The food is good and reasonably priced. The ambience is good and the service is good.
Unfortunately the gents toilets are very unpleasant. Flush mechanism not working, likes of used toilet paper overflowing the pab.Yuk.
The food is good, the ambience is good, and yhe service is good but oh those Gents toilets. One of the stalls the flushing mechanism doesn't work properly and there is a build up of used toilet paper which overflows the pan.Yuk.
Poor customer service and rude member of staff.
Had a meal at this restaurant tonight and the trainee waitress delivered our drinks to another table, to their astonishment she insisted that they had been sent over from the bar even though they said that they...had not ordered the drinks, they were left with the impression the drinks were free from the manager and, eventually drank them.
Later when we asked a waitress about our missing drinks she found out the trainees mistake and our drinks finally arrived.
We accepted this in good humour but were surprised that when asking for the bill the same trainee waitress was rude to my wife and said “well you got your drinks eventually didn’t you?” - with no apology for her mistake.
This waitress would be out of her depth in a shallow puddle and is costing the restaurant money and customers.More
Large pub/restaurant with plenty of seating. Menu sufficiently varied, from fish and chips and wraps to large burgers with varying sauces and steak as well as veggie options. It’s a busy and noisy place so wouldn’t suit a romantic quiet meal but is good for...a family meeting up. We had a table for 13 and all meals were brought to us at the same time. Service was excellent.More
Really hard to find anywhere open in Douglas to eat and this place was open and heaving and this was a lunchtime. Absolutely packed so we asked what the wait would be and it was ok so we stayed. Tables very close together, loud music...and football on every screen. This was Monday and March was from Saturday. Why bother!
Lot of staff rushed off their feet and quite a few in training and they were marked as such which was nice. All helpful and polite. I had halloumi and mushroom wrap which wasn’t that nice and I love both halloumi and mushrooms. Partner had chicken wrap - he wanted to give it a score of 1 out of 5. Processed chicken chunks and couldn’t taste the peri peri flavouring.More
Visited with a friend for a meal and a catch up. Food was good but what spoiled the visit was the continual "are you okay" "food okay" "need another drink". By all means keep an eye on the customers but no need to be in...your face every two minutes. Noting what drinks were on the table is a good indicator as to whether or not I need a top up.More
It was Sunday evening, we'd not long arrived in Douglas and we were looking for somewhere to eat that was open (not an easy task). Found the Barbary Coast and it was just what we were looking for.
Staff were helpful and attentive - I...liked the idea that trainees have that noted on their T-shirts - they were all trying very hard.
We had one of the sharing platters and it was delicious. The portions were so generous we asked for a 'doggy bag' and with a few extras had a meal for the next day!
Not a quiet place but the buzz was not overly loud either. Good views of the marina and some outside seating if the weather is warm and dry enough.More
