I had the grilled octopus over houmous with local breads, which was divine. Followed by pistachio encrusted fish, very tasty and cooked to perfection. Paired with excellent local wine.
The waiter Nafal was a perfect host and remembered me from two nights previous when I couldn’t get a table. You must make a booking online or by phone as Sal8 is great value for money and excellent quality, and the locals know that too.

Me and my bf are both vegan and we went for dinner in this restaurant as we saw it had vegan options, and it was amazing !
Our dinner was delicious, the service was very high, they offer shampagne when you get a table, our waiter recommended some vegan dishes, and in the end he offered to us a lemon dessert which we loved.
Also the place is beautiful and just right in the centre.
We saw a lot of people passing by but the restaurant was full, so we recommend you to call in advance for reserervation.
Higly recommended !

Some of the best food we've had in our lives! Complementary bubbles as you arrive, spacious tables, romantic setting... Everything was delicious, fresh and cooked with passion and care. Our waiter, fluent in English and French, advised us wonderfully on some of the traditional sicilian dishes and local wines. Service was fast except for a wait at the end which they made up for by gifting coffees and traditional spirit.
The setting is amazing, cornered off a gorgeous view of the valley and giving on some authentic hillside Town stairs which give a comfortable feeling. Just off the restaurant is a gorgeous piazza where to have a digestive stroll through after your amazing meal.
Honestly a must 👌

We had a lunch here a few days ago and it was one of my favourite meals of our holiday . The service was wonderful and very relaxed and the food was really amazing . I had octopus on a bed of smooth chick pea humous to start and the most amazing prawn linguini to follow . I had the Sfogliatella as a pudding . All beautifully presented . My husband had 3 types of Tartare for his starter and comes with a lovely show as they present it . The wine was delicious too and we given a welcome Prosecco on arrival . Service is done at a lovely leisurely pace so we never felt rushed and could just absorb the atmosphere.

The swordfish I ordered was perfect, Sergio was the perfect host. He made space for us, despite being busy and served us with grace and courtesy rarely found these days. The kitchen produces wonderful food, with prices very appealing, and when served this way by Sergio it made for a totally enjoyable evening for my wife, son and I. Thoroughly recommended!! Thank you Sergio!

Sal8 is closed on Mondays - otherwise we would have dined here both nights of our visit. They start the meal with a complimentary glass of Prosecco and end it with a complimentary Limoncello. We dined here with our three adult children and everyone was please9d with their meal - fresh meats, seafood and pasta

What a truly fantastic restaurant! The food here was absolutely delicious. In fact, it was our favorite restaurant from our entire trip to Sicily. The wait staff were extremely attentive and were able to offer great suggestions for ordering based on what we asked for. WE found the price to be quite reasonable based on the quality of the food, which was locally sourced. Bravo to chef and staff! I only wish we lived closer to be able to frequent this restaurant.

We ate at Sal8 on our first night in Sicily and it was one of the best meals of our trip and without doubt the best value. I cannot eat gluten and still had plenty of options.
The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The location eating outside in one the Agrigento side streets was lovely. We asked for a wine recommendation and the waiter suggested a really tasty local white. The whole meal was excellent but especially the octopus, so tender and tasty. We had 3 courses each and the bill was Eur85, given the standard of food I thought they’d made a mistake !
Grazie mille Sal8.

Delicious food. Friendly, great service. Beautiful decoration and perfect location. What else could a hungry tourist ask? My wife and I were so well treated - in both our tastebuds and hearts - that I feel that a review doesn't quite make it justice. I'd recommend this cosy, tasty restaurant to anyone visiting Agrigento. Oh, did I mention that the price was great too?

We went to this restaurant based solely on Trip Adviser reviews and the photos. We were not disappointed! Service was impeccable, especially from our waiter, Naufel, who moved from table to table, speaking fluently in Italian, English, and French. (He apparently knows two more languages, too!). Everything we ordered was done well with a bit of a creative twist. Beef tartare (with an arrangement of usual, and also new accompaniments), Paccheri neri with squid sauce and burrrata, and Sea bass on a bed of matchstick vegetables. The sea bass was expertly skinned tableside. We went on a Saturday night…reservations were a must! We would dine here again, and would recommend it to anyone visiting Agrigento!

If this restaurant was in a major European capital city you would have found a table only if you were a celebrity.
Although we went there without a reservation and the place was packed, they instantly did there best and arranged a table for us. Regarding the service, they treated us like we were their family.
Regarding the food, we ordered almost everything from the menu and everything was simply amazing!!!!!!!

We only wanted a quick bite to eat at lunchtime on our way to our AirBnB and having parked the car only 100m or so away came across this restaurant. So very pleased we did. The welcome, service and food (we had two pasta dishes and a couple of glasses of GREAT local Sicilian white wine) were some of the best we have come across whilst travelling through Sicily. The head waiter spoke great English (amongst other languages) and we even had a welcome glass of Prosecco handed to us. Small things add up to great experiences and having recently had the complete opposite at the Don Camillo in Syracuse, made this visit even better.

Set in the central Via Atenea, we had a nice table on the balcony (didn’t book, so all table outside were booked). The staff was very friendly and nice. One of not the best dinner we had in Sicily! Lots of delicious options if you are not a fishy person! We had the vegetable strudel (that comes with 3 sauces, caponata, chickpeas and zucchine humus), pasta alla norma and pasta with pesto della valle (basil, almond and pistachio plus fresh cherry tomatoes)! The pasta was fresh hand made and both dishes were very good and creamy! We finished with roasted potatoes, very good as well! We didn’t try any wine, but we were welcomed with sparkling champagne and local lovely olive oil and home made bread! All were good! The prices were very reasonable for the quality! We will definitely go back and truly recommend it!

We have been several times to Sal8 and each time is a new discovery of flavors and scents. Great location right at the beginning of Via Atenea in the center of Agrigento, you can eat in the charming driveway closed to traffic in summer or inside. Everything is taken care of in every detail, from the furniture to the presentation of the dishes. Congratulations to all the staff, to the super professional Maître, to the Manager of the Loretta room always nice and helpful and to Chefs Biagio and Pierluigi... the true masters of the place who cook dishes of 10 and praise with excellent quality products and very high prices. We will definitely come back next year.

Sicilian caponata with aubergines, black paccheri with squid sauce and burrata stracciatella, sea bass on creamed potatoes and hazelnuts, pork belly cooked at low temperature in red wine, almond semifreddo: the dishes and dessert are really good - indeed delicious - which, accompanied by two glasses of white wine, delighted and thrilled us at the "Sal8" in Agrigento. We absolutely recommend this restaurant, where we booked for a dinner and were welcomed and served with kindness and attention. The welcome bubbles and dates filled with dark chocolate at the end of the meal were a welcome gift. Excellent quality/price ratio: with mineral water we paid a total of 88 euros for two people (of which 3 each for the cover charge, including squid ink and sesame seed breadsticks and good bread). Experience to repeat, if you ever return to Agrigento.
