What a special restaurant. I came here in 2018 – and it was a trip highlight. I then returned with my parents in 2022 – and basically reorganized our trip so we could come back. The restaurant was, again, the best of our trip –...with a Lemon Sole tops my “best fish” list along with Le Bernardin in New York. The fish soup likewise sets the standard – and the mashed potatoes are topped with this memorable, oh-so buttery foam that will not be forgotten. Everything is of course made with the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients including the herbs for our cocktails collected from the local area. Everyone at Slipperian was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable – with a real passion for what they do. We even got to meet Chef Gísli! Come here for a real treat.More

Previous reviews stated slow service but our waiter was great and not slow at all. . Food was very good and different. It was quiet when we went on a Wednesday night.

Would have not imagined such a great restaurant on this tiny little island. Kudos! Everything was great. The lamb was so tender, seafood soup had so much depth and and fried cod skin reminded me of chicharrones but an upscale version of it because it...had a caviar dip.More

We had the five course tasting menu with wine pairing, and although we hadn't tried many of the Icelandic dishes before, everything was delicious. The dessert was skyr with sorrell and beets, and I could not believe how good it was! The food is very...expensive, as is typical of Iceland, but this is a great place to go if you want to splurge.More

Perhaps it was all the children running around, or the seem to care less wait staff, but this place did not measure up. For as hard as it was to get reservations, we were disappointed in the experience. The food was good - not great....But there must be better places on this amazing island.More

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch with a group. The Slippurinn staff was so gracious in explaining each dish and answering questions as well as providing excellent service. A highlight of our wonderful trip to Iceland.

The meal I ate at Slippurin has to rank as one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. We dined quite early as we were booked on the 7.30 ferry. Apparently they are used to that and service was incredibly fast. I went for the...fish special, a wolf fish which I’d never had before. It came with grated apple on top which was perfect. Sides of cabbage came with lamb. Pudding was skyr mousse with sorrel sorbet. I would probably not have chosen it if it hadn’t been on the set menu but it ranks as probably the best desert I have ever eaten. The food is unique, adventurous, exciting. I wish there was a Slippurin near my home!More
