This was our second visit to XO , our last one in 2019 On holiday at last from Tassie, this was one of our favourite restaurants last time on the coast. Unfortunately, we could not have one a la carte and one set menu which was a disappointment and hard to understand the reasoning. However, the set course menu which we opted for was beautiful , the servings not large but beautifully presented. Service was good but not excellent and a bit rushed but they all knew their product. This is not cheap but absolutely worth a visit and their bar lunches look like great value.... especially after we tried some of the items at the farmers market in Noosa

We ate here last night and could not say enough about the food. We had the five course degustation menu which was so flavoursome that made your mouth dance. If you are expecting Chinese food as you know it you will be disappointed. It is a beautiful space and very accommodating, however the service was not up to par with the quality of the food. Very professional food with not so professional service. Would I come back, yes!!

With restaurants more open it is time to have a look . Choosing the Soy Duck with Turmeric Curry let me match with first a French Gamay ( Beaujolais ) and then the excellent Supernatural Pinot from Tasmania . All in all a nice way to spend Sunday afternoon . Especially since i ran into people i had not seen in 12 years .. But that is Sunshine Beach for you .

Our waiter kindly let me taste the Spanish Sangiovese before buying the bottle, unfortunately it tasted terrible, as did the 2nd taste of an Italian variety. He then came back with a new one and said the previous bottles had been open for several days....not surprising then! As he poured the wine most of it ended up in the glass but there was a lot of spillage over multiple glasses.... then there was the complete lack of ANY vodka cocktails, strange considering there were quite a selection of others. As for the food, it was ok as we had the 5 course banquet, however there was very little in each dish - 1 small zucchini flower, 1 prawn, 1 tiny piece of barramundi, 1 small piece of duck in the curry so a lot more generosity on the plate would have been appreciated, it felt stingy. The only dish with love was the dessert. We are not big eaters but I think more would be needed by most people to see it as value for money. Overall it felt like we were being processed through the place, there was no personality to the experience at all.

Our first visit here was unfortunately marred by poor service. We went to a Dumplings and Noodles night. The food was overall good. The noodle dishes were full of flavour, and generally the dumplings were excellent, though a couple were a bit gluey in texture! We ordered wine which when opened, was stored in a separate area. Not once were our glasses topped up without prompting. More than half way through the service, we noticed that other tables had condiments provided to accompany the food. When we enquired of the wait staff, they apologised and brought us our selection. Generally we found our wait staff not friendly at all. Late in the service a waitress from another section did apologise when we told here of our dissatisfaction, but the damage had been done. We might go back, but then there are so many other great choices in the area. When booking we were offered a choice of sittings due to “we are very busy that night”. The restaurant was about half full all night!!!

Having been here several times in the last couple of years, tonight’s visit failed to meet the heights of previous dining experiences. The three of us found the menu somewhat limited and we ended up with the same choice of Wagyu beef which we found to be bland and tough in parts. The fried rice and Asian greens were adequate.A mediocre Shiraz at $17 a glass added little to the experience.Three choices for dessert again emphasised the limited menu. With the exception of Neil Young’s Harvest Moon, the music was too loud, inappropriate and contributed nothing to the ambience. Those sitting close to the fans would have been relatively cool on a hot and humid night but unfortunately we were not. I would hope that the poor lighting on the staircase has been rectified as it was inadequate and potentially dangerous. A disappointing evening and we will think twice before considering a return visit.

Their website says takeaway available, and they have an online ordering system that makes you go through the ordering process before declining your order because “takeaway is not available.” So you try to call them, but they don’t answer. Do you drive to the premises, where there’s a sign outside saying “takeaway available”, but when you go inside to enquire, you are brusquely told that no, mate, they’re not doing takeaway. There’s 30 minutes of my life I’m not getting back.

We visited Embassy XO and had their 6-course set degustation menu. The food was incredible and the menu well thought-out. Each course had just enough food so that by the end you felt satisfied and not overfull. Each meal complimented tye flavours of the last as well as within the dish. We had the brilliant Phoebe who made our night even more enjoyable. Her humour and bubbly personality really completed our evening. Thank you Phiebe for all your hard work and for looking after us so well!

It’s rare l feel compelled to write a review. We have wanted to dine at XO for a few years. We were so looking forward to it. We walked in and loved the ambience. The kids menu looked fantastic & they were excited. The adults menu looked ok but we decided we just needed some more advice from the waiter. When we asked what was most popular we received a very underwhelming response. Still looking forward to some delicious food, we ordered. The waiter was officious, felt like he was in charge rather than customer centered, and was very disinterested & verged on rude. Then the food arrived. Honestly, we are pretty open minded but the food was average. The duck and chicken were both dry, the Ocean trout flavourless, and duck hot pot was average. The eggplant was actually ok but not amazing. The best dishes were duck curry and kids dumplings. We were so disappointed.

We just enjoyed a great meal at Embassy XO. We were seated and had our drink order taken straight away which was just what we need after a long day touring around Noosa. My wife has an onion intolerance which we noted on our booking and the owner brought over a menu organised for my wife indicating which options she could have that could have the onion removed which was very much appreciated. She still had some great options and decided on the vegetarian spring roll, char grill prawn wrap with finger lime aioli for starters which were pretty amazing then they organised a chicken hot pot which we had with wok fried Asian greens in oyster sauce. We followed up with a delicious panko pork cutlet with roasted peanuts and kung po sauce and fried rice. The only different course I had was the braised beef & potato pocket with firecracker chilli jam which had a nice little chilli burn but tasted so good. It was a very reasonably price meal and the service was very good. I would recommend the restaurant for a couples night out or a group catch-up with friends. The additional bonus is the wine store which is downstairs. The wine selection is definitely the best we have seen in Noosa and we scored a couple Victorian wines we love for pretty much the the same or cheaper price than we can get them from the cellar door. Check it out if you get a chance if you’re after a special wine!

One of our favourites on the Sunshine Coast, again last night we were treated to a fusion of flavours in all the dishes presented to us. On a quiet night, Steve and Simon answered our questions, provided awesome service and the chefs prepared amazing plates for us to savour and enjoy. We decided to go al carte rather than set menu which is always offered as well. Wine list is excellent . This is a fabulous venue to look out over the village whilst enjoying the night. Each time we return to the coast on holidays from Tassie, this is our must do restaurant.

Spent out last night in Sunshine Beach dining at XO. It had been over 3 years since we last dined here (due to interstate travel restrictions) so we hoped it was still of the same quality we had experienced on numerous other occasions. Thankfully it was. The waiter was brilliant and took the time to explain the menu and various dishes/proportions etc. The food was delicious as usual - my husband had the braised duck leg and I had the fish of the day with Wok fried green vegetables. The portions are always of a 'just right' size, leaving you room for one of their delicious desserts. I highly recommended for dinner/lunch and, if it's still available, they also used to offer a great yum cha lunch on Sundays.

The ambience here is lovely. The staff were so efficient but at the same time very friendly. Nothing was too much of a problem. From the moment we arrived our needs were catered for. But the food. OMG it was sensational. Perfect amount of spice but the flavours were rich and every dish was so varied in the cooking style and the taste. However, the chilli plate that came at our bequest was fantastic. My husband could not believe the taste of their homemade chilli mix. Our food was fresh, thoughtfully designed and diabolically good. Could not move at the end but the lemon myrtle sorbet refreshed our palates nicely. Phoebe and James have a wonderful restaurant here and if you know good Asian food then you should visit this restaurant frequently. We plan to.

The food was very good. Unfortunately, for a 6.15 sitting, the beef cheeks had already sold out which was a shame as they looked delicious. All of the food was yum. It was a shame the bar menu dumping variety aren't available for share plates in the restaurant as well. The location is nice and the service was good.
