After a disappointing hike due to very foggy weather, our visit to Café Vintage largely caught up with our day. Warm welcome, delicious dishes and very friendly atmosphere. Special mention for grilled octopus, bravas potatoes and cheese cake. We really had a great time!

We returned as every year to eat tapas in this small place located in Monchique and we found the same warm welcome and the excellent quality of the food offered that we had found in past years. Congratulations, because maintaining these levels requires commitment and professionalism. If you want to spend a day away from the sea, in the hills, and enjoy some great tapas this is the right place in the south of Portugal. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back

We picked this restaurant from the reviews on TA and were not disappointed. The owner and chef made us very welcome and we had a selection of tapas and wine which were both really tasty. We finished off with the homemade cheesecake which was divine. We we’re passing through Monchique and if we we’re in the area again would definitely return to Casa Vintage Tapas & Wine.

This little gem of a restaurant/tapas bar deserves its #1 on trip advisor for so many reasons.
First of all, the host is so friendly and welcoming it’s hard NOT to sit down immediately. He obviously enjoys his work and knows his menu well. Which brings me to the food - his recommendations were spot on for us - a mix of vegetarians and serious carnivores!!! All dishes were beautifully presented and perfectly created. Without doubt the best chorizo I have ever eaten.
The local wines as recommended were perfect with the food.
Do yourselves a favour and don’t miss this one.

This was a chance find en route to the Convent above Monchique. My Wife and I enjoyed a cocophony of flavours in a cornucopia of the best tapas we have ever eaten. If only once in your life you must drag yourself from the beaches of the Algarve head inland and upward to Monchique to sample Vintage Tapas and all its secrets.

Such a lovely lunch out,run by an attentive friendly couple. We had booked but it was so hot no one else was there, it is very small so booking a good thing to do. The food was absolutely delicious, we had the mushroom risotto, chicken satay, octopus in pesto and a tomato salad, order bread to soak up those dressings!. Definitely a find and we look forward to going again

This was the best meal of our holiday. All our dishes were freshly prepared and delicious! The owners were extremely friendly and chatted to us about the food, their lifestyle in the local area and moving to Monchique from the city. All in all a great experience. Would definitely recommend.

We eat out every day around the area.
We had passed by this restaurant frequently but it never occurred to us to stop by.
The day we did,we realized what we have been missing.
Outstandingly well elaborated food.
Lovely owners.
Sat outside and really enjoyed the outdoor environment.

On a little trip to monchique! A spot for lunch not surprised this was top of the list! Simply beautiful not a fault wine delicious! Service great with recommendations and friendly. The food was a sensation simple,great value and so so tasty especially the picanha and octopus. would not hesitate to eat here over and over again.

5 star service, both from the cook who came to the table and the waiter who came to the table. The food was good (especially the picanha), the cheese and sausages board was the weakest dish. For dessert, try the divine lime.

A real little nugget! Everything is clearly homemade and the tapas are particularly delicious; without forgetting the cheese cake and the apple pie which will make you salivate for a long time !!! All in a vintage atmosphere that has its full effect. A big congratulations to the hosts, people who are moreover particularly friendly. In short, an essential stopover when visiting Monchique.

And it is run by a husband and wife team and only open weekdays, but the quality of the ingredients and the imagination is excellent. Some of the best Tapas I have had in Portugal
We finished with lemon and lime cheesecake. Really delicious and took home two portions of apple and cinnamon pie. Yummy

Despite being about to close the kitchen, the owner let us have a table on the raised deck and served us some exceptional tapas. The portions are a decent size and we only managed to finish as it was so tasty. Will definitely eat here again if in the area and have already recommended to friends.

Went all the way up to the churches area in hope to find a special place to eat good food far from the tourist 'catches' down at the square. Very happy to make that decision and had the most amazing meal during our stay in Portugal, this is definitly a very special place. We hope it could remain a secret spot but places like these deserve a big 5 star review. Thank you so much.
