Visited Lgom with my friend l have living in Zandaam and saw the sign with "vikingbreads" and was interested. The next day we went back to have our brunch here. What a treat! As a scandinavian, it put a smile on my face immediatley just from the restaurant name "Lagom", which means "just enough", and then the menu written with the Swedish words for the things on top, with minor spelling errors, but that is expected, and a charm with it. At time of writing there was no English menu yet as they were very new, but the staff helped with translating what was on the menu to the ones that asked. The food was made on order, and the bread was still lukeqarm as it was served. Lods of flavours and suiting sauces on the side to complement the dish. The drink we ordered was a perfect cooloff after the food! So fresh! A very nice ambience. Delicious food. Happy time. A hefty nice selection og teas, coffees and drinks. Oh. And the little treat with the coffees were a tryout now. It was coconut tops. And I said it brought back memories to my grandmother's coconut tops. So delicous! Up for sales in a while they said. 😊

Best restaurant in Europe!

In all honesty this is by far the most beautiful restaurant I have visited in Europe let alone Holland. The staff are attentive, friendly and caring. The food is out of this world and cooked with pride, the flavours and combinations are delicious. It really is the most divine place. Visited after midday once and ordered something that had stopped being served at midday yet they whipped up the dish I wanted with no fuss. The breakfast this morning was just the cherry on top. Thank you for providing tourists and locals with an outstanding product!

Caring staff with an amazing breakfast

A really lovely restaurant in the centre of town, ideal for watching the world go by. I had the most incredible breakfast that changed my mind about feeling a bit short-changed about the concept of a continental breakfast. The staff were caring and attentive. I needed my phone charging and they took care of that and made sure it was safe for me. A really lovely experience.

Really looked forward to coming here, but service is really slow even though not busy at that time. Also I see other guests having to go to them to order constantly. I asked for salmon to be on the side next to option I took which was just an avocado smash, they say no and make it seem really difficult. They can just add it for 4 euros a couple slices, seemed to difficult for kitchen ??

Simple, Scandi'esque excellence

Perfectly lovely. The Swedish answer to the slow food movement hybridized with Dutch inspiration. Order, sit back and just relax in a stylish atmosphere. Enjoy the food and the coffee and the company you are with. Not going to lie, was a bit gutted they weren't open on a Monday as we'd planned what we'd wanted on our last breakfast in the area. But when we are back, we will be heading straight to Lagom Cafe.

Absolutely brilliant place! We went two mornings while on a short break. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food was well presented and excellent (apart from the boiled egg which was way undercooked) but that didn’t detract from the breakfasts. I would recommend it, just wished it had been open in the evenings

Explain to clients who even make effort to call before coming that prebooking is needed instead of waisting clients ime

Very disappointed. Called up to ask for breakfast. Spent 45min trying to find it with Google maps. When finally arrived was told it was fully booked however was not told this one hour prior to phoning also all tables outside were empty. Clearly staff did not want to work

The service staff seemed rather disorganized at first - there were many tables available, there were some waiting people and yet there were staff who had “nothing to do” and did not take care of the new guests. Eventually, however, we were given a place, were able to order promptly and received our order quite quickly. The food was mediocre to good - maybe didn't meet high expectations, but was by no means bad. It was a pity that we asked the waitress to wipe our sticky table and she did not come back despite her promise. Otherwise, the ambience on the street outside was rather noisy, but of course the cafe can't help it.

Reserved a spot in advance. On arrival I did not find a reserved table and it was already quite full! Wasn't helped by the staff, just find a spot was the answer! Once seated and waiting for friends, a female staff came to see if I could sit somewhere else, because she had people of four! What about us!? It was already full and there was no room for 3 people. So as not to cause a fight, I went elsewhere anyway! No service, table was not cleaned up after dinner. We sat for more than half an hour with dirty plates on the table while they did clean up at other people! Food, on the contrary, was tasty.

Nothing to not like!

Came for breakfast 2 mornings in a run, perfect location if staying in/near to Zaandam. Brilliant value for money, lovely food options and presented well. Friendly staff who were also happy to adapt menu options due to dietary/unlikeness. Would 100% come here again on our next visit.

Amsterdam Hospitality at its finest

The place's ambience is amazing. Beautiful music, wonderful food & coffee and even more amazing staff. The owner took the time to walk us through the menu and the story behind the coffee options. Tells so much about Amsterdam's warm and friendly people. Must try!

Staff were helpful and provided good service. They explained the menu as they didn't have one in English. Tasty and varied selection of breakfast/lunch items. Coffee was delicious. Place cozy and great for people watching on the main street.

Lovely spot. The manager was amazing, he took card of our messed up order. We had breakfast twice. Eggs, bread, cheese, tea Ra-ra-rasputin is TOP. Not long waiting time. Nice petit Terrace.
