This is a nice place for special occasions. The view is spectacular and I love the Scandinavian furniture and interior design. It was our second time here and I was a bit taken aback by the fairly loud and expressive rap music that was blasting...over the speakers. It was not the kind of music one would expect in a place like this. I got the feeling that I was in a happening bar rather than at a fine restaurant. The menu is fairly small but well thought out and served beautifully. It's a feast for the eyes and the palate. The service was exemplary to start; our Italian waiter was friendly, attentive and professional. Unfortunately his shift ended shortly after; he came over to our table to wish us a continued good evening which we thought was very polite and sweet. After that, the curtains dividing the two dining sections were drawn shut and it seems like half the staff had disappeared. The waiters that were left were friendly enough, but it took a while to get their attention. All in all, the place is well worth a visit and we will be back.More

We both had burgers. Very nice and delicious and juicy. Great taste. The menu was not too easy for ones with food allergies but our waiter was really helpful to find a way with the kitchen. Outdoor view was great.

We were in the area looking for lunch and went up to see the menu. Ended up having fabulous meal with fantastic view and attentive staff. I think other reviews are foreigners not used to Norwegian prices and quality. Quite reasonable for lunch (300 kr...most expensive entree). We skipped alcohol, which would add a lot, as usual.More

Let me be completely honest upfront. The Munch Museum is a must visit in Oslo if you have an ounce of art in you. Bistro Tolvte is easily some you can live without. The dialed to eleven overpriced food you have come to expect from...Norway in general, and Oslo in particular is turned up another notch here. The food is made with a distinct lack of passion and presented like people don't want to be there - as if they know it's not good - and want to tell you but can't. A schnitzel and a burger ran well over 500 nok. No greens, no nothing. Everyone should pack lunches and eat before going or wait till after. You're making a mistake spending you money here.More
