Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The meal was good, I ate roast veal, I wonder if there are 2 separate buffets, one that I think will be for groups, and the other for families without belonging to groups, because today when I went to lunch there was a group, in front of me, on my side which is supposed to be only for individuals? Outside on the scoreboard it said 18 euros with everything included, when paying I was charged 18.80, 16.68 full menu plus 2.14 for a glass of wine from Quinta de Azeitão, it's worth it if they put 16.68 without drink included, One coffee machine was out of order, the other only had short coffee and coffee with milk. The last time I had lunch they let me repeat the drinks, but now I don't, but I understand that because of the abusers. Another issue last time, there were some employees stationed at the entrance of the restaurant, next to the menu board, giving useful directions as to where we could go. I think I made a constructive criticism, and that the next time I have lunch at the restaurant, it will be a little better.
Compliments

Great, easy lunch after going to the garden. Ask for veggie options and they explain - have additional items than just what you see.

Very beautiful and interesting place to visit.
Make sure you go there when it’s not raining, it becomes a little bit muddy and slippery for you to see everything.
Highly recommend!

Compared to the very delicious local food that I know since I was a kid, this place is nothing more than a cantine. The prices are high for the quality offered and food itself is dry, tasteless and unhealthy. We had to eat with kids as they were hungry and we didn't want to leave the beautiful Gardens, which are really worth a visit.
The best was the desert, main dishes were more than disgusting and disappointing. You can eat your shoes, they taste better than the dry meat from the BBQ.
Service looks like bodyguards that seem to want to prevent you from entering. Never again!

It was a Saturday and first time at Budha Eden. The restaurant is located inside the premises meaning you have to pay the 6 Euro fee to visit the Gardens in order to access the restaurant. The space is big and you can see that it saw better times. We were there for lunch which is a buffet all you can eat for 14,95 EUR. Honestly the food is not bad at all (traditional Portuguese food) but the presentation is very poor and selection of wines and desserts is very small . The space is also badly lit so it looks shabby. Well, apparently not a place to be repeated since there must be much better places in the vicinity.

We first visited the Buddha Eden nearly 10 years ago when all you could see was the large Buddha.
So whenever we return to Portugal we visit these gardens and watch the progress.
Our visit this June was with friends whom had traveled from New Zealand. They were in awe of this place, as were we. More sculptures are added, the Terracotta Army has been painted blue, this place gets better by each visit.
You will leave puzzled as to why such a place has been developed, but marvel in its delight.

We visited Buddha Eden (6 adults and 2 children) and had a really good time. Something there to keep everyone interested. Only bought drinks and ice cream until we went through the shop and then bought some blue wine that looked good in a lovely bottle. Would suggest on a hot day or if problems walking to purchase train tickets. Excellent time had by all.

Undoubtedly the most AMAZING Oriental Garden in Europe.
Set in a beautiful Wine Estate surrounding, its impossible not to be amazed by the impressive majestic stone sculptures and pagodas.
A distinct, numerous multi coloured terra cotta LIFE SIZE army, is unique and vibrant.
Not enough words to describe this ORIENTAL EDEN in Portugal.
Explore it, admire it, photograph it and tell anyone back home "I've been to Thailand".
Rest and recharge, have a great meal at the local Restaurant and on your way out, purchase, at very affordable prices the finest wines and champagne from the Estate.
Truly a destination NOT TO BEMISSED when visiting SUNNY Portugal.

We were a family party of 6 who visited Budha Eden for the day. It's an amazing place! Would certainly recommend the 'land train' as a good idea to get an idea of the variety of culture and general layout covered. We were impressed with the amphitheatre and it's amazing sound effect - stand in the centre and clap your hands...........

The first impression is of awe. One does not expect to find this 'in the middle of nowhere'. You drive through any área of orchards and vineyards. Suddenly you see this old mansion typical of portuguese wineries - and indeed it a winery. But you get your ticket, you go in and you find this 'hidden valley' with budha and other eastern statuery together with some large modern art pieces. Pleasan and interesting. Definitely a good family programme.

Great gardens with some wildlife to look at. Some of the art installations are also interesting. My family and I visit everytime when in the area but this will be out last. We were lucky enough to find out about this place when it was free to enter. Little has changed but now for a family of four including the train it's approaching €30 which in my opinion doesn't represent value for money. The wine shop is still good though and can be entered without paying for the garden.

Well, you would not expect this Budha garden in the middle of Portugal. I bet you can send photos from there pretending you are in Asia... It's kind of kitch, but the view is relaxing. We did it by foot, on alert pace and have to admit that so much green, so many statues... was impressed. Even had something refreshing from the restaurant, which was good and... have shared some with the duck. :) Best comes at the end: the wine shop - Quinta dos Loridos! Did not left empty handed, now curios about the wines as did not open any bottle yet... My advise is to pay a visit, you may decide later if it worth or not.
