Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After being in Spain for 20 years, on off, we have found our favorite spot for lunch and dinner, and this is the place. Great food and great selection, and very tasty and nicely presented by a very friendly staff. And, they always have more than what’s on the menu. We highly recommend this place

Went for a quiet evening meal whereby I ordered Caesar salad,it arrived well presented but as I cut into the chicken I noticed juices were running out of it and it was pink raw meat inside. When the waiter finally appeared I explained to him the problem and showed him the raw chicken upon which he just shrugged his shoulders and took the plate away. He didn't offer an apology or look remotely sorry. Won't be visiting again.

This is a wonderful family run restaurant in Daya Nueva. We love it for its great tasting food and lovely atmosphere. We especially enjoy its Spanish ambiance and tapas. A real little gem in the heart of the village enjoyed by all nationalities. Plenty of seating inside and out.

Wow, amazing little place and so glad I was recommended here. Lovely barbecue food and nice service in a little garden area. We had chicken and steak and my partner said it was the best steak he’d ever had and for only €18! Bargain. Will definitely recommend and come back if I can

Recommended to us by friends who are regulars in Daya Nueva we decided to have lunch at Cafe Bar Hogar Parroquial, Aubergine with honey and goats cheese was a fab start and Galician Octopus to follow was an excellent combo. The menu has plenty of choices for seafood and meat eaters (less good for vegetarians). Overall the experience was relaxed and service by Juan was cheerful and very welcoming. Prices are reasonable and portions a decent size. We will be back for more. Loved it.

This is a family run restaurant, in authentic Spanish style, a clean simple dining room serving home cooked food prepared freshly as you wait, the Sunday lunch comprises fresh bread with alioli and prawns peeled by the diner, swordfish over chutney, then a choice of paella, black or normal, dessert of the day the above will cost you €15 per head with drinks extra at a wallet bursting €1 per drink. All with friendly and helpful service

If you want no BS, true BBQ, then this is the place. We both settled for the beef (entrecôte), and its just superb. And too cheap for what you get in size, quality and taste. This can become a true dining gem on the Costa Blanca!

A warm welcome ALWAYS awaits at Hogar Parroquial! Therese, Juan, Juan & Christina make sure that you receive delicious, authentic Spanish food at its best. We always visit when we come to our casa and have enjoyed a range of delicious food, from menu del dia to the best paella EVER! Juan Junior speaks excellent English too!

We come here on a regular basis & the food is always fantastic. Great tapas, probably the best steak & fish from the barbacoa in the area & they do a fabulous paella on a Sunday. A lovely family run restaurant whose staff are always welcoming, definitely one of our favourites!

Good afternoon Jimmy, firstly on behalf of all those who work in Café Bar Hogar Parroquial, we are sorry about the problems you have written in our page and you had in our bar. Unfortunately, it is difficult to please everyone. However, we think the problem you have had is about the establishment policy and our food offer. In relation with the problem you ask about the "vegetable risotto" I would like to explain you that in our offer the "vegetable risotto" is not offered. Also, our rices are one of our specialties (seafood paella, fideua, vegetables paella, ...) and they need to be ordered one day before unless it is sunday, because on sundays we are ready to prepare paella to eat in our bar and also to take away. The reason to order one day before the paella is to guarantee the quality and freshness of our products. (This establishment policy and its respective explanation are showed in posters in the bar). On the one hand, in relation to the "vegetarian meal", we tried to offer you our fresh products grilled. Maybe the real problem is that you are looking for a vegetarian offer of food but we are not specialized in this kind of cuisine. So, as I have told you before, sometimes it's complicated to please everyone but I hope you understand we are not specialized in this sort of food. Our specialties are: homemade tapas, daily menu, Spanish meat, fresh fish and seafood of Santa Pola, calderos, mixed meat made in the bbq (available on friday and saturday night) and paella plus tasting menu on sunday. On the other hand, about the steak, we want to explain you that all of our meat are presented with extra virgin olive oil and Himalayan salt, if someone wants sauce we can prepare two sauces (pepper or roquefort) and the garrison is chips or salad. Moreover, in our bbq we put other homemade sauces (bbq, chimichurri, ...). To finish, we are sorry about the problems you had and for other times, we recommend you to ask us if you do not understand something and we will be delighted to explain you all your doubts face to face. We prefer talk with all our customers face to face, with a personal care in despite of being available on facebook. If you need something, you can talk with our waiter Juan. He will explain and recommend you. We hope to see you soon and if you want something special that is not offered in our menu, we recommend you to try to talk with us in advance.
