Mariners (Formally Lathwells) is a Grade Two listed historic building in one of Bideford's oldest streets. The building dates back to the 1700's. History tells us it has been a Mariners house, an Inn, a sowing school, a private house and now a restaurant. Mariners is small, intimate and relaxing. The table is yours for the evening. Our food is cooked from fresh to order. We pride ourselves on seasonal fish and meat from the Bay Area as far as possible. Our menu changes often with specials featuring on a daily basis. We look forward to meeting you. Booking is strongly advisable to secure a table. We are open Wednesday - Saturday from 6.30pm. Last food orders are taken at 8.30pm.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We're saddened that our fish dishes appeared to be uninspiring. Admittedly, we do not do huge descriptions as staff are are always happy to give extra information on our dishes if asked.

Returned here after an enjoyable visit several years before. Pleased with attitude of staff after we complained of being seated upstairs, away from atmosphere of main restaurant... Also, one of our dishes was too peppery and when we mentioned it the chef came to our...More

How have we missed this superb restaurant? We have lived locally for three years and this was our first visit. Recent disappointments at other restaurants and a friends recommendation led us to The Mariners.

We booked a table here on a Saturday night at the end of the school holidays. The food and drink was both superb. I couldn't resist the calamari starter and my main of Turbot with a crab and lobster risotto was both enourmous and tasty....More
