time I have dined here the menu choices have changed. I prefer to try new and non-traditional dishes that showcase the chefs talent. I have never had anything here that was not magnificent. To this day, after a couple decades of traveling and dining around the world this restaurant has still served me the best thing I have ever eaten. I wish I could recall the name in Italian, but it was a sort of sea bass ceviche served with an apple sorbet. It was served as one of the early courses and was so good that when we were asked for our dessert selection, I chose this dish again. The flavors complimented each other in a way that only tasting this could describe. When I am asked what is the best thing I have ever eaten I immediately think of this dish and Castello Malvezzi. Thinking of this place reminds of my friend Pierangelo, Dario the man who created this spot and was taken from us too soon, and of all the wonderful times spent here and in Italy. I am sure dining here will provide you the same lifelong memories.More

Location beautiful on a hill, good starters and desserts, terrible mains and wine making this not worth the money paid for it. My boyfriend got sick from something he ate there. Will not come back.
