I came to eat on Saturday night, and as always the food was delicious, but I was not impressed by the staff (apart from the guy behind the reception/bar) NOT wearing masks whilst cooking (you can see into the kitchen) and whilst serving, and they...didn't ask my friends to wear one whilst entering the building or whilst we were not at our table, I had one on, and made them do the same! And they didn't take details for Track & Trace either, I probably should have left there and then really. I have only been to a couple of restaurants since lockdown was eased, and all have been strictly using masks and making sure guests are too unless at the table. Please make sure you get your staff to wear one. I won't be going back now until I know that they are abiding by the rules But I still stand by what I said about the food. It is delicious!More

Visit here every few weeks with the family with no drop in quality. Definitely recommend as it’s the best Thai in Colchester by far - we would know. A must visit.

I visited Na Ree Thai for a casual weekend lunch and was kindly welcomed in by a gentleman. It seemed like a family run small business. But there were plenty of seating spaces upstairs. Service was good and food tasted delicious! We ordered two different...dishes and a starter to share. Ohh after ordering my food I quickly wanted to change my order but the gentleman who served was happy to do that for me saying “of course it’s okay”. There were no much selection of drinks however to choose. A tea pot was very cheap! Less than 2£!! Starter, spring rolls came to the table quickly. Minimum wait and it tasted average to good. Could have been a bit bigger with more filling I’d say. Mixed Seafood Stir fry was a big hit and the PadThai was average. I wish if there were a bit more fresh herbs and bean sprouts. It didn’t taste as tangy as authentic and I understood it could use a bit more tamarind sauce and Crunchy nuts. However having asked for more chili flakes (oh yes I love my foot a bit hot! ;) ) and crushed peanuts, the lady who over looked the place(May be the owner? Not sure) was very kind to provide my request with a lovely smile. No service charge! came as a surprise. The gentleman who welcomed us appeared to be slow in his work, I assumed he might be ‘differently abled’ but was very neat and kind. Please don’t feel bad for a little bit of a wait for such circumstances! I was very happy with the experience and left the place with a happy heart!More

We’ve not been to Na-Ree for a few years and returned yesterday evening for dinner. The service is good here, with welcoming and attentive staff and the food is so delicious, Thai is our favourite cuisine. We had the satay chicken skewers and the Thai...fish cakes for starters, which were both delicious. For our mains, we had the Thai green chicken curry and sweet & sour chicken, both with coconut rice. No room for any dessert after this, but a thoroughly enjoyable, delicious meal. For the food, with one mineral water and two Chang beers, the bill came in at a very reasonable £42 (before tip). Can definitely recommend and we look forward to visiting again. 😊More

Having not been for a while it was lovely to go back and see that the original owner (Lek) is back at the helm. We sat in the downstairs area which has recently been decorated. Much nicer with a splash of colour. The food back...to its best, we had the Tamarind Duck which was to die for and a very generous sized portion. We'll be back!More

This small restaurant will suit anyone looking for good Thai food without any frills. The waiting staff are friendly and sat us on the ground floor next to the kitchen. We browsed the laminated menus which had an extremely wide range of dishes on offer,...although that did make the selection process a little overwhelming. The food arrived quickly and was generally good. However, the main criticism is that this tired restaurant has little to no atmosphere (not helped by the intrusive piano music played through a speaker nearby) meaning that I would not recommend it to others.More

We happened to walk past Na-Ree last night and saw they had a vegetarian menu. So I went in and asked if they had vegan options, they graciously told me they can make anything from the veggie menu vegan. We got some yummy spring rolls,...pineapple sweet & sour veggies, pad phai and vegetable fried rice. Everything was fresh, full of flavour and delicious. The chef even came out and checked that we were happy with everything. All in all we had a really lovely evening here.More

We love the food here and try to go twice a month. However We were shocked at the price increases on the new Feb 2019 menu. Most things for example have increased by 30% minimum ie number 66 on the menu has risen from £8.95...to a whopping £12.95. That's over a 40% increase !! And number 86 has risen from £3.95 to £6.95 This must be the new owner hyping the prices up? We will still go to one of our favorite Thai restaurants, but Nowhere as often now. Shame !!More

We visited here for the first time in a couple of years, and it was reassuring to see it so busy. The menu is very varied, with a large choice of starters and mains. But right from the start we noticed the service was lacking....We were not given prawn crackers, and it was a fair wait for our drinks order. The table next to us also told us they had waited an hour for their starters. And after they had cleared our starters and brought our main courses they did not give us any cutlery. We had to help ourself to some from a nearby table. The staff seemed to not have any set routine and we had a lot of different people serving us, which breaks the connection between staff and diner. I'd like to hope it was a one off due to staff shortages or something. The food itself was really nice, so it would be a real shame if the reputation of the restaurant is soured by poor service, as this is something that is so easy to remedy. It has definitely made us less likely to return in the near future unless we start seeing reviews showing an improvement.More
