I have just had the pleasure of dining at the Lake Hawea Hotel with my family. Epic views of Lake Hawea on a stormy evening. The Merino Lamb shoulder was the best Lamb I have ever tasted!! Thoroughly recommend. Everyone in our party was very...Happy with dinner, including my Vegan Mother :). The (very busy) Chef even made the time to visit our table! I finished the evening with a delicious Affogato. Yum. Definately worth the drive from Wanaka!!! We will be back. Thankyou Lake Hawea Hotel. Henry MountainMore

Nice big open space with fantastic views of Hawea Lake and the mountains. I shared the Merino Lamb Shoulder with a mate and we could barely finish it (We're both big eaters). The meat just fell off the bone.👌 Everyone else at our table really...enjoyed the food as well and the service was great! 10/10More

The redevelopment of the restaurant and bar area was much needed; it looks brilliant and way more family friendly. Menu is excellent and our meal was delicious. Crankworx on the big screen cherry on the top! Thanks for for a great night!

Loved our dinner here - staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and very well priced. We were there on Quiz night and it just added to the friendly and fun atmosphere. Glad we went!

I'm astounded at the change to the main restaurant. The central fireplace is gone- this was the point of difference to other hotel restaurants. There's now a large TV screen at the bar end and the room was cold. There's a small inadequate wood burner...at one end of the restaurant. This place reminds me of the bar area at the Blenheim Rd Inn, Christchurch in the early 1970s!! The food is not as good as under the previous management. A very disappointing refurbishment.More

You guys are just an amazing bunch, who actually care and go above and beyond your duty of care..thank you very much for that. The night we arrived, Andy came out to greet us and then explained everything which was so welcoming. The next next...morning urself and the kitchen staff went the extra mile and served us the best breakfast we have had on the entire trip to be very honest. We have paid a lot more at other places for food and accommodation and have had horrendous experience and there you guys are tucked in that paradise making it all worth it. We missed your food, place and customer service everywhere we went!More

Just the bar side ion, but fairly full compliment of punters on Wednesday evening . two gynormous screens to watch sport.OR in the daylight a view of the lake. Our group of four had a lovely evening meal. Staff very obliging and friendly. One GF...meal no bother to adapt. Salmon, rib eye steaks perfect, as was the beef burger. Not bad affocatos either, but we drink them out of port! Great selection of beers. Perfect if you are visiting or like us were camping at "The Camp"- just a short brisk walk up to the venue. An offer by staff of a courtesy bus for our return was not required as we found a pilot in the bar to take us back. Good times around the fireplace.More

After a brisk winter morning walk along the beautiful lakefront track, we treated ourselves to brunch in the restaurant of the Lake Hawea Hotel. The restaurant overlooks the lake & is warmed by sun streaming in the windows as well as an open fire. Food...and service were very good and the coffee was excellent.More

We enjoyed a lovely meal last night at the Lake Hawea Hotel. Really nice atmosphere with the fire burning & the restaurant buzzing! Staff were great and were hospitable to my gluten-free requirements. Our table enjoyed the fish & chips, pasta of the day and...the chicken burger - highly recommend all three.More
